What Is The Most Important Righteous Requirement Of Gods Law?
To live "under the law" is to live under theexpectation of fulfilling God's moral standardsthrough one's own human ability. However, rather thanexperiencing the joy of a clean conscience, wesometimes feel enslaved to legalism and guilt. The problem is not with God's moral standards but withthe sinful nature of humanity. James 1:14-15 But every man is tempted, when he isdrawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then whenlust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Therefore one is to walk by means of the Spirit,(which is eternal) and not walk by means of the flesh(which is death). Both are systems that are complete in themselves. Tounderstand one is to also understand the other. If one chooses to walk by the Spirit, then ofnecessity one has to avoid walking in the flesh. To walk in this case means to organize one's lifearound one of these governing principles. For instance, for walking by means of the Spirit, thegoverning principle is the ministry of the Spirit ofGod in one's life. To walk by the flesh is to succumbto the moods and appetites of the flesh. When that is done, the flesh will produce verypredictable habits or works. Galatians 5:19-21 Now the works of the flesh aremanifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envying, murders, drunkenness, revelling, and such like: of the which I tell youbefore, as I have also told you in time past, thatthey which do such things shall not inherit thekingdom of God. Likewise walking by means of the spirit will producethese predictable habits of works. Galatians 5:22-23. But the fruit of the Spirit islove, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is nolaw. Jesus was the only man who ever lived that nevercommitted a single sin, and that's why He was theperfect candidate to die for our sins. Romans 8:3-4 "For what the law could not do in that itwas weak through the flesh, God did by sending His ownSon in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account ofsin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteousrequirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who donot walk according to the flesh but according to thespirit". Salvation depends on the mercy of God, not on meritsfrom good deeds or sacrifice of people. We don't earnsalvation like a diploma, that's a free gift. But God allows His people to be tempted . His purposeis not to intimidate us or trick us into "wrongdecisions". Instead, He intends to strengthen us, andteach us to depend on His counsel and guidance. John 3:16. "For God so loved the world, that he gavehis only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Himshould not perish but have everlasting life." Because of Christ, we know that obedience to Godincludes trusting in the cross of Christ forsalvation. Those who reject this provision arechoosing eternal death. That's why it is extremely important that you acceptJesus Christ as your Lord and Savior! Just think, if you accept Jesus as your Lord andSavior, God is so merciful that He will easily forgiveyou of your sins, because Jesus took the punishmentthat we deserved when He was on the cross. That's what it means when people say "He died for us".All we have to do is sincerely and meaningfullyconfess our sins to God, repent and ask forforgiveness. Romans 3:23. "For all have sinned, and come short ofthe glory of God." With exception to our Lord Jesus Christ who is alsothe son of God and man. Sexual Deviants and the Catholic Church It is unfortunate that the Catholic Church seems to continue their abuse and molestation of our youth and children. Yet it is not all that surprising, since they are sworn to celibacy and there are known and documented physiological needs of man. Raging hormones in our youth and desire throughout our lives is a given of the human species. Asking someone to be celibate is problematic and makes sense that it would come with some baggage. For centuries the Catholic Church has raped, molested and had homosexual sex with orphans, alter boys and children of parishioners. Many nuns suddenly became pregnant certainly this was not believed to be divine intervention. Top Ten Religion Quotations Review your religious beliefs with these revealing quotations all about religion... Falsehoods There are many different church denominations in this year of 2005 that is offering same sex marriage. This is an abomination before God. Lets see what the Bibles say about this matter. Look at Matthew 7:15 it says Watch out for false prophets. They come to you sheep 's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. Catholic Voters Need to Rethink Morality If Catholic doctrine calls for the sanctity of all human life, then why is it that church leaders implicitly endorse Republican candidates that are pro-life at the expense of all else. In fact, the sanctity of life doctrine stands directly in opposition to the death penalty as well as abortion. Nevertheless, The Tablet, the official weekly newspaper of the Diocese of Brooklyn, is far more enamored with abortion than the death penalty and our President who executed approximately 30 people as the governor of Texas in 1999. Iesa and Jesus in the Pyramid The Sun god, Mithras, was the most widely worshipped deity in the Roman Empire in the first century when Christianity was first forming. Mithras was called the Son of God, the light of the world, he was a redeemer and savior and his birthday was celebrated on December twenty-fifth. He eventually died and was buried in a cave and was resurrected three days later. Sound familiar? Constantine is said to have converted to Christianity but that is pure 'Spin' from the editor of the Bible. He was a Mithras worshipper and they are Heliopolitans or Luciferians just like Hitler and his 'torch-bearer' crap. IESA