Why are Free Form Essential Amino Acids Necessary and What to Look For!
1. Look for high quality, crystalline, free-form, amino acids (AAs) Most amino acid blends on the market are actually reduced milk or soy proteins. These may contain small quantities of free form AAs but are mostly comprised of whole proteins and peptides. Proteins and peptides are AAs that are linked together in chains and must first be broken down into single AAs by the digestive process in order for the body to create usable systemic proteins. It is because of the nitrogen in these systemic proteins that allows them to heal and repair tissue. Without protein our bodies continue to degenerate. Free-form AAs are single amino acids, which need no digestion. They are, in essence, pre-digested and ready to form all the enzymes needed for optimal food digestion and the development of proteins. When food is properly digested, the body will make all the substances it needs for excellent health. The primary culprit in many chronic disease conditions is insufficient digestion of fats, carbohydrates and proteins. This may start with symptoms such as nausea, bloating, burping, high cholesterol, or low or high blood sugars. Incomplete digestion leads to a severe lack of systemic protein, which weakens the immune system and culminates in disease. When whole proteins or partial proteins (peptides) remain undigested they will enter the system in an unusable state and float around causing problems (such as rashes, sinusitis and other allergic responses.) Free form AAs, on the other hand, can be used to create enzymes, hormones, muscle tissue, nervous tissue, etc. upon demand where and when the body needs them. So beware of that bottle of Free Form Amino Acids that you find in the health food store. One sure fire test: if it is not a pure white powder in capsules, it is probably a reduced soy or milk protein. Platinum Plus Essential Amino Acids are the highest quality pharmaceutical grade free form AAs, absolutely guaranteed. 2. Look for a properly balanced blend of essential AAs. Even if the amino acids are pharmaceutical grade free form AAs, they will stop benefiting the body after a short period of time, if they are not properly balanced. Most AA formulas on the market will stop being beneficial to the body after 3-6 months time. This is because of the way that AAs work in the body, if there is too little or too much of any one, all the rest of the AAs will be limited in there effectiveness due to the imbalance. Although you may feel significantly better for a while, an unbalanced AA blend will: A perfectly balanced blend of essential AAs will allow the body to create all the nonessential AAs the body needs. By combining two or more essential amino acids the body is able synthesize all the other proteins (AAs) it needs. A balanced blend of essential AAs will also create exactly the right kind and right amount of enzymes to properly digest food so we can create the substances needed to heal and maintain the body. 3. Look for extra added sulfur and molybdenum to support the liver. When the body begins to heal with the systemic proteins, it starts getting rid of all the toxins, bacteria, viruses and toxic metals that have been stored in the tissues and cells of our bodies. All these things must first run through the liver (the bodyıs poison filter) on their way out of the body. Sulfur (this is a natural element, not the same as sulfonamides which are the group of sulfa drugs to which many people are allergic) and molybdenum help flush the liver in a process called phase two detoxification. Platinum Plus Essential Amino Acids have the extra sulfur and molybdenum to ensure the liver has the help it needs to remove toxins from the body. Keep in mind the body is healing and when healing naturally may take anywhere from 3 weeks to 1 year depend on the severity of the illness. Most likely this illness has been gradually growing for many years and the body needs time to reverse this degeneration. Essential amino acids are not a drug which we have become dependent upon relieving our pains over night. Many of these drugs just mask the symptoms and don't remove the root cause of the problem. Time and patience is need to heal naturally and complete 4. With the balanced blend of essential amino acids the body will create every other non essential amino acid it needs by itself. So an amino acid blend that has only some essential and some non essential is not balanced and will stop being beneficial after a short period of time. If there is a blend of amino acids that has all the essential amino acids and extra non essential amino acids in it, the non essential are not necessary, wasteful and may throw the essential out of balance from the body's reaction to the non essential. If even one essential is missing from the diet then the body can't create all the proteins it needs and will gradually go into degeneration. Essential amino acids include: