The book is one of the best ones written about Kashmir in recent times. The book is simple, factual, and undoubtedly as accurate as it can get. The book itself is divided into 19 chapters in three different sections. The first part of the book is about the pre- British India and the history of the Indian subcontinent with strong emphasis about Kashmir. It also mentions about the state of affairs in Kashmir and how the rule of kings led to is management of affairs and the ultimate accession of Kashmir to India. The World is Flat - This Book by Thomas L Friedman has Taken the Online Entrepreneurs by Storm The New York Times' columnist visits India often. I read about his new book The World is Flat in his interview with a leading Indian National newspaper. The tête-à-tête in general awakened my senses.. most of the interview revolved around internet and its major impact on business community in general. Let us focus upon one facet - the possibility of making money online. Book Review - As the Darkness Deepens by Michael Cale Newton's Third Law of Motions states that "For ever action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." Michael Cale's latest novel, As the Darkness Deepens, is an interesting study in this universal law as it relates to the forces of good and evil. While this is a common storyline, Cale's strong characterization and the powerful climax give an otherwise trite subject substance to formulate a solid story. Bobo has been the standard work for magicians who either do, or want to do coin magic. It is an encyclopedic compilation of sleights, tricks and routines by the world's best coin magicians up till 1966, when the book was last updated. Straight from the Gut - A Different Take on Business Jack Welsh, the recently retired CEO of General Electric, presents a rare glimpse into how to build a successful organization in his book, "Straight from the Gut." His honesty and openness is refreshing and reaffirms that success is sometimes built from failure, but more often from calculated planning and the willingness to take risks. My Dad Wears Polka-dotted Socks! - Review "Bright colored sheets just inside the sturdy book cover certainly set the mood for this excellent book geared for children between the ages of 4 and 8. Amapola - Book Review Alan Heywood writes a stimulating, though sometimes improbable, adventure novel in Amapola. What I mean by this is that the characters are seemingly very lucky or were simply at the right place, at the right time. Yet, other scenes are somewhat reminiscent of a James Bond movie. I liked the humor Alan dabbled throughout the novel and admired the strong female characters. This book certainly has a heavy slant towards the importance of friendships and a pro-Canada theme ? which I loved. Review of Alicia Maldonado: A Mother Lost by Ardain Isma This modern, aristocratic book portrays real-life events and how hard it is to deal with them, overcome them, or even struggle with them. Such is life, anywhere you put it, in the Caribbean or otherwise. Many people might have problems dealing with the material in this book. But it's involving, shocking, yet mellifluously elegant in its portrayal of a wealthy woman's humble and downtrodden existence. She cannot fathom the dark side of life, and in her pure yet misguided rebellion, she becomes a metaphoric symbol for humanity in general--not to mention impoverished, yet mysteriously happy. Kmarts Ten Deadly Sins - AchieveMax® Top Ten Book Review Kmart's Ten Deadly Sins: How Incompetence Tainted an American Icon was begging to be written. It probably would have surfaced much earlier if not for the fear of many authors that publishing too soon would result in the omission of who knows how many future bewildering tactics by the forever transforming retail giant, K-mart. Actually, contrary to my early assumption, this book is less an indictment of K-mart than it is a combination of warnings and lessons to everyone else. There are so many negative examples in the news today of how NOT to succeed in business. However, many organizations fail to acknowledge or learn from these examples. Book Summary: Networking For Professional Success Book Summary: Druxel Manor - Book Review "Druxel Manor is a stimulating thriller-mystery-romance novel that keeps the reader guessing. Who do you trust? Everyone seems to know a little something but no one is willing to explain ? or rather, what is revealed only creates more confusion. Stewie Griffin Depicts the Winter of Spenglers Discontent Oswald Spengler predicted a protracted winter in The Decline of The West. Spengler wasn't alone in his depiction of a distopian society where fashion reigns over utility, luck is dominant, bureaucracy squelches progress and the rich have a firm hold on the reigns of an incipient global culture. Spengler was one of the first to be taken seriously. |
