Theres No Time Like the Present
Today certainly is a present and we are to rejoice and be glad in it, because this is the day the Lord has made! Every day we rise to begin anew is definitely a gift from God. We've all heard the saying, "There is no time like the present". When you think about this, it's true. Each and every one of us is given this day as a free gift to be used in honoring our Creator in everything we do. We are however, given the choice to use this time any way we want. This special gift is very often times taken for granted but so often leaving us empty, wanting more. What more do you want? Do you want material wealth, power, fame or do want true contentment, peace, happiness and joy? Many times we will say that someone is, "living in the past, or living in the future". Why is it that we are everywhere but here? I believe that God intended for us to use our memories of the past to benefit our todays. We learn from experience, we learn from the past in order to make our lives better. God instructed us not to stay in the past. For one reason, that's where our sins are. Once we surrender to Christ, we give Him all those past sins, not to mention the present and future ones too. To remember these is not God's intention because Christ paid the price for those sins and when God says He has forgotten them, then we too must go forward and let them go as well. "As far as the East is from the West, so far has He removed our transgressions from us." Psalm 103:12 (Amplified) Jesus Himself warns us about not looking to the past anymore because it's not healthy for our life here on earth or the one for eternity. Jesus said to him, "No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back (to the things behind) is fit for the kingdom of God." Luke 10:62 (Amplified) When Jesus asked the man to follow Him, he replied, "Lord, permit me first to go and bury (await the death) of my father." Jesus replied by telling him to let the dead bury their own dead, but as for this man to go and publish abroad throughout all the regions the kingdom of God". Luke 9:59 (Amplified) In other words, Jesus is telling us to leave the death of sin and come forward today with Him into Eternal Life and spread the good news to others. Obviously there is no life in sin. Coming forward doesn't mean that we should run ahead of Him either. We tend to get in a hurry and wish our today away because..."we'll be happy when..." A life without Christ is not knowing how to be content and happy right now. But this is where our true happiness lies. The reason we will never find happiness if waiting on certain circumstances to happen first is because we are seeking temporal things. The truth is that even when and if we do obtain these material or carnal wishes, we still won't be happy, because by then some other priority will have taken its place. When God is first in our lives, we then find happiness in any situation. "Do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of it's own. Sufficient for each day is it's own trouble." Matthew 6:34 (Amplified) Christ knew the secret to happiness and He told us not to worry about anything that was not in our control. Face it, there is not much that we can control, so why worry? He knew this would create anxiety and fears, and this is not what God intends for His children. Fear and doubt is a trap that the enemy sets up for us to fall into. Fear and doubt takes us out of fellowship with God and that is exactly what Satan wants from all of us. God wants us to learn from His Words and the examples that are written in it. One example is when the Israelites ran ahead of God falling into traps of idolotry, complaining and doubting that the Lord would actually deliver them. As a result of their disobedience, God turned their wilderness journey into a 40 year trip that should've taken only days to complete. They created all their own trouble by doubting God. This holds true today, when our lack of faith and trust turns into a wilderness journey. God will keep us going around the same old mountain over and over until we are ready to submit to Him. This is how He gets our attention. If the journey seems too long, then we really need to search our relationship with God. The true fact is that when our carnal desires take presidence over God, we will always be led down the wrong path. One that is wide and tempting and holds many detours and dead ends. This wide path holds all the sins of yesterday, today and tomorrow. Why not make today the first day of the rest of your "eternal" life by submitting to Christ and living righteously for today? Let Him lead you down the straight and narrow path. Don't allow the enemy to tell you anything differently. Confess Jesus today as your Lord and Savior and admit that you are a sinner and need to be forgiven. If you say this from the heart, you will soon see a big change in your outlook on life. Live for today, live for Jesus! If you are heading in the wrong direction, remember...God allows U turns! Vivian Gordon is inspired by the calling of the Holy Spirit to write inspirational arcticles. The powerful tsunami that on Dec. 26, 2004, hit the lands in and surrounding the Indian Ocean, the Bay of Bengal, and the South China Sea caused terrible devastation and immediate loss of thousands of lives, followed by an aftermath in which tens of thousands more perished. The earthquake-triggered tsunami has prompted people all over the world to ask themselves and others, "Where was God when this happened? Did He fall asleep? Is He even real?" As The Storm Clouds Gather Revelation 20:8-20:9Jesus warned us of a time of great tribulation, as was never seen by man and never again will be seen. There are storm clouds gathering around us if we are willing to see. What Is True Egalitarianism? Why did the founding fathers of the United States consider egalitarianism to be such a necessary value? True egalitarianism is based on tolerance for differences. It is a principle of integrity much more than a rule of law. The antithesis of egalitarianism is judgment. Judging others does not define them. It defines you. Sex, Lies, & Videotape; Part 2 Acts 5:1-5:10 Sex, Lies and Videotape Part 2. Lies. What are lies? Is a lie an untruth, an omission of all the facts, is it a sin or unrightiouness, is it something that people use to cover-up lawlessness , or is a lie when you withhold all the facts? Yes, to all the above. A lie is a degration of ones own spirit, it gets into a persons attitude and lingers there like a leach, draining the lifes force out of them so that after a while, it becomes second nature not to tell the truth. Pomes II Here are a few