Let me throw out a random thought on Homeland Security Leadership Structure
Streamlining Homeland Security with a Free market flair? An idea of adding four more components to the joint chiefs of staff; hire a Jack Welch type as an ombudsman to the group, who does not play rank games. Two; Have an additional force called Biological Warfare for both defensive military and civilian populations; Homeland security force to unite the police forces, law enforcement agencies and private sector database team. Add a division to the defensive plan for space efforts with an ombudsman to NASA and laboratories. Then go recruit all the brain power of the world to work for us. Base pay starting at $200,000 per year and a fully wired residence with available services for whims. If a scientist wants pop tarts, a Starbucks in his home, Sushi bar, vegetarian catered meals or even a fully functional Biosphere to sleep in. Then give it to him or her. Get, kidnap, steal or recruit all the top minds of the world to our side and living in our country. We need all the old scientists of the Soviet Union here, also anyone who can escape to live here in the US. Then they need assistants, and resources. Spend money on R and D whether it is working on applications for mining the moon, sends people to mars or finding new genetic, protein, pathogen, disease, virus cures or discoveries. It should be a massive undertaking and funded anyway it can be, it will pay for itself. We have so much to learn with regards to miniaturization, weather research, energy, new fuel technology, propulsion, organic information transfer, agriculture methodologies, etc, etc. You always win when you are on the leading edge. A Look Ahead to 2008 (Part II) Last week, I began my look ahead to the 2008 presidential campaign with the potential Republican candidates. Today, I will continue by taking a look at the potential Democratic candidates. How Bill Cosby got it Wrong Bill Cosby got it wrong. His many speeches regarding the plight of poor blacks in this country and their lack of personal responsibility were not only off the mark, but completely irresponsible. Monetary Flows, Retained Earnings, Over Regulation and Abundant Resources All countries have specific things that are abundant in the region. Middle East it is oil and sand. We do not need the sand but can use it to make cement. So perhaps we should import sand and oil from there and they can buy cars, computers, and other things from us. By developing trading partners, we can keep peace if of course the Westerner Hatred thing can be educated out of those populations? And perhaps we might do a little sole searching as well to understand our history and cultures of the world a little better, as even though the US is the greatest civilization ever created int he history of mankind, we are definitely not alone. French NON to Europe Might be Engrained in Their History Many of the problems that the members of the European Union are expressing with their constitution are in matter of fact problems with they perceive to be the 'one size fits all' idea of policies. The French are loudest in expressing their objections and looking at the history of the evolution of the nation state, perhaps they have a point. It took millennia for the idea of the Nation State to evolve into any recognizable shape. So to expect a huge bloc of countries to continue to integrate without noticeable hiccups would be naive. Wealth Distribution and Inheritance, What Will They Buy? Cars Wealth Distribution is often discussed at length in periodicals such as American Demographics Magazine, much of this information does not hit the main stream media. A recent article on the huge transfer of wealth to the Baby Boomers, revealed some very interesting facts about such trends in the United State. The amount of money expected to transfer is an unbelievable. What may surprise you is that many of these wealth older generation folks have skip generation trusts and much of that money will end up in the hands of X'ers, while still a good portion will end up with the baby boomers. Actually both groups we have studied buy cars, SUVs, Boats, Light Aircraft, Houses and Pick-ups. Why does this excite me? Well personally it excites me a businessman because I see opportunity to serve the needs of the active aging. Is This All There Is? In today's Rants from Lance session I address the question many American's are asking them selves? Is this all there is? I myself have a number of questions along this theme? I believed it, when I was told of the American Dream and when I found out it was a lie; I wanted to scream. I worked hard, did every thing right tried the best I could and was able to sleep at night. But alas the game is rigged. So you ask is this all there is? Why? (Protocol 1) {Gardner's 1999 book and those of Barrett and the Blandford Publishers would seem to make it no longer "invisible"!