The Key to a Clear Conscience
I have discovered as I grow older in Christ Jesus and wiser in all things spiritual, that one of the best possessions any person can have is a clear conscience. You feel good. I mean, you really feel good. You can let folks say about you whatever they will and it is of little consequence. The key to a clear conscience is to know where you stand in the Lord. When you know where you stand; when you know you have not done anything to anybody, when you know that you are not running around sneaking and hiding, slipping and sliding, lying and cheating, when you know and God knows that you are climbing high mountains trying to make heaven your home, when you know and God knows that you are running up the King's highway, then like the Psalmist, you can smile as the heathens rage; you can hold your head up high. I give praises to God and thank Him today that by His grace alone, I can boast of a clear conscience. It feels good. I look at people sometimes who I know are against me (they may not know that I know, but God has revealed it to me). I look at them and think about some of the lying nasty things they have said about me or some of the subtle things they have done to try and hurt me. But I thank God that I can hold my head up high because as the Psalmist said: When my enemies came upon me to eat of my flesh, they stumbled and fell? The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid? Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear. For one thing have I desired of the Lord and that will I seek after, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life. And you know what David said? He said, Teach me, teach me, teach me Thy way O Lord and lead me in a plain path because of my enemies. David went on to say, I would have fell along the way, given up, thrown the towel in ? had I not seen the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. A clear conscience. If you do not have it, you ought to get it. Get rid of the mess in your life that is causing you to have a guilty conscience. Throw out the garbage; get rid of the trash. Get rid of the burden of an unclear conscience. With a clear conscience, you can look folks in the eye while others are holding their heads down and shifting their vision. You can make eye contact with them because you know you have not done anything to them. This is why Jesus said, "love your enemies" and "be good to those who despitefully use you ? because at the end of the road, you can hold your head up high. You do not have to apologize for your actions because you know you were not in the mess ? but you overcame because instead of hate, you practiced love. Rev. Saundra L. Are You Building Your Own Cistern? You're looking at one star in the middle of a dark sky... Elvis Left the Building and Moved in with Me! Years ago no matter where I lived, whether a house was new or not, I'd experience doors opening and closing by themselves, items disappearing only to be found later in the strangest places, seeing people others didn't and being touched by unseen hands. Not only was this unnerving; it was also really frustrating! Each time I moved I'd think "Here we go again! What surprises are in store for me this time?" The Subconscious Mind: A Tool For Success As a Coach and Psychotherapist I have found that the world seems to have lost its way in terms of values. Most individuals are looking for more meaning in their lives, as are businesses looking to capture the spirit of what they do. I found the movie " What The Bleep Do We Know?" refreshingly inspiring and in many ways descriptive of my view of the world. Quantum theory and the profound effects it has on the way we view the world, our world, and therefore the way we create it is an amazing way of saying, "hey you are accountable and you got to where you are because you created it!" Neither White-washed Nor Unmarked When I was 10 years old my father decided to dig a full basement out from under our house. In one corner he pointed out to me a change in the pattern of the packed earth that formed the wall. "Notice how this part is all layered," he said, "while the earth right next to it is not? This may be an old Indian grave." I was filled with amazement. Our house might have been built on top of a dead man's bones! Saints or Charlatans What's the difference? How are we supposed to tell the difference between the real healers and those who are selling snake oil? It's a big seller to claim that your work is divinely inspired. Even better, tell them you've gazed into the eyes of God and come back to tell the tales. Tell them that in Ireland the wee folk are still spotted on occasion. It's far off and exotic. They'll believe you. Oh, how we love such tales. Those who have never touched the magic will always hunger for stories to tell them what it's like. How do you know who's stories to believe and who's just spinning yarns? One More Mile I want to share with you something that happened to me just a few weeks ago. There is a place that I go to write, read and to simply relax. This place is in the mountains along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The