Gods and Energy
An interesting question that frequently comes up is "Which Gods do you follow or worship?" My usual, and frequently misunderstood, answer is ? "none and all of them". I don't debate the existence, validity or 'good'ness or 'bad'ness of any of the various deities. If you feel it and believe it then it's real and it exists, if only for you. Energy work and spirituality are deeply personal areas of study and the simple fact is that thoughts have energy. When you direct your thoughts toward something then you do, in fact, create it. Gods are energy. To be more precise the various Gods in the various religions represent the various aspects of the common energy that we all share. For instance, in the Celtic pantheon there exists Lu´gh (slight misspelling as I can't get my computer to put the accent in the right place) also known as the Many Gifted Lord, Master of the Stag and Keeper of the Spear. Lugh represents a very specific energy and is also represented as the master of all illumination and symbolized by a burning spear. Having a pretty good background in Kundalini Awakening it's easy for me to see him also as representative of the fiery kundalini energy that flows up ones spine and through the brain, illuminating ones life and the path to follow. We're all a part of the same energy and we're all connected through it. Once you learn to feel that energy then you can begin to get deeper and learn to feel the differences in the energy between various people and objects. We each have a specific energy signature the same way we have a specific smell, voice and way of walking. What it's really all about is building up your own personal catalog of how things feel. Unfortunately the only way to do this is to spend a LOT of time feeling different things. With practice you can learn to distinguish between the people in your training group simply by feeling their energy. You can also learn to connect to the energy of various people or places simply by feeling it. If I were an ancient Druid I would have spent a couple of decades feeling and learning about that energy. As a Druid part of my job would have been teaching about that energy and our connection to Nature to people who didn't have the same background and abilities. It only makes sense to put it into terms that can be easily understood by people who don't have a decade to train for it. Do this exercise; Face West and visualize a fertile plain with the sun setting beyond it. The colors are vivid and bright. Lugh appears surrounded by a radiant halo and with a blinding point of light at the tip of his spear. Don't think about anything or try to connect with anything, just pay attention to the feelings that you have with this vision. Can you feel the energy flowing up your spine? Do you feel your aura begin to brighten as Lugh's energy flows into and through you? Now take a moment and send out a feeling of gratitude for Lugh and to the universe at large, for having made it through another day and witnessing a beautiful sunset. Remember the feeling that you had with this exercise. If your energy is strong enough then you can recapture that feeling at any time. Does that mean that Lugh doesn't exist when you touch the energy without the ritual? Of course not. Some people need the ritual, and in fact the rituals can be an excellent way to help people feel the energy for themselves as well as a way for many of us to combine our energies to use for a specific purpose or just to create a little more sacred space. Energy is a tool, and different situations require a different energy (at the beginning levels). Connecting to the proper energy is easier when you have a clear tool to help you visualize and remember the feel of it. Gods are an excellent way of storing the feel and intent of the different aspects of the energy and easily accessing it so that you can use it. Teaching about the Gods is also an excellent way to help teach the feel of the energy to students who may not know what it feels like yet. That's one of the things that make teaching about subtle energy so difficult, the fact that it is subtle. I can tell you what it feels like for me, but I can't tell you how it should feel to you. By using a ritual for the Gods a person can access those specific aspects of the energy and learn to feel it for themselves. At the Druid level it allows us to access those energies and pass it on so that people without our training can feel it as well. This can be applied to pretty much any aspect of life. A Druid Healer can not only access the healing aspects of Brigid (from the Irish traditions) but can help lay healers also connect to the energy by teaching them to feel Brigid and interact with her. Energy is just energy. It's not good or bad, light or dark or smart or stupid. It just IS. It's what you do with it that defines its effects. The Gods are how we use that energy in a variety of ways. It's easy to see how the deeper spirituality of this could get lost or misunderstood. In some cases all we have left is the dogma that went with the energy, but very little real intention or understanding of how to use it. That doesn't mean that a ritual conducted for a Celtic, Greek, or any other God is useless without the deeper energy work. You don't have to be a carpenter to use a hammer and a saw. --- Robert Morgen is a Reiki Master who currently holds aBlack Belt in Hoshin Roshi Ryu. Anamchara - Living The Real Life "Is this the real life?Is this just fantasy?Caught in a landslideNo escape from reality." Path to Healing Some wounds are embedded so deeply that no amount of professional expertise can cure, much less heal. A famous Yale surgeon says that as a surgeon, he cuts into the body, but he can not order the wound to heal. Ultimately, it is through our efforts that healing can occur. The path to healing is a personal choice. It is a path where you choose to piece together the fragmentsand make it" whole" again. It paves the way to self-discovery, to open the door to your inner selfand experience inner harmony. And ultimately, come tomeet the child within that has longed