Biblically Speaking of Evil and National Security
We have been learning to think Biblically and speak Scripturally about evil in order to teach our children about the dangers present in our fallen world, while setting our affections on things above (Colossians 3:2) and staying Spiritually minded (Romans 8:6). We first noticed that "it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret" (Ephesians 5:12), so we don't speak of those things. Righteousness can be encouraged over unrighteousness by noting that God rewards the righteous and curses unrighteous (Deuteronomy 11:26). The rewards of righteousness are many and include: Godly knowledge, wisdom, and understanding (Proverbs 1:7), peace and joy in the Holy Ghost (Romans 14:17, Galatians 5:22-23), and everlasting life (Romans 6:22). The curses which follow unrighteousness are the result of God giving the unrighteous person (or group of persons, Luke 17:29) over to: uncleanness, vile affections, a reprobate mind, being filled with unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness, envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity, whispering, backbiting, hating God, despitefulness, pride, boasting, inventing evil, disobedience to parents, a lack of understanding, covenant breaking, unnatural affections, implacability, being unmerciful, adultery, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrathfulness, strife, seditions, heresies, drunkenness, reveling. The unrighteous are said to be worthy of death and will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Romans 1:18-19, Galatians 5:19-21). It seems important for Christians to be able to directly identify and correlate theses curses, where present in the world, as the result of God's judgment. Then the Christian can share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in context, as the only power which can remove the curse from a willing person or group. It appears equally important for us to recognize when an individual or group will not hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:33). "And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city." Mark 6:11 At every secular educational institution, the unrighteous choice to reject "The fear of the Lord" (Proverbs 1:7) has resulted in God giving these institutions over to all of the curses listed above. The unwritten curriculum coming from these institutions is therefore an education in rejecting "the fear of the Lord," which has resulted in a "highly" cursed nation of people. Terrorists were also educated in a cursed pedagogy from which they perform their, more obviously, destructive career. The Scriptures demonstrate that blessings come to people as they are obedient to God and curses come to people as a result of their disobedience to God (Deuteronomy 11:26). The blessing of a secure nation, therefore, does not depend on government spending or modern defense electronics. It depends more on the choices that the Church makes to learn and love the Scriptures, live by the faith of the Son of God, and share the good news of righteousness through Jesus Christ. "Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;" De 11:26"The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD." Biblical Hermeneutics ? Part 2 Should we be tempted to believe that our system of interpretation is the only system that has ever existed, Ramm makes it very clear in his discussion of the "historical schools" that this is not so. The "Battle for the Bible" may have, in fact, been born as the second century Christian exegetes, who were influenced by Jewish Biblical scholarship, espoused a literal reading of Scripture which assumed its historical accuracy and included a healthy respect for questions of context. Around the same time these interpreters (referred to by Ramm as the School of Antioch) were not exclusively concerned with the Bible's literal sense; they were equally concerned to interpret Scripture at a level that transcended its historical-literal dimension. This school of thought judged Scripture to be reliable and true on the basis of its conformity to orthodox Christian doctrine. In essence, Scripture judged the church, but it was the church who judged what was scriptural; and at this point the church was still involved in the process of assessing the value and authority of many Christian documents, only some of which made it into the canon. Gay Marriage Hitting Resistance Gay marriage is hitting significant resistance in Washington D.C. where a huge Gay contingency exists. Some homosessual men have been seen in the streets of our Nation's Capital protesting our country's laws against gay marriage. They have been seen on TV marching in protest in Gay Pride Parades carrying on. Many of these gay couples work in Washington D.C. and are running our country and have infiltrated many government agencies. Many are Lawyers and Lobbyists. A few have found Churches willing to endorse gay marriage in order to receive the homosexual citizen's rich tithing. Sealed With the Holy Spirit At the moment of salvation when we accept Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior, three most amazing things will happen. The first is that we get automatic forgiveness for all of our sins - all past, present and future sins that we will ever commit. The second thing that will occur is that we will get to go straight to heaven when we die and cross over because we have now become saved and born again. An Encouraging Moment / Pomes for the Heart Here are a few pomes, that I hope, may encourage you to read your Bible. I hope you enjoy the poems, and I pray that it bring light into your life. Remember, all praise and glory go to the Lord Jesus and his Father God. Ministry Of Absence I was meditating the other day and contemplating the thousands of folks in the cemeteries who lived and died without making any impression upon anybody. No one hated them and no one loved them. They are not missed because no one ever knew they existed. They touched no one's life in any memorable way. How sad. Killing Red Heads "With regard to the ancient Egyptians we have it on the authority of Manetho that they used to burn red-haired men and scatter their ashes with winnowing fans {So the atoms of energy would spread with the wind to all present.