Natural Gas Cost Increases; Want to know more?
A Thorn in the Side for American Business and Consumers - Natural Gas Shortages and Cost Issues Natural Gas Issues and costs are tough on Americans and American Business. There have been many incentives for businesses and industries to use Natural Gas to assist in clean burning fuel. Natural Gas is a big issue. The DOE has some interesting studies on this; http://eia.doe.gov/emeu/mecs/trends/number_estab.htm . I received an email from the DOE. And Stephanie was good enough to point us to these sites: http://www.eia.doe.gov/emeu/mecs/mecs98/datatables/contents.html#fuel What this shows is that many industries will be adversely affected. This will hurt the United States position in the world markets for products and services putting us at a disadvantage. Also it will mean higher costs and mean increased inflation for consumers and many jobs lost by companies unable to compete. The worst part of it is the incentives previously given to businesses to switch to cleaner burning fuel and now those who complied and followed the responsible cause due to political pressure from the left are now the ones getting burned. Why? Due to the increased bureaucracy, regulations, NIMBY, who made the promises in the first place. This is nearly as bad a play from the liberal left as the eco-terrorists destroying buildings and putting tons of CO2 and combusted material into the atmosphere? Now that is special. What a contradiction cause a fire to stop pollution? Can anybody see what we are doing to our infrastructures which are already over taxed? In lieu of recent, tumultuous occurrences, people are more compelled than ever to discover the mystery of these modern-day, earth-changing events. Is Thought Evident in Plants? Who would have thought that a plant could be a witness to a crime ? and even testify against the perpetrator? Well, it is true! In the early 1970's experiments were done on ordinary houseplants, by researchers who connected a polygraph machine to a plant. Moon Rover Robotic Concept; Planetary Exploration I propose a beach ball hopping robotic planetary explorer, which could work in swarms, instead of a larger rover, which might be stuck in the lunar dust or red sands of Mars. One interesting concept is in a white paper by Paolo Fiorini entitled; "A Hopping Robot for Planetary Exploration" in which the robot has several design configurations all weighing considerable amount. That Dust on Your Car May Soon Be Smarter Than You Think? Here is a thought to get this topic started. A thought on a smart dust design. The smart dust will have to be able to stay airborne for long eriods of time. I was contemplating cleaning off a car which actually had hightech SmartDust on it? God made dirt on the first day right? Well, yes as the story goes he made the Heavens and the Earth and he made that out of dirt. So as man becomes God, he will need to make first things first. So perhaps the thought of making dust is actually a very noble step for mankind indeed. Three Types of Telescopes - What are the Advantages Refractors, Newtonian reflectors and Catadioptricsare the three main types of telescopes. All thesedifferent types have the same purpose, but eachtelescope design does it differently. Collectinglight and bringing it to point of focus so it can bemagnified and examined with an eyepiece is theirgoal. 51 Easy, Eco-Friendly Ways You Can Help Sustain Planet Earth 1. Air dry your laundry. Servicing Missions to the Hubble Space Telescope The Hubble Space Telescope received its firstService Mission in December 1993. The missionsmost important objective was to install two devicesto fix the Hubble Telescope's vision problem . Thespace telescope could not focus all the light froman object to a single sharp point because Hubble'sprimary mirror was incorrectly shaped. Instead itsaw a fuzzy halo around objects it observed in space. Aerodynamics and Hydrodynamics of the Marine Life and Uses for AI, UAVs, Robotics, and the Future Air has 750 times less density as the oceans, yet so many of the same principles apply there as well. We are quite familiar with marine life and the performance abilities of sharks, dolphins, penguins, fish, alligators, etc. Mankind is quite fascinated by marine life and often tries to use these observations to create devices to serve him. Mini Robots Grid Meteorite Search We need very much to study meteorites more, but we need more sampling to get this done. One way to do this is to go out hunting for meteorites. This is much easier said than done. But perhaps using some current technology it will not be quite so hard. For instance AFF Automated flight following systems has been used for more than a decade now. It uses GPS tracking by satellite to guide aerial fire fighting aircraft into the drop zone to let loose of their fire retardant. This is especially important when you cannot see and know that there is no ILS Instrument Landing System to guide you in. UAV Acoustic Apparatus for Insect Swarming Stimulus, part one Can we coax warms of Locusts to attack our enemies? It appears we can do this by way of directional sound stimulus. Disrupting the enemy by guiding mass Locust Swarms towards communication posts, radar facilities, SAM Sites, Command and Control Stations, logistical sites, Major Infrastructures using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles equipped with sound devices which are typically used in agriculture in replacement of pesticides. Spray on Dirt for Camouflage Super sticky spray on dirt or mud simulation coating or wash-off-able paint is needed to protect our troops in combat. It can be used for aircraft