How to Forgive Someone
We've all heard the saying, "You have to forgive, but you don't have to forget." I won't refute that, but you have to agree that a lot of people use that excuse to never 'really' forgive at all. Are you one of those people? Let's rephrase it a little. "You have to forgive?and you have to forget the anger, the pain, the anxiety, and everything else that comes with someone sinning against you. But you don't have to make yourself a target (even though Jesus did)." Sound a little more difficult? This is really the Christian way of life, and it's going to be difficult. No one promised you would enjoy it. So we'll start with the forgiveness. This is where you have the most control, because it's an act of will. You have to decide to forgive, and then do it. Here's a short list of what this involves: ?No more daydreaming about your perpetrator's pain and suffering. ?Stop thinking about the 'what if' outcomes, and accept what happened. ?Start praying for the person. Not for their punishment, not for them to see the light?pray for their good and their soul. Say a simple Hail Mary, without meditating on the one you're praying for. Meditate on the words, and dedicate it to your perpetrator. Let God decide how to reward or punish them. ?If you can do something nice for the person, do it without grumbling and without reminding them of what they did wrong. ?Stop gossiping about them. ?Every time you find yourself thinking about it, change the subject. Think about the starving kids in China, your financial problems, Baby Jesus?anything. Now that (believe it or not) is the easy part. Now it comes time to deal with the anger and pain. Sometimes it's easy. But in cases of serious violation, or when someone hurts a loved one, the very idea sounds idiotic. And no, you'll never completely let go, but you can completely try. And you can start by using some of the techniques listed above. You'll probably have to take it further. You'll have to swallow those emotions. Bury them deep. Yes, I'm going against what every therapist out there is preaching, but talking and sulking is no way to get over anything. You've had your period of pity; it's time to move on. When you feel the flame of anger building inside you, force it to the back of your mind, and let it die. Don't waste another second of your life stewing. It'll take practice, but every day is another chance. Finally, there's that last part. This is where most of us have trouble. This is also where we have to weigh our duties, and choose what's most important. Here are a few questions to help you sort it out: ?Does it involve someone under your protection? I'm talking mainly to parents. Our children obviously come first, and we're never obligated to put them in danger. ?Does it involve a sexual violation? I don't have to go into this. If someone isn't treating your body like a Temple of Christ, then stay away from them. ?Does it involve injury? The big question here is 'How much'? A school boy shouldn't offer himself out to the wedgie bully, but a pop in the arm is usually more a matter of humiliation than personal injury. If your body is being harmed by someone, you have a right to stop them?but again, Christ didn't. Also, consider how likely the person is to harm you again. If it was a one-time event, you should let go. On a side note: Repeated domestic violence has several victims, especially children. And track records show that very few offenders 'only strike once.' If you're trying to figure out whether or not to leave such a situation, stoop thinking and get out. ?Does it involve personal property? Who's property? If you're raising a family, you can't risk everything and ignore their needs. But ask yourself if the amount stolen or damaged property is worth the hassle of never trusting someone again. ?Does it involve your good name? Hunker down and forget about it. The truth will set you free. Lies hurt the liar more than anyone else. If it's the truth, then just be more careful of what you say?but don't withhold something begrudgingly. Formula for Spiritual Growth The formula for spiritual growth is given briefly in 2 Peter 1:5-7. Make every effort to add to your faith goodness, and to goodness, knowledge, and to knowledge, self-control, and to self-control, perseverance; and perseverance, godliness, and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. Talk About Purpose What better example than Jesus' life to explain about having a life's purpose? No other example I can think of, can you? GOD Loves Us All God, what a wonderful spirit. He, is our ever present savior and helper in times of need. This God, who loves us and lives within the beleivers of Christ,ie, "Those that are saved". What, would this world be like without Him? Could this world, inhabited by humans live in peace and prosperity? No, it could not. Why, because this world is ever controlled by the devil, and his fallen elite. They have corrupted this world beyond our comprehension and understanding. The Divine Holographic Energy Field What is the true nature of any illness? Research in Energy Medicine is showing more and more that it is the result of a disruption in the Human Bio-field. This is the energy and information field that informs and orchestrates the functioning of one's Being at every level i.e. thinking, emotional, physical, spiritual etc. Terminal Diagnosis and Putting Our House in Order In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, "This is what the LORD says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover." Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD... 2 Kings 20:1-3a (NIV). Choose Life or Death No one, not even God can make us choose the right things. He gave us the freedom of choice where our own lives are concerned. Life is full of choices. Many of them which we assume will give us life are really only secondary to what our whole purpose is. Angels on Assignment Recently it has come to my attention people are noticing Angels popping up in the strangest places. Several years ago you would only hear about Angels at Christmas time 'Peace on Earth' that kind of thing. Now they are everywhere. In all forms of art and in each generation's music. The encyclopedia definition is, "The process of forming an opinion by discerning and comparing". The bible says, "Judge not, lest you be judged", and, "How many times as christians, do we do this?" Are we not to,"judge the sinners?" No, that is not our responsibility. Remember, what Jesus said, " I have not come to judge, but to save those that are lost". Jesus, the great I AM, did not come here to judge us by what we looked like. He, came here to save us from sin. So how, "If the great I AM accepts us, can we not do the same for others?" Creating A Tithe Account Almost every spiritual and religious teaching exhorts its followers to donate a portion of their income to the support of the community and the common good, both as a way of ensuring (and insuring) the community's ability to care for its own and as a way to allow the tither to realize the extent of and to express gratitude for their own success. Although each religion and sect has its own idea of what constitutes a proper tithe (usually around 10% of the participant's earnings), the concept of tithing is a wise and long-standing tradition - one that each of us should be encouraged to add to our lives. The 5 Elemental Codes: Seeing Your World Through the Eyes of Universal Understanding (Part 1) This article is the 1st part of an open response to a question that I encountered online a few years ago in one of the many Martial Arts Ninjutsu forums. The question (paraphrased) was: Is America Losing Its Religion? Has America known its finest hour? Are we losing our religion and sanity as well? What is wrong with our society anyway? These are baffling questions that are frequently being asked by more and more people, even the media. Jesus the Great Teacher --Lessons Learned! Kundalini Symbology While study and pursuit of the Kundalini is considered part of the 'New Age' repertoire, it's interesting to note that like most things New Age, it's roots are very ancient and actually pervade almost every part of human culture. The End of Guilt What is the purpose of guilt? Unconditional Love Really Means Unconditional Radiance The fastest way to raise your frequency is to do the job you were designed to do. You were designed to love. You were designed to radiate Love unconditionally. Now before you go, "Oh THAT again. I've tried loving unconditionally, and it is impossible," you need to understand that what I'm saying is different. What I'm saying is that you are to love, plain and simple. Not love somebody. Not love something. Just to love. Okay, in a sense, you are to love somebody or something, but not in the ordinary sense. You are simply to love God. The Big Choice "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and eat with you, and you will eat with me."REVELATION 3:20, NCV Some Evidence of How We Are Spiritually Connected It has long been surmised that emotional trauma can lead to physical illness. It is also conceptualized that such toxic trauma fragments may exist at the level of our energy fields.