scenery is beautiful and I go and pray and take in God's beauty. I love it there because it is quiet and the only thing that I can hear is the chirping of birds and the wind. I embrace the silence. That's peculiar of me since most of my life has been classified by business and noise because I never wanted the silence. I was scared of it. Months later, I love it. Its Ok To Be Human One of the things I have had to deal with since I was old enough to know the difference between good and bad was that it IS NOT OK to be human. Vacation Pilgrimage I heard recently on a Christian radio station somebody talking about turning a vacation into a pilgrimage or a sabbath time, an opportunity to get closer to God. The speaker said that there is no word in ancient languages equivalent to the word "vacation". While I don't think that's true (the word has it's origins in the Latin), I would agree if she had said that ancient people probably did not generally have time for vacationing since they were often more preocuppied with daily survival. The closest these people may have ever gotten to a vacation could have been a religious pilgrimage. A Merry Heart is Like a Medicine When the body of Christ isn't protected we become vulnerable and sick in the same way. Every person in the body of Christ represents an important part of that body. Some people lead and some follow, but without the other one, it's impossible to work correctly. When one person in the congregation hurts, we should all hurt and when someone has a praise report, we should all be in praise. But unfortuneately, this is not the case. We neglect eachother's needs, we covet eachother's possesions, we envy, we get jealous, and we secretly hold unforgiveness towards our brethren. This behavior soon leads to an attack on the body of Christ. A serious illness will develop and could end up causing death among the whole church. I've seen it happen when even the pastors were destroyed by the leading of the people and not the leading of God. This led to offenses and regrets and soon the church folded. The Ten Commandments Starring Charlton Heston Last Saturday, the children were down at their grandparent's house and my husband was out of the house working, and I found myself home alone. This is very unusual for me. A quiet house doesn't often happen for me, so I savored the favor. It's a rare treat when I can actually watch television without any interruptions. Making Our Self Real "Self-Actualization" is the process of making our self "actual." Our "real self" is our inner being, and it is only when we have integrated our inner truth into our external personality that we can - actually - express who we are and what we believe in so consistently that it becomes our "visible truth." The growth process through which this integration of inner truth with outer expression takes place is called "self-actualization," and - like every other learning cycle in God's universe - it is governed by Universal Law. Spiritual Clarity Who is the more spiritual person? The woman out on a Sunday morning excursion for coffee and a newspaper who swerves to avoid hitting a dog, or is it, the man who hits the dog in his haste to get to church on time? Who knows? My point is that going to church has absolutely nothing to do with being a good person. A Medical Intuitive Look at Past Life Wounding In my work as a Medical Intuitive, I come across many instances where a client's past lives are impacting their current physical and emotional health. Using Psalm 23 as Spiritual Affirmation INTRODUCTION The Springtime of Peace The deeper beauty of spring is its process. In winter's last days, as the sun warms the earth, each root and branch awakens to the patterned memory of who it is and what it can be. Life stirs and nature's growth in turn awakens all of us to the glories of being fully alive. Destroying Strongholds Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai, "Go, assemble all the Jews who are found in Susa, and fast for me; do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my maidens also will fast in the same way." ESTHER 4:15?16, NASB Anam Cara - The Blessing In Corrogue it is frosty. Whatd We Miss? Did we just overlook the amount of love that God has for us? Get Off The Freeway Have you ever noticed how much our lives resemble a freeway? Once we are on it, we are in constant motion. We must remain alert at all times. We speed up, slow down, and switch lanes. We set our eyes straight ahead, look back from time to time, check our side and rear mirrors periodically, do not make any unexpected turns, and get there before the cars all around us. We cannot brake too soon, accelerate too heavily, or cruise too long. We must always be aware of what is going on around us, lest we miss a sign or clue that could have prevented a fatal accident. It is as though we are competing in a race of some kind. One false move and the whole freeway is stopped or slowed down for hours. Home of God The first hymn of Isha Upanishad says - whatever living beings inhabit the world here, God resides in all of them; enjoy what is given by Him and don't seek other's wealth. |
