The Power of Myth to Transform Your Life
Irish myth has the power to transform your life into a real life of creativity and love. There are many powerful symbols that you might embrace in order to create a real sense of belonging in the world. Let me share some of these symbols that can assist in your truly connecting to the homeplace of the heart. 1. You are one of the 'beautiful people' Beyond all your defensiveness and uncertainty you still belong to the world of beauty. You cannot ever fall out of this although you may feel apart from it. The return of beauty does not belong to you. You are the return of beauty. You are one of the Tuatha de Danaan. You are still a child of the universe, no less than the moon and the stars. 2. Find sustenance from the Cauldron of Plenty This cauldron of plenty is one of the four magic gifts the Tuatha de Danaan brought with them to the land of Ireland from the isle of Danaan. It is a cauldron that is always empty yet sustains all who feed from it. This cauldron represents a wonderful paradox. It is a representation of unconditional love. Out of nothing comes everything that can sustain body, mind and soul. Love is a wondrous surrender to the emptiness that is totally fulfilling. 3. Find unity in a Celtic Cross The Celtic Cross is a symbol of deep unity. It is both masculine and feminine. It is this whole and holy. It includes a circle that has no beginning or end just as your being has no beginning or end. It has vertical and horizontal lines that represent your connection to time and space. It helps to remind you that you are a timeless being living in the limitation of space and time. It reminds you that at the centre of who you are is an emptiness that paradoxically is the most fulfilling experience you can enter. 4. Heal all wounds with the Spear of Lugh The spear of Lugh is a magic spear. It is a healing spear. It you allow it to enter your body in a metaphorical sense it will heal all wounds. A spear is something that you let go at a target. In the letting go the spear flies to find the mark. Finding the mark is the opposite of the original meaning of the word 'sin.' 'Sin' was originally an archery term meaning to miss the mark. It is only time and the accumulation of other interpretation that has overlaid and burdened the word with the connotation of guilt. 5. Sit awhile and rest in purpose From the isle of Danaan the beautiful people brought the stone of destiny. This is the stone that speaks one's purpose. It is a seat on which to sit allows you space to be who you are. It is ancient and speaks to the king in all of us. If you can get quiet enough you will hear this stone whisper secrets at the dawning of each new day. It will invite you to embrace the beauty of who you are. 6. Learn to cross the thresholds between two worlds You are a being of two worlds, the time and the timeless. Do not go asleep. Wake each dawn to a new day and the possibility of love. Learn to cross the threshold into the room beyond the circle of time. Move into the circle of love. This threshold is always waiting for you. When you cross the threshold of time you enter eternity. This is not a place where time is long but where time is not. Know that the blessing is here and it is you. © Tony Cuckson 2005 Tony Cuckson is an Anam Cara. This Celtic term means "Soul Friend." Whatd We Miss? Did we just overlook the amount of love that God has for us? White Sun - Who Are We? Human beings originally have three forms of existence. The first one in Heaven, the second on Earth and the third in Hell. Hence at any one time our True Selves exist either in Heaven, Earth or Hell. These three existences are similar to water, steam and ice. They are one and the same. On Earth we have forms, that is the human body or any other living beings bodies but in Heaven and Hell, it is formless. The Role of the Spiritual Warrior What power do we hold individually in the midst of the havoc being wreaked upon our world? What steps can we take regarding the anxiety people feel all across the nation? Stepping Into the Darkness One of the "loopholes" in my philosophical belief system when I was younger (and at this point in my life, that means "almost middle-aged"! ) was whether or not there was an evil force in the universe equal to God who served as man's adversary. He was the original "bad guy," and the human race seemed to be caught between these two invisible forces - one of good and one of evil. People, as the pawns in this universal power play, followed either Jesus or Satan. Jesus: The Greatest Scapegoat It seems more people today are using the Christian god concept as a medication, a solution to all problems, and/or a drug that eases the most difficult of conflicts. The need for a god has never been more prominent than it is today. I was searching some things online earlier and found several sites dedicated to teens and Christ, and it seems that most of these sites were working within the ideology of "If you're hurting, let God help." Sacred Space, Sacred Time We all need space, we all need time to ourselves. In Exodus3:15- Word of God:When the Lord saw that Moses was coming closer, he called him from the middle of the bush and said: A Celebration of Life As human beings it is inherent to want to self-actualize and build lives of deep profound meaning. This is what each of us came here to do. One way we celebrate life is by getting clear on who we are and what we are here to do. When we are clear, we are able to tap into our purpose and find our passion. I believe that we discover