Sheltered in the Arms of God
"Mama, save me!" My six year old son jumped into my arms as a horrendous crash of thunder and a bolt lightening sent a fireball rolling across the ground toward where we were. He was terrified, and truth to tell, so was I. But, I had no arms to jump into. I had no one to cling to - Except God. Immediately I cried out, "Lord, save us!" And, just like my small son who had jumped for safety to my arms, I jumped into the arms of God, spiritually speaking. And you know what happened next? The fireball disintegrated before my eyes, the wind calmed, the thunder ceased. It was miraculous. It was God taking care of His children. That incident reminded me of the time when Jesus was asleep in the boat while a storm raged on Galilee. "Don't you care if we perish?" his friends asked, awaking him. In response, Jesus simply spoke to the winds and they stopped blowing. It was God taking care of His children. Do you have a storm raging in your life, dear friend? Why not jump into the arms of a loving God? And though the storms rage high, the dark clouds roll -- you don't need to worry. You'll be sheltered; safe within the arms of God. Linda S. Life According to Green Principles: SoulBest Green Principles: SoulBest Universal Meaning of Celtic Knotwork In the spring of 2003, I spent three weeks in the city of Chennai, formerly known as Madras, located in Southern India. Each morning, walking before the heat of the day, I was amazed to see intricate knot work patterns drawn out free hand with flour in front of the driveways and gates of homes. These artistic scrolls, I was told by an Indian friend, were offerings to local gods, and were part of a tradition that stretched back into the ancient past. Look at Psalms 40:6 it says Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but my ears you have pierced; burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not require. Then I said, Here I am, I have come-it is written about me in the scroll. I desire to do your will, O my God; your law is within my heart. I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly I do not seal my lips, as you know, O Lord. I do not hide your righteousness in my heart. Authentic Spirituality: Pure and Undefiled Religion Because of the bright lights behind me, the golf balls themselves appeared to be glowing that night as they flew through the air. I couldn't avoid hearing a loud voice over the clicking of clubs hitting golf balls. I'd seen him there before and we'd talked golf. Tonight his balding head reflected the lights of the driving range nearly the same way the golf balls did in flight. But it wasn't his shiny head that was annoying me, it was his foul mouth. Understanding the Gospel of Matthew and Why it Matters - Part 8 Matthew 3:1-3The Preaching of John the Baptist Mankinds Ten Worst Enemies: #1 Pride We have a proclivity to think of individuals and nations as our adversaries when they present a threat to our personal or national well being. But, I submit, that our greatest adversary is Satan and he makes his assaults from within not without. It is an inside covert operation. The Foundational Laws of Spiritual Physics Over the past years, I have undergone a life-altering transition from living on autopilot to recreating my life as a spiritual calling and a force for good. One aspect of this transition has been the acknowledgement of what I call the "Foundational Laws of Spiritual Physics", detailed below. Basically, these laws state that any action that does not promote the overall betterment of mankind (or soul-kind, for that matter) is a waste of energy at best, and a horrifically destructive force at worst. Any person, life-path, or civilization that tries to deny these laws suffers the same fate as any material object that tries to deny the laws of material physics - it will be inherently unstable, unsupportable and destructive to itself (and probably to anything around it, as well). Life After Life - Death Is Merely a Changing Room Since I awoke from my three month coma in August of 2004, I have been asked many times about what I remembered and experienced. After looking over my notes and speaking with my wife and some of the medical professionals involved, I decided that it might be a good idea to write a short overview of these experiences. They were both wonderful and frightening, but the lessons I learned and the "gift" I was given are worth more than anything I could ever experience again. Religion and Spirituality - What Differentiates Religion from Spirituality? Religion is "absolute truth of life" of the physical manifested world. It is Religion and not Spirituality which forms the basis of the present society we live in. Shallow Victories How many of you out there have ever wondered if a life of faith is worth it? Don't shy away from me, because you know there have been instances in your life when the bad guys won.