Remember, eating a well balanced diet with adequate proteins will NOT guarantee that our bodies will get the proper essential amino acids to produce all the proteins we need. Poor digestion, disease, infection, sickness, environmental conditions, smoking, drinking, stress and processed foods will prevent our bodies from getting those essential amino acids we need to maintain optimal health and to heal. Also deficiencies in vitamins and minerals will prevent our bodies from absorbing the proteins we do make. For optimal health it is necessary to take a high quality blend of essential amino acids, a good multi vitamin and mineral and fatty acids (omega 3, 6 and 9). Years of research and testing went into creating the perfect balance in Platinum Plus Essential Amino Acids. This testing proved that a properly balanced essential amino acids blend along with multi vitamin/minerals and fatty acids, allows the body to overcome disease and heal itself. What?s Causing Your Energy Drain? This is such a busy time of year, isn't it? Whether it's school or after-school commitments, social or philanthropic organizations that start meeting again after the summer, end of the year plans at work, or all of the above, fall activities are demanding! If you're like me, you know you plan too much, but you still want to be efficient, accomplish everything, and do it well. There is no time in the schedule for running out of energy or getting sick, and "Collapse From Exhaustion" is not on the TO DO list. But your body will stop you if you don't stop it first. How will you know if you are running on empty? The number one warning sign is fatigue. Abnormal fatigue can be a sign from your body that you are overworking, overthinking, underresting, or undereating. (I don't know if all those are words, but they should be.) A variety of illnesses and medical conditions can cause fatigue, including hormone disorders, depression, and pregnancy, so if you notice a dramatic or persistent change in your energy level, it's wise to consult your physician. The good news is that if it's your hectic agenda that's leaving you drained, you can give yourself the best chance of staying well by looking at a few key areas ? sleep, nutrition, hydration, and relaxation. As with many beneficial life habits, these four staples of health do not have catchy slogans or expensive promotional campaigns. Bottled water brands and sleep number beds are starting to change that, but they're based on the premise that you need a very extravagant bed or water purification system, rather than the idea that you need sleep and water to be healthy. (Common sense, you say? How long has it been since you got eight hours of sleep and drank two liters of water in the same day?) Most nutrition-related marketing promotes one food or food group over another, rather than the guiding principle that you faithful readers know by now: eating frequent, small amounts of a variety of foods. On the other hand, I'm sure you've seen and heard multiple advertisements for energy bars, energy drinks, and energy boosting supplements, promising more energy if you eat or drink the magical concoction of chemicals. Remember what you learned in Nutrition 101: Your body can only make energy from three things: carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. ONLY. Other nutrients help your body USE energy, including iron and B vitamins, but nothing you get in a pill can actually give you more energy than eating actual food. Caffeine, ginseng, guarana, ma huang, ephedra, and xenedrine are all stimulants that make your heart beat faster, so your brain gets more oxygen, so you FEEL like you have more energy?but it's a trap. When the effects wear off, you will be more tired than you were before. If you use the chemicals again, you perpetuate the cycle, or in other words, you're hooked! Quick Tip: Real energy means calories. If a product contains 0 calories, it's a fake. The good news (yes, there's more!) is that although no supplement can make up for poor habits, changing habits can eliminate the need for these potentially harmful chemicals in your body. Easier said than done, I agree. But start in one area, and experiment with a small change. If you see results, you will have proved to yourself that the change is worth it! In the coming weeks, we'll look at each of the key areas, sleep, nutrition, hydration, and relaxation, with the goal of maintaining exceptional energy throughout your day. If you need an energy makeover, why not keep an energy log? On 2 weekdays and 2 weekend days write down the following: What time it is each time you eat (you don't have to write down WHAT you eat); what time it is when you go to sleep and when you wake up; what beverages you drink throughout the day; any relaxing activities you did that day; and a description of your energy (highs or lows) throughout the day. In two weeks we'll meet back and see what your results mean and where to improve! To be