that purpose through our relationship with our spiritual nature. Every person was designed with a purpose in mind. Our passion comes from learning to trust God and letting life unfold. Living Life Powered By My Own Intention, Knowing the True Essence of Security Since my departure from the traditional "Corporate Life" almost8 months ago at the young age of 42, I have been on a free-birdjourney to "find my bliss". In that time and my travels, I have continually been confronted with and struck by the fact that, although there is much talk about and studying of "the power of intentions", it appears to me as though many people aren't yet really "living it". "It" being their own life, dreams or reality in happiness and in well being. Is Your Pursuit of Money Robbing You Of Complete Fulfillment? Do you think it's acceptable for people to makemillions of dollars selling us and our kids on theidea that pre-marital sex, adultery, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, selfish ambitions, drunkenness andthings of this sort are O.K.? Selling Spiritual Stuff Spiritual stuff is a hard sell Roy and one of the reasons for that is spirituality was turned into religion a long time ago. Spirit is natural and it is who you are naturally. Religion is man's commercialized idea of spiritualism. Man included within religion his own agenda, which altered the form of spiritualism for ever more. Long ago man felt the connection to his environment and that which created him. He was curious about who and what he was and many explanations came down as he starred up to the sky each night. You Are a Person of Abundance Heaven is a place of abundance and earth is a place of abundance. Every where God is, is a place of abundance, for God is an abundant God. If God is in you, then you are a person of abundance! You Are Not Your Stuff We humans are a funny, funny breed. We spend our entire lives working and working and working to acquire 'stuff'. We buy and surround ourselves with the biggest, fanciest this or that when all the while what we really need and want is something you can't buy anywhere. The thing we all spend our time doing is looking to experience a feeling of significance. It seems most of our actions are rooted in and motivated by our desire to either gain significance or maintain the significance we believe we've achieved. I believe that if you take a hard look at what motivates the majority of your actions you'll begin to see that this is true. You want to feel like you count. You want it to matter that you're around. Trust in God Ecclesiasts 5:18 Then I realized that it is good and proper for a man to eat and drink, and to find satisfaction in his toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given him-for this is his lot. 19 Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work-this is a gift of God. 20 He seldom reflects on the days of his life, because God keeps him occupied with gladness of heart. Spirit and the Law of Cause and Effect Most of our troubles are bought about by exercising our own free will. Dead Man Walking One of my favorite movies is "The Green Mile". A memorable scene was when the presumably guilty murderer was being brought into the jail and they announced his arrival as "the dead man walking." His sentence was already passed on him even before he was properly accused. As humans, we tend to judge others just by the way they look. Our carnal eyes can only see from the inside out, and are blind to seeing what's on the inside of us! In our own mind's eye, we are blameless, but woe to the other person who doesn't meet our perfect standards. CEROMANCY: The Fine Art of Candle Reading Lately, I have been asked a lot of questions in the Psychic Realm chatroom about "ceromancy". That is the fine art of reading a situation by studying the way a candle burns. Are the flames leaping high? Is the wax sizzling and crackling and popping? What does it mean when the flame goes out? Esoteric & Occult Secrets To understand the nature of esoteric and occult secrets it is worthwhile looking at origin of the words esoteric and occult. Esoteric derives from the Greek word esoterikos, from the root word eso, 'within' . The word occult derives from the Latin words occulere, 'conceal' and occultus, 'secret' . Both of these words, esoteric and occult, are used to describe the study of arcane wisdom, the spiritual mysteries, and magical and hermetic philosophies. Pursuing Your Destiny During my childhood days, I disliked Lenten season because radio and TV stations were off the air (no cable yet during the 70's) and food is limited to veggies and fish. Likewise, I was taught that holy week (1) is a time to be sad (at least in Manila), the elders then are singing the passion in a sad tune. (2) I was also told to "be careful" because God is "dead" (as if all forces of hell is turned loose during those days). And (3) People should act holy. I thought, people have the rest of the year to live like the devil. I even remember asking my mother, 'why is God dying every year?' The Spirituality of Pigeons! I was walking down the street the other day, walking around the pigeons and saying "good morning" to them when it dawned on me just how precious they are to the lives of city slickers. Abundance As Spiritual Birthright I am going to remind of some simple, yet important things, that you should already know, but perhaps need a reminding of just now. I know that I need reminding from time to time and suspect that you may also need the same 'straight to the point' reminders. |