bottoms, helicopters and humvees. Sounds like a good idea right? But how would you get the sticky dirt onto the vehicles for instance camouflage? Well there are several thoughts on this. Hudson Sprayer, Aerosol Spray cans, Pressure washer with inline injection or use the nozzles on a water truck. Any of these ways could in fact work. Of course we must eliminate the aerosol can spray idea, that might be good for model airplanes, but it would take forever to do only one vehicle. Using a Hudson sprayer or small air compressor like sprayer could also work, but once again the time constraints are not conducive. Mars is not hollow; is it? Is Mars Hollow? We are pretty sure it is not, but no one can be certain however we might soon know. The reason such a question is asked is because of questions about the Earth and the time it takes for sound waves to travel through it. And the speed of the spin rate of Mars, the question of moons is interesting and a few other interesting a recent discoveries. Here is one of the thoughts on the matter. By bouncing waves off the polar ice caps this can be proven or disproven; Medical Miracle or Mistake? Fundamental elements of life and the aspects of cloning bring dramatic advancement to the scientific and medical community; however, is this fast-paced artificial reproduction an intrusion of Nature or a doorway to infinite, medical cures? How Can DNA Testing Help an Immigration Case? DNA testing is routinely used in immigration cases to prove whether a child under 18 is a biological child of or, in some cases, is related to an individual with a leave to remain in the UK. Most DNA tests for immigration reasons are parentage testing (paternity or maternity) but in some cases a grand parentage or avuncular (whether a child is a nephew or a niece of the sponsor) test is employed to prove an alleged relationship. UAV Blimps Powered By Hydro-Electric Motors Using Hydro and Fluid Dynamic Theory I believe it is possible to design a pilot-less hydro-electric blimp which would have a propulsion system which never requires fuel and would be based on a Perpetual Motion Machine which uses fluid dynamics in a hydro-electric. First the shape of this thing would be similar to the new shopping mall shade cover on the Las Vegas Strip. An oblong flying saucer shape would be two of these, which would be stacked like pancakes. They would be apart by 1/3 the length of each symmetrically shaped oblong saucers shaped lighter than air blimps. In the middle would be an hourglass shaped unit. Attaching the two blimps, similar to the struts on a Baby Great Lakes Acrobatic Aircraft. Paternity Testing Regulation: Help or Hindrance? Introduction Mississippi River Mouth Debris Jetting Using Acoustic Transducers The Mighty Mississippi is backing up and causing flooding issues due to over growth build up at its river mouth. This is dangerous because that region is already so close to sea level. In fact much of the City of New Orleans is 12-feet under sea level and protected by a man-made seawall. If we could clear the path to the ocean and watch the fertilizer run off from up river, we may save ourselves a lot of future outlays in the event of a sea wall breach. The current estimate is 155 Billion Dollars in FEMA aid if a large category Hurricane makes a direct land hit at New Orleans, Louisiana. Building a Single Unit CO2 Laser Grid When using a CO2 Laser to shoot down an incoming projectile, which enters a safety zone, it will be necessary to hold the laser on the target for about 5 seconds or more. To do this we must be able to shoot the laser in a grid, therefore if the projectile or aircraft or guided missile or even a UAV takes evasive action such as a high- speed high "G" 90 degree turn you can still register a kill on the target. Because, whichever direction it turns it will still be well within the grid and the grid can re-direct to center the target within the grid until the 3000 plus degrees of the laser destroy it. Hyper Sound Wave Emissions to Quiet Helicopters It is possible to disrupt the sound waves coming from a flying helicopter and re-direct those sound waves up. This would mean on a day with no clouds you would not be able to hear the helicopter from the ground. If our International Terrorist enemies cannot hear them, they are much safer from being shot down. The hyper sound waves would be emitted from the skids on the helicopters and face upward like a cone. Careful consideration would be made so the hyper sound emissions would not cause an unbalanced resonance or detrimental harmonic situation to the aircraft. The mixing of the sound waves; the actual sound from the helicopter rotor blades and the aircraft's engines along with the introduced hyper sound waves together would also be studied perhaps at the Boeing Companies Apache Attack Helicopter Center to make sure that the sum of the sounds or the difference of the sound waves did not create frequencies which would screw up communication or cause harmonic imbalance. Hyper Sound Wave Emissions to quiet helicopters might be just what we need. The sound of silence, ah, so sweet indeed. Rover Stuck on Mars? NASA scientists had to solve a relatively common problem hear on Earth with the Rover on Mars. What do you do when you are stuck in the sand? Anyone who has ever raced off road or owned a 4X4, dune buggy or ATV understands these issues. There are many trucks to getting a vehicles unstuck from the sand. The scientists were able to get unstuck. Now then let's discuss this issue of Mars or Planetary exploration, because I fear that this is only one common problem we will face as we start to explore other worlds. |
