Pray Without Ceasing
"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 16-18, NIV Throughout the long year of trying to figure out how I could joint venture with Saving Grace Enterprises I've just known it would eventually happen -all in God's time of course. The past few weeks have been especially trying for both Dee (the owner of Saving Grace Enterprises) and myself. We've felt and had an onslaught of attack coming from the enemy's ranks to try and thwart our mission. Throughout it all, God has shown and directed both of us to pray without ceasing. When we get busy in our daily lives, it's easy to think "I'll pray later when I am more relaxed" or "less busy" or "not so tired". That "later" usually doesn't happen. If you're feeling the need to pray right NOW and don't, it is really a direct rejection of the Holy Spirit leading you into prayer. He's here to counsel and teach us and if we don't heed His direction, we're not taking full advantage of the privilege we have in prayer because of our Savior's finished work at the Cross and subsequent resurrection. Prayer isn't only a privilege, it's the power we have in the Holy Spirit. Prayer is direct communication with Omnipotent God. Almighty God! Wow, now think about that. He's listening and He wants to hear from us. God, our God, our huge God Who is so wide, so deep and unfathomable in our finite being! I often think that would be like me desiring a conversation with an ant, lol. It's a good thing God doesn't think like that huh? God wants to be in contact with us at all times. Paul said to pray ceaselessly. Doesn't that mean pray all the time? Constantly? What God has been teaching me (Dee also because we talk together a LOT), is that He wants constant contact, constant fellowship with us. In my devotional commentary Devotions for a Deeper Life by Oswald Chambers today there was this message to me from God (yep He does talk to us in all sorts of different ways):And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth (Mark 4:5) ".......This kind of self-sympathy, arising from the cares of this life, is carnal. It will kill the Spirit of God within you. Jesus said, 'If you look at your problems instead of Me, the Word will be choked in your heart.' Satan will try his best to have you look at the difficulties of your life. He knows that if he can get your eyes off of Jesus and onto these, he will be able to choke your spiritual life. Have you ever noticed how many times Scripture warns us not to be anxious, not to worry? He tells us to cast our cares upon Him, to trust Him, to wait on Him, and to fret not. May God help us to keep the thorns from growing up in our hearts and choking the Word of God in us!" One way to always keep our eyes on Him is to be in constant prayer. If we're always praying to God about every single thing in our lives, our eyes won't waiver, nor will our hearts. One thing I'm certain of, this joyous amazing adventure Dee and I are on, while at times unsettling, it's a blast when you just give the reins entirely over to God, keep in constant communication with Him and just enjoy the ride! Pray without ceasing brethren and watch how God responds! In this meeting with Lydia, I was able to exhibit some control that later was almost non-existent and nearly rendered my soul. Rendered has many meanings and when applied to the butcher and his trade, it is close to what kind of lard or jelly (fish) my heart was 'feeling' after a few months that were wild beyond my own vivid dreams. The setting of the story began at the 'Shark Club' in Las Vegas one night just before I turned forty, about eleven years ago. I was in the process of buying a home in Las Vegas after moving from Los Angeles where I had been involved with a basic and ordinary woman (totally honest, and without my having even talked about an 'US') who had another amazing 'gift'. Her special talent was total sensory recall of the physical body. Yes, my life has been a myriad maze of the paranormal and sexual interplay of what most people would call 'fantasy'. In the relationship with Lydia she was honest and totally in control with no reason for me to even grasp at the smallest of straws to think there could ever be an 'US'. Spiritual Solution for Tensions and Anxiety Realisation and repeated memorization of the true knowledge is the only one solution for this problem. The ignorance is responsible for all the anxiety and tensions. One should know that every one has climbed the time (Kala), which is the running train. Death is the station at which one has to get down. Then every one should face the Lord for the enquiry.After the enquiry one will get either permanent happiness or permanent misery. To think that the life is very long itself is ignorance. Only on such comparison the human life becomes a small fraction of a second. When the realization is absent and when there is no comparison the lifetime appears to be very long. Years of rampant excess had brought me to my knees. Theory on PRAYER Oxford dictionary defines PRAYER as "a request for help or expression of thanks made to God". But I strongly believe that prayer is not mere seeking or demanding or requesting. It is a mode of communication with the ALMIGHTY. Prayer is not one in which the individual should seek something for his/herself or for the society. For me prayer is a platform where the soul makes a comfortable understanding God. Ordinary prayer is for those who think God is beyond reachable and something very far from them. For those who think and treat God as one in them or within them,ordinary prayers are mere words piled up. (Here I refer ordinary prayers as ones which involve demanding). With these kind of people one can find mere conversation exists between themselves and God. These relationships are eternal, far beyond materialistic one, there one can find no offerings, desires, expectations etc. Astrology What kind of foolishness is astrology? You read about Sun Signs in the paper and you can see almost every sign says something ambiguous or relevant in some general way. Surely no real science or serious people ever believed such foolishness. Yet all your heroes from the past were believers! Even Ronald Reagan and others of today order their lives according to astrological implications. I don't and never have, but that is because I have studied the field in great depth. It isn't just astrology that is at work or through which the forces interact with all life on the planet. The palm, the foot and the head or facial make-up can be read to see what effect may have determined some of how a person will approach life. The hand has all the astrological knowledge available 'right in the palm of your' as they say. The mount of the Moon and the girdle of Venus (should you be so lucky to have one) are there along with Saturnine and Mercurious deflected energy. Anamchara - The Value of Ritual Let me explain my approach to the practice of ritual. For me ritual is an act of presence. It is presenting myself fully in this moment. It is bringing focused attention to what is now. This is assisted by symbols and representations that I imbue with meaning. This is a feeling engagement with what is of real value in this life.
