Weight Loss NOW! The Soft Drink Diet
In the early nineties doctors were beginning to see the growing trend in American's waistlines. So for a very short period of time they came out on the offense by promoting better foods to eat. An easy one was endorsing pasta meals. What they failed to mention was the best time to eat pasta and what other things to not eat with it. Thus, fifteen years later, you are twenty percent fatter, and more confused than ever. Pasta by itself is not necessarily the problem, but combine that with soft drinks or wine, then you have the Venus fly trap. Remember years ago, the sticky strip you hung out in your back yard. Flies would fly by and stick to the strap. Well, that is what soft drinks do in your system. While you may be eating half way descent food groups (not to mention your portions) the sugar drinks act as the sticky fly trap. This hinders the digestive process. In plain English: the longer the food stays in your system the more of a chance you have of getting fatter. The soft drinks act as barriers. In many cases when it comes to weight loss, the food combinations really get you. The biggest no-no is starchy foods with sugary foods. If you have wine, cut down on the breads. If you have pasta's cut down on the wines. If you have soft drinks, cut back on the starchy complex foods. No matter the combination, combining pasta meals with sugary drinks is eating you up from the inside out. If you want to lose a few pounds, lose a few ounces of soft drinks in your daily diet. Why Do All Diets Fail? There's a dirty little secret in the diet industry. The sellers of weight loss programs won't admit it, but no weight loss plan works for everyone. In fact, all diets fail MOST OF THE TIME! The Diet Dilemma. Why Diets Dont Work Let's face when it comes to overweight and obesity there are 2 basic facts we have to take into account. Want to Succeed on Your Diet, Find a Diet Buddy If you're like most people who tried losing weight on a diet and failed it's probably because you didn't have enough support. Sure family, friends and even your spouse can help but one the best ways to succeed on a diet is to choose a diet buddy. The best diet buddy is someone whose goals are similar to yours. If you have to lose 10 pounds and they have to lose 60 that's not a good match. The more weight you have to lose the closer that person should be to you physically. If you've only got five to ten pounds to lose that person could be across the street or across the country. However if you have 40 pounds to lose you really need someone who can offer you more support. One of the most effective weight loss methods is keeping a journal of what you eat and how much you exercise. You should exchange your journal with your diet buddy and help each other correct mistakes you may have made. You should meet with your diet buddy as often as possible. One of the best places is to meet at the gym every morning and compare your journals over breakfast. Another good alternative is lunchtime, this helps you make smart healthy food choices and resist the temptation to pig out.Try to avoid choosing someone who you live with as your diet buddy. Sibling rivalry or spousal spats are a natural part of life, causing stress and anxiety about not having the full support of your diet buddy leads to unnecessary anxiety and stress or emotional related eating. Resistance Training First; Fat Burning Second for Weight Loss Most men and women that I have trained over the years that were interested in weight loss, before meeting me their routine always included the bike or treadmill for 15-20 minutes or so, then proceeding on to the weights for some resistance training. Approximately one out of ten did both, and most either did one or the other. What's worse is most people watch other people work-out, and they simply incorporate other people's routine into their own. What they don't realize is one person's routine may not be good for the other. Also, who's to say the person they copied is doing the exercise properly. Fact is, for weight loss and muscle tone you must first exercise with resistance weight followed by a 20-45 minute fat- burning session. Why? When working out with resistance using weights, during the movement your body will mostly rely on sugars (stored glycogen in the muscles) for energy, therefore after a 20-30 minute session your sugars have been depleted causing a decrease in the fat-inhibiting hormone insulin. Now, when you begin your fat-burning session it will be much quicker for your body to deplete your muscle glycogen stores, making it possible for your body to use stored fat for energy in as little as six minutes! Since your insulin levels are low, your body will turn to fat for energy instead of carbohydrates. Also, by working first with resistance weight it increases blood flow dramatically, therefore increasing the concentrations of noradrenaline and adrenaline in the blood. Both are hormones that contribute to the removal of fatty acids out of adipocytes (fat cells).
