Law Vs. Grace
At first glance it does seem that law and grace are opposed. Even the Bible seems to be divided into two sections the Old Testament (law) and New Testament (grace). The Old Testament and especially the first five books are all about law. How God expects righteousness from everyone. In fact God gives man the Ten Commandments in this section of the Bible. Surely this means that God expects man to live up to the Ten Commandments in an effort to please Him. Right? Well if you take the Bible as a whole you begin to understand that the Ten Commandments were never given as a way to please God. God knows us, and our limits. They were given as a way to show us how far short we fall, a measuring stick to show us just how much we need Him. Sound a little hopeless? It is hopeless to think that we can keep the Ten Commandments. Jesus showed us that in his teachings. "If a man hates it is the same as murder in the sight of God." Think about that. If you want to live under the Law then a white lie has the same penalty as murder! It is pretty obvious that it is mans pride that makes him think he can keep the Law! Forget about "It means strive for perfection" try that in a court of law. Smile! Galatians 2:21 The good news is that the law makes us realize just how much we really need God! It is the righteousness of God's Son that makes us acceptable in God's sight, not anything we have done. Ephesians 2:8 Because of that, we can concentrate on doing what God put us here on Earth for, instead of being under the burden of striving for something just out of reach! God loves his creation and wants us to be free and productive for Him. We do not need to worry about genes, heredity, sexuality, or environment. Just relax in Him and learn who we are in God and He will show us what is best for us! Chris Hampton

Understanding the Tarot Card Deck - Part 2 Tarot card reading delves into an individual's psyche and thus depends largely upon the energy that person generates, whether consciously or subconsciously. And because human beings are complex creatures with all kinds of major and minor issues ? not only negative, but positive as well ? the Tarot must duly address them all. So, although the Major Arcana bring to light the larger issues in life, there also exists the Minor Arcana ? which serve the purpose of illuminating the "secret and closed" events, feelings, needs, and everyday details of our existence. God - A Thousand Words Wasted Who is God? This question would sound awkward to 80% of us. Moreover, this question would infuriate all of this 80%. I though, do not have any intentions to hurt or disrespect their sentiments. As for the residual 20%, some people do not believe in God and the rest would like to believe in God but do not find any reason why to do so. Let's talk. Kundalini and Going Where Were Supposed To Go In the early 90's I had a spontaneous Kundalini Awakening after a near death experience, which I wrote about in a different article. Here's what happened next. Beyond Normal - The Liquid Level Of Consciousness I am not enlightened, and yet, I am no longer "normal." Since you are reading this, I suspect you probably feel the same. Somewhere between the normal, Solid level of consciousness and the transparent, Ethereal level of enlightenment, lies a very fluid, Liquid level of awareness. Your Guide to the Archangels An angel can be your best friend. Angels have been known respond to prayers that contain the phrase "Hey, somebody, anybody up there HELP!!!"but they come quickest when addressed politely by their Christian names. Anam Chara - The Flow of Life I am deeply drawn to the above Irish Blessing. New Hope For Global Peace In a recent article entitled "Some Evidence of How We Are Spiritually Connected" I reported on a case study where I was able to give some evidence as to how individuals who have overlapping life histories share such histories as information stored in what I term "interpersonal", "shared" or "collective" thought fields. These fields hold all the overlapping memories, experiences and beliefs that the individuals who are connected to those fields hold in their consciousnesses. Petitioning for Your Needs Human beings are blessed with a unique gift: the gift of prayer or petition to the Infinite for our needs. A religious person would call it prayer; others may call it petition or meditation. There is a clear distinction between petition and meditation, however. Meditation is generally a passive process, but in a petition, we actively communicate with the Infinite Source. The word "petition" itself conveys the significance of the process. In human law, once a suit is filed or a legal proceeding is initiated, certain processes are put in motion. Regardless of who we are or our station in life, the legal process takes its course. Giving From the Heart I thought for sometime that I was hard done bye with having to produce this newsletter and manage my web site with old computer equipment that was so slow that I could have cat naps between the time one program would close