Great Seats
And hath raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in heavenly [places] in Christ Jesus: We are seated together with Christ Jesus in the greatest luxury box there is Heaven. What a triumph we have is Christ who has blessed us with all spiritual blessing in God. Our seat with Christ gives us righteousness, sanctification, redemption and citizenship in Heaven. We cannot but be in awe of the gifts our Heavenly Father has given us. The verb "made us sit together" is in the aorist tense. The aorist tense is characterized by its emphasis on punctiliar action; that is, the concept of the verb is considered without regard for past, present, or future time. There is no direct or clear English equivalent for this tense, though it is generally rendered as a simple past tense in most translations. The Greek word for 'made us sit together' is sugkathizo {soong-kath-id'-zo} literally means to cause to sit down together, place together. How about that for great seats we are placed together with Christ Jesus. 'Heavenly' is the Greek word epouranios, a look at this word's definition. 1) Existing in heaven a) Things that take place in heaven b) The heavenly regions 1) Heaven itself, the abode of God and angels 2) The lower heavens, of the stars 3) The heavens, of the clouds c) The heavenly temple or sanctuary 2) Of heavenly origin or nature I like 1,b,1 'the abode of God and angels. When I read God's Word and see things like this I cry out, "What a merciful God we have." I do not deserve this amount of grace and the hardest thing about my Christian walk is realizing what I really have in our Lord Christ Jesus. The death he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer the parts of your body to sin as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace. Biblical Hermeneutics ? Part 1 Hermeneutics is the science and art of the interpretive process which begins by determining the original meaning of the Biblical text and leads to elucidation of its sense for the body of Christ today. It is concerned with the presuppositions that are brought to the interpretation of texts because it consciously or unconsciously influences conclusions drawn. Do Not Believe All You Read In The Holy Books Observation shows that human creative activity has a physical, a social and a spiritual aspect. (By human creative activity I mean useful and constructive activity by human beings). The physical aspect of our creative activity concerns our activity in relation to the physical universe. The social aspect relates mainly to human behaviour and interaction amongst humans. The spiritual aspect of our creative activity primarily concerns our activity in relation to God. Over time, mankind has acquired considerable knowledge of the physical universe. This knowledge has been classified as the physical and natural sciences. Knowledge we have acquired of human behaviour and interaction amongst humans has been classified as social science. This has not been the case with knowledge we have of the spiritual aspect of life. Such knowledge has not been classified as spiritual science. This is so because much of what at present constitute spiritual facts and beliefs cannot be considered as science. A lot of such facts are not backed by proof and many of the beliefs are not founded on reason. Unverifiable conjectures about phenomena and existence beyond this life are professed as truths. The situation at present is such that spiritual works available to us contain fiction, misconceptions, superstition and falsehood in addition to actual facts.
