The Most Famous Line I Never Wrote
There is one line that can dramatically impact your life and I want to share this quote with you but first let me explain... There will be many obstacles in your path on your road to success. It's like driving down the road and seeing a tire in the middle of the road blocking your path. Are you going to remove that tire and continue on? Or are you going leave it there and turn around and go back from where you came? Hopefully you chose to remove that tire from your path so that you can get to where you want to go! The same can be said when you are trying to succeed online. You will be tested at times. Obstacles will be placed in your path on your road to success. And what you do with those obstacles can literally mean the difference between success and failure. I would like to take a quote from the book "Think And Grow Rich" from Napolean Hill. It can be found at Amazon.com or your local bookstore. This line has great meaning in my life and I hope for yours as well. "Every adversity, every failure and every heartache brings with it the Seed of an equivalent or a greater benefit" Do not let any obstacle great or small stand in your way of success. The more you overcome the closer you will be in getting to your destination. If you let your obstacles overcome you and then turn around and quit then sadly you deserve the fate your in. Turn a negative into a positive... If you are in a bad environment or situation or disgusted with something then channel that emotion into desire to help you get out of it. Turn a negative into a positive... If there is something that you can't do or are not good at then create a partnership with somebody who can do it. Focus on your strengths. Turn a negative into a positive... If you fail at something you do then learn from it by not repeating the same mistakes the next time around. Turn a negative into a positive... Defeat is only temporary. NEVER let it be permanent! Regroup and do things differently to turn that defeat into victory. Turn a negative into a positive... Living Authentically in a Masked World Humanity seems to be the only species that never seems pleased with its own. People tend to spend the majority of their life living up to an illusion that no one has ever been able to attain. It is the illusion of perfection. The problem is, that is a course that is marked with failure and pain. Someone came up with the concept that people should be wafting through the fields picking lilies and singing songs of the angels. If you stay on this course you will never measure up. You were not meant to. A Rush Home to Rapture Riding a rush, being juiced, flying high-this is the feeling we strive for every day. A Little Blessing Changes Everything "We're on a one-game winning streak!" That's what freshman Dawan Boxley said after his basketball team, the Rutgers-Camden Pioneers, beat Bloomfield College 77 to 72, snapping a five-year, 117-game losing streak. Imagine losing every game for five years; how depressing that must have been for the team, the coach, and the entire school! But what a joy when that buzzer sounded and game 118 turned out differently. Beautiful Day Blues The massive orb dominates the aqua crystalline backdrop of its own making, floods its rays on everything below. The sky devoid of a single cloud seems as empty as I feel and the beach looks like an arid desert, molded by tireless wind and blazing heat. I picture myself atop an Arabian camel, parched with thirst, crossing an unforgiving series of never-ending dunes, up one and down the next, no rhyme nor reason, only the nose of the animal in front of me. Beluga Whale Hits the River Wonders never cease. Just when those in our area of the Delaware River were beginning to recover from the recent floods, a whale arrives to shake things up. This turned out to be the best present I was ever bought and I quickly became hooked on the game. My friends would regularly come round to my house for a game and when they were not there I would practice on my own. Why Self Esteem Matters A number of years ago I worked for one of the UK's top IT companies -- a global player. We were meeting to discuss a major bid, and the room was filled with people who didn't meet often -- the most senior managers from a number of divisions. There were very few middle tier managers in the room, almost exclusively senior managers who were accustomed to being 'top dog'. The atmosphere in that room was almost tangible. I wanted to bottle the air and analyse it later -- I had never experienced such naked power, and it dawned on me in that moment that we are almost blind to the status signals we transmit. Rightful Owner Direct Answers - Column for the week of January 20, 2003 Consulting Your Soul Recently I approached a traffic light where a man stood in shabby clothes with a three-legged dog by his side. As I waited for the light to change I looked at this scene with compassion and felt an urge to contribute something. The sign he was carrying indicated that he was homeless. The people in my car commented that he was a strong young man, there were plenty of employment opportunities, and why should anyone give to people who are capable of working. They indicated a kind of mild contempt for this man soliciting funds whom they felt "should" be working. My thoughts were on him and the fact that he cared for and fed this crippled dog. I rolled down the window and gave him several dollars for which he expressed enormous gratitude. Change Those of you, who can fathom yourselves welcoming and enjoying a big, major change in your life right now, raise your hands! When I say, change, it might be a good change and it might be a bad change. Either way, we all don't know what that change is going to be like, what aspect of our lives is going to change and we might not even be happy with it. The Road Not Taken Direct Answers - Column for the week of November 24, 2003 Care And Maintenance Of The Human Hard Drive The human brain is very much like a hard drive. If you stop to think of it, they are both filled with billions of tiny bits of information, stored in the memory cells just waiting to be accessed. They both use electrical energy to find those bits and put them together to recreate something that we have placed there. They work on demand, and we expect them to instantly give us what we want. Words That Can Leave You Powerless The lines below come from this weeks mind treatment, written by Rev. Angelica Jayne who is a regular weekly contributor to this site. Misery Can Eat You Alive This is a true story about a woman I worked with for several years. Abused as a Child Child abuse is a much more common event, than is usually expressed in public. I recently attended an event, where people were asked to discuss their darkest secrets. Out of the thirty or so women in the room, nearly two thirds expressed their darkest secret as, being about child abuse and two had had terminations, created by a family member.
