The Terminus of Existence
Setting boundaries is a common expression that we hear almost daily. We hear of our need to set personal boundaries; an invisible dividing line drawn between ourselves and others, a line that represents the point where public space ends and our own private space begins, so to speak. We also hear of setting copyright boundaries, setting boundaries with our children, setting professional boundaries and so forth. We are all aware of governmental boundaries, state, city and county boundaries, international boundaries, territorial boundaries, air space boundaries, water boundaries, and boundaries of all kinds. Thus, we realize and understand that we cannot escape boundaries. Wherever we go and whatever we do, we encounter boundaries of some type. The boundary that we hear about less often is the boundary line between time and eternity. Death is the great divide. It is the line that separates the living and the dead. When we cross this boundary, we enter the realm of the unknown. When we cross this boundary, we cease to be inhabitants of time and become residents of eternity. While living in time, most of us try to respect boundaries as they are set forth by the various entities. Of course, we may overstep our bounds every now and then and suffer whatever consequence it may incur. Yet, we remain in time and continue on with life as usual. But when we cross the boundary of time, there is no return to life as usual. God has fixed the boundaries of our earthly existence beyond which we cannot pass. Death is not an accident, but the surrendering of life as we know it to Him at His pleasure and by His divine authority and will. This boundary line is the terminus of our time existence. And so we may as well accept the fact that our life is a steady progression through time. Life is a continual journey towards the terminus of existence. Some of us will go through at an accelerated speed while others of us will journey at a snail's pace but all of us are going towards that terminus of human existence on earth. Regardless of how hard we try to suppress it, evade it, deny it, we cannot avoid it. For every death is the ever present reminder of our own journey's end. With every death, we are compelled to feel how close we, the living, are to the region of the dead. There is only a step between the end of time and the beginning of eternity. It behooves us then to be concerned about how we use our time while we yet live in it. Eternity is in waiting! Rev. Saundra L. Understanding the Gospel of Matthew and Why it Matters - Part 6 Matthew 2:16-18 Is the Church a Friend to Survivors of Abuse? After 6 years, I left an abusive relationship with an X partner (we were NOT married) in October 2004. He had verbally, emotionally, psychologically, and sexually abused me since the birth of my daughter in October 2001. He also had abused my daughter physically, as well as in many of the same ways that he'd abused me, since she began crawling. He also neglected her. Relieve Me of Myself "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?" Mark 8: 34-36, NIV Spiritual Prosperity You will become as great as your dominant aspiration...If you cherish a vision, a lofty ideal in your heart, you will realize it.~James Allen, As You Think The Healing Hand of God "Praise the Lord, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits - who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. " Psalm 103:1-5, NIV. Spiritual Marketing Let me say that marketing can be a corrupting experience. In the wrong hands, marketing can create more frustration, more dishonesty and more greed than any occupation. An Open Invitation "All you who are thirsty, come and drink." ISAIAH 55:1, NCV Pioneering Insanity "They're crazy!" That's what they're saying about us. The majority of the people in America at this time in history do not channel spirits, do not converse with angels or aliens, do not astral project, do not know about any kind of higher vibration, and do not talk about Starseeds, Indigo Children, nor Lightworkers. They don't know anything about ancient secrets being coded into crystals nor about the healing effects of various stones. The only animals they talk to are their pets and they don't actually listen for any kind of a response. They don't talk to dead people. They have no idea what kind of a higher purpose or mission they might have been sent here to do. They have no idea what it is to have a voice from above speak to you and ask you to step out of the normal way of things to do some sort of holy spiritual work that will help guide or save humanity. They just go about their lives having no idea what it is to walk in our shoes. They call us crazy and sometimes it's difficult not to agree with them. Coming Home I find myself floating on a cloud as heavenly music plays. Jesus The Great Comforter! When Life is not fair! We see it all the time in people's lives someunwanted circumstance enters and life is turnedupside down. A loss of a job, an unexpected bill, sickness you name it. I think we have all said atone time or another, "gosh, life just doesn't seemto be fair. It does not suppose to be this way; itwasn't what I had planned." Mind Walls Walls as a blockade seem to be an integral part of our society. Almost from the beginning of man's pilgrimage here on earth, there have been walls which have bound and imprisoned mankind. These walls are designed supposedly to protect our society, to safeguard us from taboo and abnormal personality traits. But it should be considered that mankind down through the ages has deliberately and voluntarily erected walls to shut out segments of society. Allowing Joy "Ask and it shall be given" is a phrase we have all heard. I believe instead, "Ask and find yourself worthy of receiving." Willing to Walk with Jesus? Can two walk together unless they have agreed to do so? - Amos 3:3 Ten Soul-Tending Principles for Women Feeling restless? Is part of you calling out for change, though you don't yet know what that looks like, or what you most need? The Shamanic Approach to Healing for Animals On Shamans and Shamanism ... Shaman, a Tungus (Siberian) word, meaning "to heat", refers collectively to those indigenous tribal members who responsibility for their tribe centered on healing through spiritual means. These individuals were our first philosophers, prophets, priests, mystics, counselors, psychologists and doctors. Through ceremony and prayer ritual, the shaman explored exalted states of consciousness and their ecstatic spiritual experiences were responsible for bringing forth the information and methods, which ultimately evolved, into our current religions and medical practices. Kindness There is an inherent generosity in the human spirit to be of help, to be of service to others. What is it that makes us decide to be of service. What is it that inspires us and encourages us to be of support to others? What is it that makes you want to serve others. Email From God - Or, How Such Big Ideas Get Into Such Little Hands It happens to us all from time to time, especially to creative types - that diminishing little voice from deep inside that is convinced that the things we do are no big deal, simply because we did them and we have trouble seeing ourselves as authors of anything truly important. "Basically," the voice whispers in sad despair, "if I did it, then it must be stupid, easy, worthless..." and many other unhappy assessments. The Greatest Gift (Channelled) For the Glory of God One of the most touching stories in New Testament scripture is the gripping drama of two sisters and a brother; Mary, Martha and Lazarus. It illustrates how two sisters dealt with grief following the death of their brother. This story is so filled with meaning that John devotes an entire chapter to it. Thou Shalt Not Judge Judgement; What does this mean? The encyclopedia definition is, "The process of forming an opinion by discerning and comparing". The bible says, "Judge not, lest you be judged", and, "How many times as christians, do we do this?" Are we not to,"judge the sinners?" No, that is not our responsibility. Remember, what Jesus said, " I have not come to judge, but to save those that are lost". Jesus, the great I AM, did not come here to judge us by what we looked like. He, came here to save us from sin. So how, "If the great I AM accepts us, can we not do the same for others?" |