} California Attorneys and Politicians California Attorneys and politicians are to blame for the energy crisis and blackouts and the ones, which will come this summer too. A simple study of finite capacity scheduling would have yielded the necessary tools for the CA state government to figure out what was actually feasible. They obviously did not understand the capacity of the power line and the amount of energy trading that would occur when deregulation took place. Obviously if someone is going to get a better deal on energy they are going to buy it somewhere else? You cannot energy futures when you do not have the power lines to move the energy to a different region, just like you cannot use the Ford factories excess capacity to make pharmaceuticals. Think of the problem; attorneys and politicians who are master manipulators of human emotion make policy on the deregulation of CA energy based on reports done by quote experts that were paid by government millions to do reports. Maryland Lawyers and Politicians Want More Regulations We know that in Maryland, which some call "Merry Land" due to its completely liberal skew that Sarbaines Oxley laws were born. These laws no matter what anyone will tell you, have done more to upset our trade deficits with China than any other single factor. Senator Sarbaines is not even running for re-election now, which is smart because he would have major opposition and who ever was close to beating him would have on hell of a bank roll to do it. It is hard to say really which is worse; Osama Bin Laden hiding in a Cave or Senator Sarbaines who lives in a box (opinion). Screening Trucks and Containers Coming Into Our Country We presently have adequate sniffer devices in this country to help us screen the trucks and containers coming into this country at our checkpoints and ports. Now we should be conducting massive recording of odors of trucking shipments and containers for database evaluations to insure that we do not unnecessarily impede the flow of trade or delay parts needed to run our economic powerhouse. We must provide for security and proper flow without creating additional choke points or create stoppage, which will result in billions in lost productivity. By having huge databases of sampling we will be able to determine and to find anomalies in rogue transportation events and prevent an attack on our homeland. Slovenia - The Star Pupil The most exciting event in Slovenia last week was when a group of young army recruits spat on the national flag and sang the anthem of the now defunct former Yugoslavia. They were sent to a military psychiatrist for observation. Indeed, economically speaking, a preference for any other part of the late Federation over Slovenia would indicate mental deformity. Tax Dollars and Transparency of Government Agencies As we watch fewer Americans voting it is no wonder why, they have lost faith in their government. Why can't we as citizens who own our government demand equal and/or reasonable compliance with our tax dollars? Why can't we demand the same from government as they enforce on our corporations? Why can't government clean it's act up and stop flushing our monies down the toilets? No wonder so many government workers wanted to install two more Johns in the white house during our last election; they obviously believe no one is watching and need more toilets to flush our money down in DC? Can you imagine for one minute the Government trying to comply with Sarbaines Oxley? They would crumble, stagnate and become even more ineffective than they already are. Monsanto Terminator Seeds How do you feel about Terminator Seeds from Monsanto? I have determined that I am in favor of Terminator Seeds, having seen the complaints against it and the evidence for it. Also to curb the problem of GM seeds over taking the Natural Wild Seeds of rice, wheat, etc. which mankind has adapted too. Now then the debate goes like this. US Government Regulators and Aides with AIDS All government regulators or diplomat who are in high risk categories for contracting AIDS as well as senior aides in our nations capital who routinely travel abroad must be tested if they have any drug history or are homosexual. Other wise our aides and diplomats will be exporting AIDS. How can we as a nation put forth restrictions from certain countries or travelers from certain lands who may have contracted diseases such as Bird Flu, Small Pox or other pathogen if we are sending our own government workers abroad who could infect citizens of other nations with AIDS. Water Conservation, Retention and Better Policies As the populations expand in Colorado outside of Denver, Las Vegas, North County San Diego, Atlanta, Phoenix, Tucson, San Bernardino, Riverside, Albuquerque, etc; The West will need to look to transferring the load of cities like Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Diego, and San Bernardino to getting water from the ocean through Desalination Plants. At one point during the last drought states had to make a choice between fighting fires or saving the water for drinking. This could have been a serious issue in CO, MT, NM, NV and AZ. Constitutional Amendment Needed on Sodomy Laws Many very nice and loving homosexual male couples want to get married. Sure they can have various personal vows and contractual relationships, share monies; even call themselves married; domestic partners or sole mates. Male homosexual marriages or civil unions seem to make sense because the homosexual male population as a whole is 560% more promiscuous as heterosexuals or regular folks. This promiscuity issue leaves them as at the highest possible risk of contracting HIV and AIDS. AIDS kills people, which would not be very good for them personally. In the future perhaps there will be a cure. Right now the Chinese are working on a vaccine, which looks promising. When you insert you sexual organ up another person's rectum much tearing takes place and there are severe health risks involved even without the contraction of venereal diseases or AIDS. North Korea and Diplomatic Solutions; Random Thoughts Part II North Korea and diplomatic games; something has to give and negotiating with those who renege on promises in treaties is a problematic issue for the United States. Here are some additional random thoughts on this issue which span a few years of off and on thinking on the matter.