for your love ,care and attention. The child within that is forgotten, pushed to the background, lurks in the shadows, but patiently waits to be acknowledged.WHAT NEEDS HEALING?Childhood trauma:The imprints of childhood experience is a powerfulforce. An expectant mother who lives through a stressful situation during pregnancy share the burden with the unborn child. Years ago, domestic matters were never discussed openly, especially issues about abuse, violence, neglect , abandonment and other related matters. Today, society is more aware of the potential or actual existence of abuse and violence in the home. Tragic that the innermost and safest sanctuary societydepends upon can be the most dangerous. These are issues that take its toll on the young victims. They growup with wounds, carry them around like a heavy load on their shoulders. Some never get over their trauma,it turns up at the most unexpected moment to haunt them;yet, there are those who are lucky enough to confrontit and use it to propel themselves to a healthier mind, body and spirit, successful relationships and life itself. When love is a venom:How many hearts have known pain all in the name of love. It invades lives from all walks of life, social status, add to that race or creed. No one wants to suffer pain, but it does happen. Healing a broken heart, picking upthe pieces of broken hopes and dreams, suffer the betrayal ,endure shattered self-image, re-live the haunting nightmares, the violation of one's innermost being, soul and spirit...it can take a lifetime to heal. The most traumatic of all is the violation that comes from those who are supposed to provide a nurturing environment to those who are entrusted to their care. All in the guise of love.GriefThe loss of a loved one can be most devastating. Sometimes one did not have a chance to bid their last farewell. It was all too sudden.Or one passes away after a lingering illness, with the relief that the suffering is over comes the grief of the loss. At one point and time in one's life, grief is a reality.GuiltWrong turns, wrong choices, wrong decisions-we all take wrong turns, make wrong decisions and choices. This is a human trait, even the saintliest of the saints has experienced this. We stumble, we fall, but many of us manage to get up and get on with life. The losses incurred at times may be life-threatening, or at the costof financial comfort and security or worst, relationshipsare threatened, lost ,sadly but innocently or unconsciously someone else has to bear consequences and the sacrifice.Wearing guilt on your sleeves, in your heart, in your beinginvites negative vibrations and digs you deeper into the mire.Take a look at those sad eyes, the window of the soul ,and you'll know. However, this is not a dead-end!Unfulfilled dreams and hopesLive your dream, ride on the wings of hope- this willnot always work out. One day you wake up and realize your dream never materialized and now you languish over the many years you spent trying to pursue that dream! All this while, time, opportunities and life passed you by .Hope can lead to disappointment- realize this. When all hopes are dashed , what have you got?PATH TO HEALING:Healing is a complex matter. Who has never felt the pains of suffering, be it physical, mental, emotional, material and spiritualEven our dear Mother Earth is in desperate need of healing from the abuse inflicted upon her through man's recklessness, negligence and lack of respect. There are avenues open to healing. One may choose to spend time with a professional, seek comfort from related groups, from family, but always, healing has to startwith oneself, from within that deep well of strength .It takes determination to face up to your dilemma, but, ultimately,it is most rewarding to regain your personalpower, self-confidence, learn to love yourself and enjoythat inner peace and calm.It is important to acknowledgethe pain, to recognize the cause, to be able to integrate the fragmented pieces and be willing to take it to the next step to be "whole"again. Then, you will be able to share love and peace with the world once again.Healing extends beyond the physical state- when the painis so deep, the spirit, the soul also bear the pain. It comes in hauntingly in the dark of the night , it fills a once loving heart with venom, it could ravage a once healthy mind and body. Beneath a once beautiful and graceful soul is the mask of vengeance.Venom for venom.BLOCKS TO HEALINGSometimes, the path to healing is full of potholes. Indeed, the path is covered with blocks, where healingcan not be accomplished,it's almost out of reach.Impediments on the path:denial, apathy, self-absorption and self-indulgence,addiction, putting up walls and barriers, busy-bee syndrome, compartmentalizing, isolation, withdrawal from society, cynicism, loss of faith, trust and compassion,self-pity, poor ?me syndrome, anger, fear of gettinghurt again, martyr complex, neurosis or psychosis, aggressive/ oppressive behaviour, confrontational attitudeguilt complex, resignation, loss of motivation.Sometimes, we hurt those we love most deeply, likewise, we bear the pain they cause. Time is a great healer, but don't take the painfully slow route and miss out on what the world holds for you.Let life flow for you and with you.E N D . Universal Law Primer Universal Law is an invisible influence in every individual's life, whether we realize it or not. It is invisible because we cannot see it anymore than we can see the God who created it. We can see only the evidence of its existence by recognizing its effect on our lives. Universal Law is an expanding and contracting vibration, always in motion. Every soul on every life level is responsible for its own interpretation of the law and chooses if and how the law will be applied within a current lifetime. Surviving the Tsunami--Animals and Their Connection with the Spiritual World When the Tsunami struck Asia and East Africa on December 26, 2004 more than 220,000 humans died, but amazingly the wild animals escaped without harm. The Importance and Necessity of Special Revelation - Part Two Part Two Continued Will the World Really End on December 12, 2012? I was recently asked how I interpreted the Mayan and Hopi predictions that the world, as we know it, will end on the 21st of December 2012. Would there be global war - possibly triggering a nuclear holocaust? Would the planet's life forms finally succumb to the ecological quagmire that's been building in our soils, oceans and atmosphere? Would the current steady increase of previously unknown diseases overcome our ability to defend against them? Or will we suddenly move into a new Golden Age in which the lion lies down with the lamb and struggle, pain, and suffering are gone forever? The Path Less Traded - the Spiritual Road to Financial Abundance! There is nothing more valuable to a sentient being then peace of mind that comes from living each day from a place of love. The alternative is an existence where perception is based on fear as taught to us by the ego. The ego teaches us that we are separate from one another; that grandiosity through competitiveness is the path to our greatness because scarcity of resources is the nature of our existence. Spiritual Surrender: Let Nature Be Your Teacher Although spring is just around the corner, there have been days lately where it feels as though it will never be here. I am not a cold weather person and I never have been. I often kid with people that when it came my time to come to Earth I had requested to live someplace like Tahiti, somehow my request was confused with someone else's who had asked for cold weather and I ended up in the hills of Connecticut. Not funny! As I sit here in this cold, April weather waiting for spring, the one thing I am sure of is that spring will come. Before I know it the snow will have melted and the grass will be green. The daffodils and tulips will be blooming in all of their colorful glory and I will feel the warmth of the spring sun on my face. Expect the Best and Get It The famous prayer of Jabez, where Jabez prayed for prosperity, is a model of expectant thinking that we can all benefit from. "And Jabez called upon the God of Israel saying "Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I might not cause pain." So God granted him what he requested." 1 Chronicles 4:10. Real Spirituality My fiancee' and I frequent a restaurant in L.A. called Real Food Daily. The concept behind the name is that their food -- which is unprocessed, abundantly nutritious, and lovingly prepared -- is more authentic, more "real," than most other food. This claim is at once silly and wise. Silly because philosophers have argued about the true nature of "reality" for centuries. Wise because it's an admissible philosophy that the closer something is to its source, the more "real" it is. Awakening from the Dream, Divine Source through Barbara Rose Greetings my Dear Beloved Souls A Crash Course in Tarot #3: Card Spreads Most Tarot decks consist of 78 cards: 22 Major Arcana, and 56 Minor Arcana cards. The Minor Arcana consist of four "suits", just like a deck of regular playing cards. Grace - The Divine Influence of God The greatest frustration in a Christian's life is not being able to get what they believe to work in their lives. Spiritual Spring Cleaning, Making Room for More Do you ever get into those moods where you just can't stand to look at clutter anymore and start filling garbage bags? Maybe it's Spring Fever, but I have a deep desire for simplicity lately. Not just in my physical surroundings, but emotionally, professionally, and spiritually too -- I have been "purging" the unnecessary from my life. Wear the Message of Grace: A Work Weeks Devotions As the artist and designer for Ashbach Designs, I want more than for you to just wear a piece of pretty jewelry, I want you to wear each piece as a symbol of your faith. In keeping with this idea, I have created a work week's devotions to go with your jewelry, or another special faith symbol in your life. Each day, meditate on how you can use your jewelry to connect with others, share the message, and remind yourself where your true passion lies. Monday: Connect Colossians 2:2-3 "My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." Book Ends In the responsibility we have as Christians, we are displayed before non believers as a set of books that should be read. Once the Holy Spirit comes upon us, our library grows into the fruits that are produced in our Christian walk. You Can Influence Your Fortunes In Life Natural laws exist that serve to maintain order in the universe. These laws are usually manifested as regularity in nature (as in the seasons) or as a relationship between cause and effect. In the physical realm natural laws exist which govern the behaviour of matter. Examples of such laws are Newton’s Laws of Motion. In the social aspect of life, natural laws also exist that regulate human activity. The Law of Demand and Supply is an example of such a law. This phenomenon is also manifested in the spiritual aspect of life. Universal and immutable spiritual laws exist which govern human creative activity. Surviving Separation: A Cinderella Story I want to tell you a love story. It's actually about a girl named Cinderella. I'm sure you're familiar with the fairy tale but I'm going to tell you the TRUE story. Echos Transition Echo was a flea-bitten gray horse, with brown speckles everywhere, and crystal clear hairs in her mane and tail. We met in October, 1976, when she was a broodmare on an Arabian farm in New York State. A beginner at riding doesn't usually start out with a novice horse, but I fell in love at first sight of her. Somehow, over the years, we learned how to have great times and not get in trouble. We enjoyed trail riding and had fun doing dressage, too. Echo loved to be ridden and to gallop across field. She was always as eager for my companionship as I was for hers. Actualizing Personal Truth Self-actualization comes down to three basic premises: this is who I am, this is what I believe and the foundation on which my life is built, and this is the way I manifest that belief system on a daily basis. |
