I believe that everyone understands that no matter what business you are in- Real Estate, Financial Services, Teaching, Auto Sales any other profession, we are all in the PEOPLE BUSINESS. It's been said that fully 85% of your success in life is directly related to your ability to effectively work with people. So I wanted to pass on a little tip that will make all your dealings with clients or co-workers much more effective.
1. Master the skill of LISTENING. You have two ears and only one mouth, and great communicators will tell you that that's the proportion they should be used in. 2. Take a SINCERE INTEREST in others. Empathy, compassion, and a real desire to learn about people are some of the most attractive and persuasive qualities you can possess...and they cannot be faked. 3. Remove the words "I" and "me" from most of your communications. When selling, coaching, teaching, or just working with someone, understand that it usually not about you even a little, so don't try and make it that way. As with any success principle, the art of communicating is a skill that can (and must) be learned if we are going to live to the fullest. I wish you the best on your continuing journey- make it a truly great day!

Telling the Value Story You arrived on time and completed your calculations. You worked up a presentation of all the things you're going to do and items included, going over each item carefully. You've just given the customer the price. They look at each other. He says, "Okay. Thanks for the quote. Well get back to you. Of course, we need time to think about it. It looks good. I've heard good things about you. So there's no need to worry. We never make a decision without thinking it over first." Value-added Selling? "Value-added." That word is used so much it has become a cliché in business circles. There may not be a business in the world that doesn't claim to be a "value-added" seller. Telephone Techniques TELEPHONE TECHNIQUES Why Cold Calling Is Dead Our world of selling is closed off from other areas of business that continue to adopt and embrace new, efficient ideas. I was reminded of this recently while re-reading Seth Godin's "Permission Marketing." Here's a book that was intended for business owners and marketing executives, yet it provides a much-needed dose of common sense that would be of great benefit to sales organizations, especially sales managers, who continue to cling to very old, and, in their minds, very right, ideas. Unfortunately, our brave new world has made these old ideas very wrong. Lock, Stock, and Barrel! An Introductino to Insurance Lead Generation It is vital that insurance salespeople have a steady stream of leads. The salespeople must have good leads in order to know who may be more open to purchasing certain types of insurance. Eighty Percent of Success is Showing Up The above quote, "Eighty percent of success is showing up." is from Woody Allen. It was particularly appropriate this past weekend. How to Give Your Customers a Choice Between You and the Competition and Have Them Choose You Instead of giving your customers or potential customers a choice between you and your competition and having them choose the other guy, have them choose you. What Successful Sellers Know - Others Dont ... The Subtle Art of Closing Ask any salesperson, "At what point in the selling process does the 'Close' take place?" Eight out of ten will answer, "at the End". To be fair, they are not totally incorrect but they are, nevertheless, more wrong than right proving in principle and in practice, Perado's Law: Twenty percent of the sales force make eighty percent of the sales and profitability. Connecting with Customers I just got off the phone with a friend of mine. Business is up he said, but he didn't know why. I asked him a few questions, but more we spoke about it the more concerned I became.