}, and it is highly significant that this barbarous sacrifice was offered by the kings at the grave of Osiris. We may conjecture that the victims represented Osiris himself... Africa; The Forgotten Land of The Catholic Church African Nations upset at the selection of the new Pope, Benedict XVI; they wanted a Black Pope. Instead they got another 'white man'. Some Black Americans are saying this just proves "whitey" still runs the world and continues to economically enslave the Africans and African Americans. One young black man we interviewed, Tyrone Williams, said "They all in it t'getter, come on, is obvious." Tyrone is considering converting to Islam; "There is no place for a black man in the Catholic Church." The Basics of the Christian Walk Now that I am saved, what do I do next? That is a very common question for people who have just recently got saved. I recently read that 50% of all people who get saved drop out within the first year or two. Living Proof: We are Living in the Days of Noah A familiar phrase used in Bible prophecy is the term "Days of Noah." Jesus warned, "For as in the days of Noah before the flood, they were eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the very day Noah entered the ark. And they did not know or understand until the flood came and swept them all away-so will be the coming of the Son of Man (Matthew 24: 38-39.)" This illustration is used to show mankind what signs they must look for upon Christ return. The book of Genesis records that before flooding the Earth, the Lord saw that the wickedness of men was great, and that every intent of the thoughts of men's heart was continually evil. This description can easily be applied to the current times we are living in. From all corners of the Earth, various societies can hear the bloodthirsty hearts of the terrorist beating to the same deadly drum. Are there more clues that allude to the fact that we are truly indeed living in the Days of Noah? Could there have been more going on besides the wickedness the Lord witnessed? Biblical Hermeneutics ? Part 3 Instead of being passive consumers of Biblical commentary, we can participate in the forming of a very particular, but no less authentic, commentary of our own. The only thing that should happen between text and commentary is exegesis, not homiletics. In other words, we should not become reliant on them. Continued dependence on commentaries will handicap or hinder the development of exegetical skills needed to do independent pre-commentary study. This is why it is probably safest to consult more than one commentary and to consult it at the end of the exegetical process and not the beginning. Octopussy The graven image exclusion as told in the Bible certainly wasn't followed by the Popery people. Never has there been a system with so many icons and such a multitude of a Heavenly Host. Yet they call it monotheism. There are well over 1500 saints, archangels, and the other godly cretins including Laddio, Daddio and Spook. Soon there will be many more as the current regime of Luciferians is having many more canonized, including the Pope who did not ex-communicate Hitler (even as they shortly thereafter did so to Ivan Illich). There is only one God if there is any at all. What Does The Religious Right Really Want? What does the Religious Right really want? Well, besides power, money and control, what they really want is to see a radical Right judge appointed to the Supreme Court. Why? To overturn Roe v. Wade. It really is that simple. What the Religious Right (henceforth referred to as RR) wants is to tell me, and all women, what to do with our bodies. The Rapture of the Church The Rapture of the Church will be the most startling event to happen in all of human history. Millions will disappear in "the twinkling of an eye." Great confusion and bewilderment will occupy the minds of those left behind. Many explanations for the disappearance of those missing will be entertained. In the meantime the Church will have been "caught up" in the air to appear before the Lord at the "judgment seat of Christ" (2 Cor. 5:10). This will be a judgment of rewards based on the believer's works. It will be a time of great joy for many as they hear the Savior's "Well done, thou good and faithful servant" (Matt. 25:41). For some it will be a time of shame and regret (1 John 2:28). Purity Is being purified only for the men of the cloth? Well let's see what the Bible says. In the book of 2Samuel David sang a song to the Lord. He says at verse 25 The Lord has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to my cleanness in his sight. What a wonderful phrase, and heartfelt passage, to be able to sing about the good things the Lord has bless you with. It is also good to ask for forgiveness, in the book of Psalm 51:10 it says Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Should Professional Athletes Be Glorifying God And Jesus On Their Public Platforms? Recently I have run across quite a few Christians who seem to be offended whenever any of the professional athletes get on TV or the radio and publicly give God and Jesus all the praise, honor and glory for all of their accomplishments in their personal lives as well as all of their success on the athletic field. Prophetic Ministry: Affirmations From Scripture to Teach Us Who We Are In Christ To learn who you are in Christ, you must know what God says about you. The Holy Bible tells us to do many things. Notice the number of times we are told to do certain things in the old and new testament. We find the word: Rebuilding Society and The Tax Protest Movement: Part Three Part Three continued What That 70s Show Taught Me About Christianity What in the world could I have possibly learned about Christianity from "That 70's Show"? I'm sure that's what everyone is thinking right about now. Compassion and Plenty He Showed 'Compassion' Anointed versus Talented: Whats the Difference? Talent is defined as: "Natural endowment or ability of a superior quality". The word talent comes from a Greek word that also tells us about something of great value as described in Matthew 25:15-30. |