and another opened. This had a mixed blessing in that I could work for hours without having to stop and rest so there were some advantages to having archaic equipment. What good does it do to be able to type 70 wpm and the computer processes only 30 wpm. Home Improvement or New Construction? Jesus said, "No one can see the Kingdom of Heaven unless he is BORN AGAIN," (Jn 3:3). A born again disciple is one who has, literally, been given a new lease on life. He or she gets to start over, sins forgiven. We become new creatures, the old is gone, the new has come, (2 Cor 5:17). The Holy Spirit, the promised parakletos (comforter, in Greek), now dwells within each of us who are disciples of Christ. We are His home. Yes, God... the One who made both Heaven and earth... chooses to live THROUGH those who claim Jesus as Lord so that He can advance His Kingdom THROUGH them. Yes, we become His home but for Kingdom purposes, not for our own benefit. How Useful is a Dream Dictionary Really? At the start of your dream journey, one of the most frustrating things is to figure out what the symbolism in your dreams means! Most often people start their dream conversation with me by saying: "I had this weird dream ?" What makes it "weird" is the strange collection of people, objects, places and events that take place in the dream. Trust Jesus (and Stress and Fear will Disappear) Everything was going wrong. Thinking Out Loud (Answers) Part two of a two part series (Channeled)Spirituality is about everyday life, which includes getting up in the morning, getting ready for the day be it work, school or play. It is about knowing yourself and the connection to your environment. It is about defining who you are and then living a purposeful life within those definitions, it is about changing those definitions and making adjustments to accommodate them. It is about saying to the world "I AM," and demonstrating it within the physical body that you created. Why There Are Four Gospels The first gospel written by Matthew, who is Levi, is the first archtype of Christ in you as the fulness of the Godhead. Unforgiving Servant - Why Would You Hurt Yourself Like This? Everybody knows that if you stick your hand in a fireyou're going to be burned. This is a fact that wasbranded in our minds since childhood, therefore weusually take special precautions when dealing withfire. You wouldn't intentionally burn yourself becauseyou are aware of the pain and discomfort it will causeyou. The Death of God, the Mission of Modern Psychology, and Me The question, "Is God Dead?", first entered my consciousness when I was ten or eleven years old. I saw it on the cover of a Life magazine, and it's lingered in my mind ever since. At the time, though, I wasn't too concerned with His possible demise. I had pretty much determined that God lived inside each of us. No matter how hard I tried, I hadn't been able to find God in the lukewarm rituals of the Protestant faith. Instinctively, I knew God wasn't dead, He was just hiding within each of us, waiting to be discovered. Living Your Noble Purpose "A common jar of clay can never become a noble masterpiece, unless it is broken by its master, refined in fire, and renewed." ? Sharif Khan The Garden of Agony (Part 1) Eden, the garden of ecstasy is no longer available to us. We left it in sin and shame and it cannot be regained. All the privileges it offered have been forfeited. And so every man on this toilsome journey through life, in the midst of much tribulation and much soul searching, enters the Garden of Agony. A Broken and Contrite Heart "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise." Psalm 51:17, NIV Love, Honor, and Obey Let's take a look at all these aspects. The bible speaks a great deal about loving, honoring, and obeying the Father. God, the Father off all creation, loves us so much, that he sent his only begotten son to save us from our sins. We have all heard this, but, "Do we love God enough to give him our all?" "Do we love him enough", to weather any storm and rely on Him for everything that we need. "Do, we show this to other people?"; I hope that we do. God, wants us to show him how much we love him. He, wants us to love him enough to worship him in everything that we do. Unfortunately, to many times we get caught up in our own personal problems, and forget that God is in control of the situation. We have all done this, but when we do this, it shows that we are not relying on God to take care of us. We try and do things our own way, with our own might. The bible says, "Greater is He that is in me, than He that is in the world". This is a very powerful statement, and a proclamation of God's sovereign power. To think, that he loves us so much, that He took all our sins and forgive them through His grace. Do we, as christians, have this kind of LOVE? Can we honestly say, that no matter what happens, "WE WILL LOVE HIM!" That, no matter what comes against us, we will stand firm in our faith, and love for God. This is not an option, we must always love Him and pray for His help. |