continued? The Liquid Vitamin Mineral Approach Liquid vitamin mineral Juice Sensibility Apart from eating many of the wonderful vegetables and fruits that inhabit our planet, drinking them is equally nourishing and satisfying. Juicing vegetables and fruits can also create a dynamic taste treat, causing your taste buds to dance with undiscovered delight. If you're new to juicing, I recommend only juicing vegetables and fruits that you enjoy eating. As time goes on, you can try out other foods as well as increased amounts of those foods. Surrender To The Spell Of The Pyramid Food in general has the distinction of being probably thefirst thing we all think about in the mornings before our feet hit the floor. The main reason for this is we cannot survive without it. There are four major food groups arranged in what is commonly called the food pyramid. At the base of the food pyramid lies thegroup that contains breads, grains, pastas and cereals. These foods provide complex carbohydrates, which are an important source of energy, especially for a low-fat meal plan. You can make various low-fat choices from foods in this group. Nutrient Requirements of Women in Sport Female and male athletes respond to training in a fairly comparable way. As volume and intensity of training increases, so does aerobic capacity and hence performance. Body composition tends to change, whether male or female, indicating that physiologically, we are all actually quite similar. A Look at Lactose Intolerance Lactose is the primary carbohydrate in milk. Cow's milk contains 4-5% lactose, whereas human milk contains almost twice that amount. Lactose provides 30-50% of the energy in milk, depending on the fat content (skim vs. homogenized).A number of individuals are affected by lactose in the diet, but there is a difference between intolerance and maldigestion. Sugar tends to change the way our metabolism uses specific amino acids to make the neurotransmitters needed for proper brain function. Eating refined carbohydrates increase the level of the amino acid tryptophan, which helps to create the neurotransmitter serotonin. Serotonin is the calming neurotransmitter. So when we need to relax we will crave sugar so that we can create more serotonin. This is one of the main reasons sugar is so addictive. Ever Hear of This Fruit? I want to tell you about the most healthful and most delicious tropical fruit that you'd ever want to taste. It's called the mangosteen, and the reason you've probably never heard of it is because you can't buy it in the United States. However, you can buy the juice of the fruit and I'll tell you how you can do that at the end of this article. Stress and Aging - Human Growth Hormones Modern life can be stressful. There are so many concerns that you have to worry about like work, family, relations, and other activities. Sometimes you have to juggle or walk on a tightrope of schedules, deadlines, meetings, and extracurricular activities. Go Nuts! Nuts of all kinds (I am talking peanuts, cashews etc) have a mixed reputation. They are high in fat, but have no carbohydrates. Many people I know will not eat any type of nut because of their high fat content. Nuts have a very important role in a healthy weight loss plan. Healthy Eating Made Simple The confusion about eating healthy and dieting will now be cleared up, all in one easy sentence. Are you ready? Everyone is different. Food with Niacin and The Benefits Niacin, also called nicotinic acid, is a member of the B-group of water-soluble vitamins and occurs in food with niacin. Also known as B3, niacin has many beneficial properties and food with niacin should be included in the diet as part of a healthy lifestyle. Alternative Therapies for Acid Reflux Disease Acid Reflux Disease, or GERD, is a common disease which affects approximately 5-7% of the population. It occurs when acid from the stomach backs up into the esophagus, a long, thin, muscular tube, which connects the mouth and the stomach. This often causes a constant burning sensation behind the breastbone, which is commonly known as heartburn. Long-term or persistent heartburn should be evaluated by a doctor, as heartburn can imitate the symptoms of heart disease. Lingzhi A Miracle Herb For Peak Health The secret of success is knowing how to deal with your body to maintain peak health condition. The dictum Health is Wealth hold more truth in the modern context than ever before. The Glycemic Index and Dieting The field of nutrition is awash with charts, tables, diagrams, models, acronyms, and abbreviations; more than the average person can memorize. As such, one often comes across someone who has simply burnt out trying to keep track of how much to eat, when to eat it, how to find the calories from fat, the RDI, the DV, and so on. There is an overkill of useful information within the nutrition field, and it can ironically provoke one to grow weary and exhausted, tune out, and go grab a fast food burger. |
