How To Create A Complete Referral Marketing System
These steps are taken from the Referral Flood Marketing Program. Referral Flood is an insider's shortcut to referral marketing and features over 4 hours of audio training, 54 real-world referral marketing systems, and a host of referral marketing tools, letters, postcards and forms. Step #1 - Create a referral target market(s) ? you must create a target list of companies and individuals who can be motivated to refer. This can be clients or a network of related businesses. Step #2 ? Identify your ideal referral client ? In order to receive high quality referrals you must be able to quickly communicate the exact type of person or business that makes a great referral. Step #3 ? Create and communicate your core referral message ? you must be able to easily explain the value you can bring to anyone who is referred. "We show estate attorneys how to become famous." Step #4 ? Design a referral education system ? When you meet with a potential referral source you can substantially increase the number and quality of referrals if you systematically educate them on: Who makes a great referral, what's in it for them to provide a referral, how to refer you, and the exact steps you plan to take with that referral Step #5 ? Outline your referral lead offer and system ? this is the heart and soul of the system. This is where you devise the creative offer that makes people want to refer you. Example: Earn a 100% refund on your tax return preparation when you refer 4 people who become clients." Step #6 ? Create a referral conversion strategy ? what good are referral leads if they don't become referral clients? You must map out a specific set of steps that will allow you to convert your referral leads. What do you do with a lead when the phone rings? Step #7 ? Identify a referral follow-up strategy ? to bring your referral system full circle you need to devise two follow-up steps. 1) a way to continue to market to your referral leads that don't immediately turn into clients and 2) a way to systematically communicate the progress of a referral back to your referral sources to keep them motivated. With all the shuffling that's been seen in the search engine world within the last year, the issue of obvious optimizing has become a hot button. The current line of thinking is that most engines (especially Google) are on the lookout for sites that purposely make an effort to optimize their pages in order to get high rankings. While this theory has not been proven, I agree that obvious optimization is not a good thing. Not exclusively because of what Google might think, but because of what your site visitors might think. Marketing to Hispanics/Latinos A powerful consumer market with annual spending power exceeding $350 billion, Hispanics-or should that be Latinos?-have become the largest minority group in the United States, and a marketplace well-worth looking into and with plenty to see--once you get the labels straight. Improving Lead Generating and Conversation Rates: Think Like a Farmer John's a freelance photographer in Ohio who called to tell me of his frustration with the advertising and promotional campaigns he has tried in the last couple of years. Each time he does a promotional mailing to his list of 10,000, he is lucky if he gets one or two inquiries. I had a similar call from a corporation that was spending its time and money driving traffic to its web site. With six thousand visitors a day, they were only getting a couple of inquiries per week. Modern Marketing With Postcards Postcards may be one of the best kept secrets of modern marketing. They produce even better results now than in the past. That's probably because postcards deliver information the way people want to get it today ...fast and with little or no effort. Planning Your Postcard Marketing Campaign Before you create your postcard, do a little planning. Ask yourself:1. Why are you doing this card mailing? Do you want to get new clients? Or do you want to stay in touch with existing clients?2. To whom are you going to be mailing these cards? Which begs another question: who's on your mailing list? Now, you may be saying, "Martha, how can you ask such a thing? I don't even have a mailing list!"Okay, you don't have a proper list quite yet, but do you know anyone? I mean, do you have any friends, family, colleagues, former classmates, former coworkers, military buddies, or neighbors? I'll bet you do.Now, all you need to do is get their names, addresses and other pertinent info into a database program like Act!, Capstralia Contact Expert, Microsoft Excel, Goldmine or Microsoft Outlook. There. Now you have yourself a mailing list. And, furthermore, you have the best kind of mailing list there is, because it's made up of people you know. Pay for Performance Pricing Models for Search Engine Optimization I do think that it is entirely possible for an SEO and client to work out a pay for performance pricing structure that is fair to both. Logistically, though the tracking involved to this would add additional layers to the total process of ranking and reporting. If both the SEO and the client are willing to take that on and set parameters that are agreeable between them then by all means a fair agreement can be reached. |
