How To Recover Your Almost Customers
You'll always need to find new prospects for your business. But don't overlook the prospects you already attracted. Many are close to buying. Use these four simple procedures to convert those "almost customers" into paying customers. 1. Make A Memorable Impression Create a reason for prospects and customers to notice you ...and to think of you when they encounter a competitor. Many prospects who do not buy from you the first time will come back to buy later. Existing customers will also remember you. They'll come back to buy again -- and they'll send pre-sold referrals to you. One easy way to establish a memorable identity is to create an important reason for customers to do business with you instead of with your competitors. The advantage you offer doesn't have to be dramatic to be memorable IF you promote it aggressively. It can be as simple as delivering faster results, more personalized attention or a better guarantee than your competitors. Tip: Combine several small advantages like those described above to create a big (and more memorable) advantage over your competitors. 2. Follow Up Consistently Most prospects do not buy the first time they see or hear about you. But they will if you follow up with them. Your follow up can be as simple as contacting them occasionally with a new offer. Or it can be more complex such as publishing a weekly newsletter with useful information and articles. If you don't already have a way to collect their address, you can get it by offering a valuable gift that you deliver only by email or postal mail. For example, offer a special report, a list of sources or some other valuable information they cannot get anywhere else. These are valuable to customers and prospects -- but they won't cost you much to provide. 3. Make Sure You Answer These 7 Buyer's Questions Prospective customers will not buy from you until all 7 of the following questions are answered. Customers may not consciously think about these questions. But they will not buy until all 7 are answered in their minds: 1: Exactly what are you offering? Make sure you answer all 7 of these buyer's questions in your web site, sales letters and other selling tools. Tip: Present everything in term of the benefit it provides to customers. For example, don't just list testimonials from satisfied customers (your answer to question 3). Point out that those testimonials prove you really do deliver what you promise. 4. Keep Your Ordering Procedure Simple Use an uncomplicated and fast ordering procedure. Every additional action you ask customers to perform and every additional decision you ask them to make after they already decided to buy can cause them to reverse their decision. For example, many online marketers use a shopping cart to process their orders when they could use a simple online order form. Each unnecessary step in the shopping cart process is an opportunity for customers to abandon their order ...a sale lost needlessly. Tip: Don't ask for unnecessary information during the ordering process. Instead, send a personalized "thank you" message after the sale and include a brief request for the additional information. Don't overlook the easy sales you can get from old prospects that are almost ready to buy? Use these 4 simple procedures to cultivate your "almost customers" and turn them into paying customers. Getting New Clients - When Only a Few is More Than Enough Many of the business owners I speak with are looking for a relatively small number of new clients. It isn't that they're not ambitious, it's just the size of their businesses doesn't warrant a larger objective. Typically they own service-based businesses with an annual turnover counted in the millions of dollars, not hundreds of millions. Is It Time To Kill Your Marketing Program? Ouch . . . sounds pretty drastic I know, but . . . Five New 5 Ps! NO! When I say "5 P's", I'm not talking about the big 5 P's of marketing everyone's familiar with. Survival Strategies 1. Do the moneymaking things first. Developing the Unique Selling Proposition The "Unique Selling Proposition" advertising campaign was developed by Reeves in 1961. Reeves proposed that marketers offer products different from their competitor' offerings by developing products that have a special formula, design, or feature. The product or service being marketed must be unique and important to the prospect. Finally, the USP can be an overt statement or implied through different marketing mechanisms. When Business Cards Arent Enough: Unusual, Unexpected, and Uncommon Networking Tips There comes a time in every small businessperson's life when common networking practices like handing out business cards, attending various meetings and schmoozing with potential clients only goes so far. Eventually, the same old techniques get overused to the point that they become insufficient. Ten Effective Ways to Capture Market 1.Evaluation of Existing Products / Therapies How to Use Flyers to Increase Your Business What benefits will you get from flyers? Sowing and Growing Your Network The N-word! We all know the value of networking and we feel we should be doing more of it. Unfortunately, for too many of us the very thought of attending an event where we have to mix and mingle with total strangers is enough to drive us into hiding until it's all over! What a pity we often force ourselves to go to a potentially great conference, but we're so busy worrying about the networking part that we forget to enjoy the event! The REAL Key To Successfully Marketing Any Product! The REAL key to successful marketing of any product is building relationships. The most successful tools for this strategy are forums, communities, coops and the new form of media desktop software, i.e. "Your Easy Street's" new Media Pilot. In order to properly build product sales, you must gain trust and understand the needs of the people you are selling to, or you'll get poor returns on your efforts and investments. The Value of a Good Sales Letter! Regardless of how many forms of promotional material you create, the simple yet very important sales letter never goes out of style. As a matter of fact a good sales letter should definitely be included as part of your marketing strategy for it can be the most effective tool over any other promotional material. A good sales letter gives you an opportunity to make a smashing impression right out of the gate. The following are some strategies to consider when preparing your letter. Pricing Strategies in Marketing Price is an often overlooked marketing strategy, as many tend to focus on promotions or advertising. Pricing strategies, however, can have a large impact on sales and (more importantly) profit. The price is what your customer pays and/or what the end consumer pays for a product or service. In the case of products not sold directly to the end user, pricing is often described as "wholesale" and "retail." When the distribution channel is long (such as when there is a manufacturer, broker/distributor, retailer, and end consumer), multiple mark-ups can occur between the wholesale and the retail price. How to Convey Trustworthiness in Direct Mail Marketing Sales Letter A person or business that might buy from you is called a prospect. But they might just as accurately be called a skeptic. We live in the age of the spam filter. And call-display. We live in what fellow-copywriter Herschell Gordon Lewis calls, "The Age of Skepticism." Mail Orders Most Common Mistakes THE GREAT MAIL ORDER MYTH There are a number of totally unrealistic beliefs about the mail order business. To belive in any of them can be dangerous to your pocketbook. Here are some of the most common ones: Marketing Miracles - Do They Just Happen? A simple answer to that is: Yes, Marketing Miracles happen! But, these marketing miracles do not just happen. The process is not instant. It is sequential. It takes planning and the planning requires decision and focus. The decisions must be well thought out and the focus must be spot on. Small Business Marketing Tip - Get Attention and Be Remembered We live in a world of noise ? not just auditory noise but total sensory overload. Everywhere we go marketing messages are shouting at us day and night. Hundreds of TV and radio stations, thousands of newspapers, magazines and books, millions of ezines, brochures, and leaflets, billions of emails and web pages. And unfortunately much of it is junk so it's hard to find the important stuff. PowerPositioning: WillYouAcceptThisRose.com Positioning is a powerful concept in marketing. To illustrate, have you ever visited a fast food restaurant, and, in a rush to complete your order asked for a coke when you "perhaps" meant to order some other soft drink? The Coke brand and its owners have achieved a top of mind awareness. Their brand name has become synonymous with a commodity that has a strong demand. A lot the brand's success may be attributed to being the first successful soft drink on the mass market, other possibilities may be due to their perpetual multi-million dollar global marketing campaigns that span life-times as well as cultures. Whatever the cause, the Coke brand has a very successful & fortified position. Keeping Pace with Business Marketing Today's business marketing rules are different than they were in years past. Those rules that once focused predominantly on local and regional business marketing have now gone global, thanks in large part to the creation of the Internet. Internet technology has brought the business world closer together and nowadays, it's just as easy to conduct business across the globe as it is to conduct business across town.