is in Iesoos of the fish symbol and IXOYE as well as many other pre-Christian things they appropriated; which the Father of Biblical Archaeology says shows the Bible is a 'Phoenician literary legacy'. It is not the first time you have heard about it. The Story of Adam and Eve To really understand how we all got here, what it really means to be "born again" and why there is so much death and destruction in the world we live in - you have to go back to the very beginning to the story of Adam and Eve as told to us in the Bible. Beauty Some people say beauty is only skin deep, others say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I like to wonder who proclaim beauty and who decided what is or what is not beauty. Let's see what the Bible says. Look at Eccclesiastes 3:11 it says He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from the beginning to the end. I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live. That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his toll-this is the gift of God. I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him. Why Cardinal Ratzinger Chose the Name Pope Benedict XVI Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger was elected to the papal throne on April 19, 2005, the second day of the conclave. He chose to be known henceforth as Pope Benedict XVI. The cardinal from Germany is the 265th pope in the Catholic Church history. Development of Liberal Theology: An Overview (Part 3) As senior pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of New York, Fosdick preached a sermon one Sunday in 1922 that aroused the righteous indignation of fundamentalists and he suddenly found himself at the center of a heated theological controversy. In order to understand the tension that existed between fundamentalism and modernism, it is necessary that I briefly delineate the fundamentalist position at that time. Imagine Some people imagine what glory will behold them at the end of this age, others wonder what it will be like to be like Jesus Christ. Well let's see what the Bible says about this. Look at Colossians 1:15 it says He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities, all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. Biblical Hermeneutics ? Part 3 Instead of being passive consumers of Biblical commentary, we can participate in the forming of a very particular, but no less authentic, commentary of our own. The only thing that should happen between text and commentary is exegesis, not homiletics. In other words, we should not become reliant on them. Continued dependence on commentaries will handicap or hinder the development of exegetical skills needed to do independent pre-commentary study. This is why it is probably safest to consult more than one commentary and to consult it at the end of the exegetical process and not the beginning. Sex, Lies, & Videotape; Part 2 Acts 5:1-5:10 Sex, Lies and Videotape Part 2. Lies. What are lies? Is a lie an untruth, an omission of all the facts, is it a sin or unrightiouness, is it something that people use to cover-up lawlessness , or is a lie when you withhold all the facts? Yes, to all the above. A lie is a degration of ones own spirit, it gets into a persons attitude and lingers there like a leach, draining the lifes force out of them so that after a while, it becomes second nature not to tell the truth. The Dark Side of The Pope If you look at just the man/women after he/she has died, what part of the humanity do you eulogize? Money And Religion: How Christians Are Being Misled Today's Christian Evangelists, Teachers, and Preachers Are Grossly Misleading America And The World, Concerning Money Contributions. A Gentle God I was in my late teens when I first read Henry Barbusse's Under Fire, a novel set in the first world war trenches. It led me to consider the question: who does God listen to when He is bombarded with the prayers of different nations and religions, all equally convinced that He is on their side? Sex, Lies, & Videotape; Part 3 Conclusion Crazy in Love Several years ago my cousin was pleased to find out that she wasn't going crazy, she found out that what she suffered from was O.C.D. or better known as "obsessive, compulsive disorder". Just knowing that what she suffered from had a name and could now be treated with proper medication and through the power of knowlege, she could contend with it on a more positive level. At least it was confirmed that she was not crazy. Through lack of knowlege, we however are quick to label this sickness as a brain disorder or just someone who is crazy.Obsessive compulsive disorder causes repeated behavior by the sufferer to the point that we veiw them as 'not normal'. Anyone who doesn't suffer from this to some degree can't imagine why anyone would keep repeating a certain action when they know it was already completed. But this where lack of knowlege comes in.When we aren't educated properly,we lack understanding and then rely on our opinions and not truth. Let Her Be Covered Part Three Now, let's recall again the text: "Let her be covered." That is God's decree. Teamwork in Ministry: Pauls Sense of Partnership in the Gospel In the pursuit of his Christian ministry, the Apostle Paul had a keen sense of teamwork, teamwork with God and with his brothers and sisters. This awareness he expresses by using compound Greek words that begin with the prepositional prefix, sun-. With an object in the dative case, sun means "together" or "with." This same prepositional prefix has carried over into English, occurring in such words as "symbiotic," "symphony," "synergy" (the Greek sun-, represented by sym- or syn-). What follows is a brief survey of the words Paul employed to express this sharing of ministry. You will discover that such sharing continues among 21st-century Christians.
