China Finds Humans to Test Bird Flu Vaccine On, in Qinghai
China is serious about breaking into the bio-tech field and has a vaccine to stop H5N1 Bird Flu strain. Recently they admitted over 160 people died and today they now admit it was actually 460 people. 13,000 birds have been incinerated and this is only in the Western Province of Qinghai; there is also an outbreak in Southern China too. China is not as concerned as the rest of the world and they believe 460 people is not significant as they still have 1.3 Billion more where they came from. They birds will migrate with the disease both North and West and mix with livestock birds too. When the birds are done they will return to places all throughout Asia. Luckily for reporters covering this they were arrested rather than shot dead on site, as things are changing a little there. Perhaps that ought to be stopped? China is the same and people who are fleeing villages will end up in China's largest cities and the growth shows that many are moving into the cities. The H5N1 strain rarely kills waterfowl in the wild. This means things have gotten way out of hand in the Lake at Qinghai. The die off of waterfowl appears to be 8,000 plus. The Chinese are trying to hide the serious nature of this, but are quite delighted to have humans to test their virus on now. Meaning huge rural populations can now be vaccinated to see what happens? Human genie pigs are of value to proving to the world they have a cure, which they can sell to the world. Isn't it great to see the human trials of this vaccine will get a chance to be used without further tests? China is grateful for this opportunity indeed. Wonder why this outbreak was so severe and why it happened in this way? Interesting. Fuel Prices on the Rise With gasoline prices at the pump climbing strongly into the $2 slot, many people are becoming concerned about how high they may go, and what Congress should do about it, if anything. These conspiracy theorists go as far as to say that current or near future leadership will use the next large terrorist act to declare Marshall Law and remove the remainder of our rights after they themselves cause the act. Of course such scenarios are more science fiction fantasy than any actual current trend, which are above and beyond the stories of Orson Wells. Yet as we stroll thru our nations airports waiting to board our aircraft one could wonder by the treatment a world where such activities were the norm everywhere you went. Public Notaries We are having a problem in America with Public Notaries, in many states. There is required 'errors and omissions insurance' and it costs quite a bit of money and many people have quit the profession. Yet we all find it difficult with all the ridiculous formswe have to sign to find a notary when we need one. More than ever people require extra forms, always with a notary. I applaud Gate's idea of passport and the others like AOL that copied his ideas. I applauded those who have now started using e-signatures. I applaud agencies, which have passwords, and you can do your forms online. I am also 100% behind the IRS in their e-filing progress. They have certainly streamlined things haven't they? How Does the US Congress Really Work? Many people do not understand politics very well. They often blast their Congress Person for this, that and the other thing. You are probably one of them; no worries you are not alone as a matter of fact if you watch enough TV you will blast and condemn all our leadership figures. What might be beneficial to your understanding before you start point fingers at the politicians, is to better understand human nature, inner workings of clubs and groups and the human and primate innateness and genetic make up of politics. Before you turn to accuse me of judging our politicians as a bunch of no good apes or their chimpanzee cousins there is a book you should read. It is also available on audiotape if you do not like to read anything longer than a one-page article. Or you can simply take my word for it? You Might Need One; The City of Portland is Going After Small Businesses The City of Portland is going after any small business, which does business in their city even if they are from another town or even in a neighboring state. The politicians said the city is losing 4 million in year in revenues? Maybe, but they do not deserve them anyway with an attitude like that. This is criminal for politicians to call small businesses tax cheats, when they lack the integrity to tell the truth themselves. Bureaucracy Suffocating the Flow of Transportation We are slowing the transportation flows of our civilization by over burdening our transit systems, transportation companies, airlines, railroads and shipping companies with linear thought out rules and regulations. We are over regulating, over taxing and attacking the free market sector companies and this is cost America jobs, governments in tax base and hardship for travelers, vendors and industry, which rely on this transportation. The Senate Filibuster: The Hulk Plan and the Nuclear Option The partisan feuding in the U.S. Senate over federal judicial nominees is leading to a battle on the Senate floor that will have long term effects on the makeup of the federal courts and on the future of the filibuster as a tool in the Senate. The battle has been brewing for quite some time. US Army in Catch 22 on Gays Issue Many of those who wish to fight for our country come from families with strong ideals of freedom. Most of them are strong Christians in fact. There in lies the real problem with the US Army recruiting. To be allowed to come on campus to recruit at many colleges they are asked to be careful around the issue of Gays in the military. Yet to recruit a Christian Soldier this is a little tough, for if you allow gays in the military this goes against their belief system and if they are heterosexual, they want nothing to do with being in the same shower with someone who might be gay, but will not tell? Kudos For Monsanto Company I applaud Monsanto for their R and D. I would like to meet the head R and D man there and shake his hand for his drive and stick-to-it-ness to find solutions to feed the world. I have seen the animosity towards terminator and GM seeds, but I have also seen children dying of malnutrition and felt sick to my stomach as I knew they would not last more than a year like that. Malaria, or something would get them first. It was a sad day boarding that plane and thinking in 12 hours I would be back in the states and they would be living there and dying of some awful affliction. Not many opportunities there, not very fulfilled human lives really. Political Correctness got you down? I hear it all the time; you can't say that. But why not, I just did you see? Oh and before I continue another one of my "Rants from Lance" series here there is a good book you should read, well actually a couple of them. Pilot-Less and High Speed Train Transportation Systems; Better Strategy Needed We recently saw another ferry accident, this one in NY when the pilot of the vessel fell asleep, which may have been a medical situation or condition, but never the less, accidents like these would be prevented by pilot-less transit systems. This would be no problem with modern technology. We know in the future this will be an accepted method and fully safe. I am Not an African American I am not an African-American. I was born here as were my parents and grandparents and you would have to search many a generation back before you found anyone in my family who originated from the continent of Africa. It's time black people in this country stop trying to identify with a land whose culture is not their own. Economics and Politics of Regional Droughts It cities across America water is an issue, the flow is sporadic, either too much or too little. We must stabilize the flow, so businesses can plan, people can feel secure and we will not be caught with our pants down during the next drought. In some parts of our country the drought is now approaching 10-years and it is serious and economically destabilizing. As the droughts become more often, more severe and longer in length due to over use of supply, we must be ready. Many cities understand the importance of water and the psyche involved in plentiful water and the innate happiness it brings to the human spirit and they have developed River Walks, boat rides, etc to encompass such water features. Cities like Oklahoma City, Tempe, AZ; San Antonio, Caldwell ID, Wichita KS, Reno, NV; etc. Let us Disband The FTC?s Franchising Division Previously Senator Dick Armey and his staff in 2000 to review seriously the important decision to scrutinize the FTC's franchising division. Mr. Armey has sense retired. Today, I urge the Administration, the GAO, Senate Subcommittee and other governmental oversight bodies to curtail the efforts of the FTC to further over regulate the MUD (much unnecessary disclosure) plaguing our industry. How much should the FTC's franchise group be downsized? We see by the introduction of a proposed change and additions to the franchise rule that they have over stepped their usefulness in franchising, so perhaps that division should receive no funding and be immediately disbanded. I have an interesting case study and 2000 pages of proof of innocence of an action taken against my company by the FTC.
