After Birth Weight Control
After having given birth; weight becomes a lasting issue for many women. Every year, there are many women who have left over weight brought on by the loving process of pregnancy. Once the baby is born you lose 12.5 - 14 pounds, any weight above that must be taken off by the new mom, if she so desire and if her doctor deems it beneficial for her to do so. Each woman has her own reason(s) for wanting to lose their after birth weight. The reasons usually fall in the area personal, health and professional reasons. For these women we publish this article. Retained Weight After Pregnancy is Linked to a Gene Dr. Winfried Siffert and his colleagues (from the University Hospital in Essen, Germany) studied 792 young healthy women who were becoming first time mothers or have had only one other baby before These women entered into a weight comparison study. Dr. Winfried Siffert and colleaguse determined that the women who had the gene; G protein beta-3 subunit 825TT was more likely to hang onto their weight after having given birth than those who did not have the gene. Putting this study together with a seperate research done earlier suggest that the G protein beta-3 subunit 825TT gene is likely to cause irregularities in metabolism. Drs. Ross D. Feldman and Robert A. Hegele of the University of Western Ontario, Canada, wrote in their editorial concerning the studies. The Drs. also noted that more research is needed to be able to link weight with the gene.If you believe you have this gene working against you, do not be dismayed. Research also show that moms with this gene can still lose after birth weight simply by execerising a miniumum of one hour per week. By execrising one hour mimium per week, moms with the G protein beta-3 subunit 825TT gene are just as likely to lose weight as other moms without this gene. Precaution: Never start any weight loss or execrise program without first consulting a physician. All women will have some, but most will experience them in the first and last trimesters. In the first three months, this is thought to be primarily due to such factors as increased blood volume, the initial stresses, and hormonal changes. In the final three months, the causes are more likely to be poor posture, which can result in pressure on parts of your body that communicate their discomfort to the brain, and also from the discomforts of carrying extra weight. Blimpy: Pregnancy Weight Gain The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends that women gain somewhere between 25 and 35 pounds during pregnancy. Of course, this poundage depends on the woman's starting weight. If she is overweight, then she should gain less and if she is underweight, then she should gain more. Easy enough. Now, let's assume that your gal starts her pregnancy at a healthy and sexy weight. What the heck will she look like with thirty more pounds? Don't worry! Labor and Delivery This is it - the finish line. You and your partner have been training for this event for the last 40 weeks and there is no turning back. Very few couples, who are of sane mind, decide to face the delivery room without any preparatory training. Fighting the Pregnancy Blahs Every pregnant woman has experienced the pregnancy blahs.