pomes that may encourage you to read your Bible. I hope you enjoy these pomes, and I pray that it bring light into your life. Remember, all praise and glory go to the Lord Jesus and his Father God. Computerized Christians? Get Ready for the New Church! Isaiah 43;19 declares: "Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." The Gospel Of Convenience The subject of this document is so unpleasing to the 21st century American Christian, I believe that by writing it, I will step across a threshold of "Main stream evangelical Christian", to a "radical", a "dissenter", "out there" and even "lost" in the eyes of some folks who read these words. So be it. 2nd Coming of Jesus In this first verse, God says He will allow all the nations of the world to come against Jerusalem. This verse tells us that Jerusalem will be taken, the houses will be "rifled," and the women ravished. Half of the city will actually go into captivity, but the one third remnant will not be killed during this takeover. Remember, two thirds of the Jewish people will be killed, one third will not. Belonging to Jesus Christ In the name of Jesus, what shall we do in the time of grief. We do know that the failing of the Louisiana dams must be corrected. I like to know what the world thinks about this so call great country that have people so poor or disable that they can't even afford a bus ticket out of a city that is drowning, and the government wouldn't even make any provision for them to leave. This land so great a free, where were you in our time of need, that's right I forgot you were so greedy. You take our money and line you and your buddies pockets, and then say we don't want or fit the bill for it. We made your country what it is today. We paid for it with force labor, low wages and long sufferings, from war's past and present. Well let's see what the Bible says about this. First look at 2Corinthians 1:3 it says Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any troubles with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation, if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort. Ark of the Covenant - Purpose Hold on to your hat! Here comes one of the most, incredible stories of ancient technology, which ranks alongside the use of atomic forces and the 'Lost Chord'. Needless to say the editors of Scientific American who denied the Wright brothers had achieved airborne flight for months after Kitty Hawk won't or wouldn't believe this 'doozy'. I think it is a very good explanation that is part of something even more fantastic which explains the existence of accurate maps from over ten thousand years ago. But I also think these maps might have been the work of Mungo Man or the De Danaan they worked with. Union with Christ Unites Us to One Another Jesus knew He would be abandoned Falsehoods There are many different church denominations in this year of 2005 that is offering same sex marriage. This is an abomination before God. Lets see what the Bibles say about this matter. Look at Matthew 7:15 it says Watch out for false prophets. They come to you sheep 's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. Thoughts on the Road to Emmaus ". . . their eyes were opened, and they recognized him . . ." ?Luke 24:31 The Afterlife and Scientology AFTERLIFE: The 'Bardol Thodol' and 'Sidpa Thodol' of the Tibetan Book of the Dead with a forward by Carl Jung and Lama Anagarika Govinda, by Evans-Wentz is a great insight to the hallucinatory nature of the images we carry forward beyond the grave. These hallucinations (beliefs) go away and the 'white light' is all that remains. The 'white light' may not be seen by those still attached to this material plane and its' obsessions or propaganda for quite some period of time. The interstitial states of purgatory and limbo(words with all kinds of fables that are far from true, associated with them) are the realms wherein these devious 'visions' play out their energy upon the soul of unenlightened 'followers' of many belief systems. That is a simplistic overview, to say the least. The Need for Biblically Minded Engineers There is a great need in the world today for engineers who think and work from a Christian worldview. These engineers are needed to design, prototype, develop, and manufacture goods that support family economies, as opposed to city-corporate-paper economies, which strain the traditional family. Resurrection Faith (Part 2) Christ died. This is a historical fact not to be denied. But it is the claim of the apostle Paul that God showed His love for us through Christ dying for sinners; this is interesting. It is interesting because we wonder what was it that encouraged Paul to believe that Jesus' death was for sinners. He could not "see" the love of God at work. Jesus had been stabbed in the back and abandoned by His disciples. His mother and a few women, together with John stood by watching Him die. Near the cross, soldiers gambled. One thief cursed God and man. The other prayed as he died. But who of those around the cross watching Jesus die was suddenly overtaken with a great sense of God's love? Who testified about how much God loved them? What is Love? Now many confuse love with admiration and most commonly sexual lust, now days the younger generation driven by their wild hormones more often than not confuse their sexual desires with love, even some of the older generation fall into the same trap, I suppose everyone at some stage or the other confuses love for what it actually is. Can Jewish Americans Still Have Devout Catholic Friends? America is dividing again. Jewish Americans are finding it hard to discuss issues with devout Catholics who go with the flow and support the new Pope, Benedict XVI a former Hitler Youth. The Catholic Church says that he only joined because all citizens of his age were compelled to join. Yet would Jesus have joined the Hitler Youth? Six million, that's correct six million Jews were killed under Hitler's orders. The Hitler Youth threw rocks threw Jewish residence windows, helped turn in Jews and anyone who supported them or aided them. Later they assisted in rounding up Jewish folks. And today we have a former Hitler Youth as Pope of the Catholic Church, with out regard to the fact. We have devout Catholics unwilling to question this, unwilling to leave the church and willing to go with the program giving into the hypocrisy. It is a complete slap in the face to the free world for the Catholic Church with their power, wealth and abilities to appoint this Catholic Pope, Benedict XVI, who has already betrayed the teachings of Jesus and the purported mission of the Catholic Church. The Dark Side of The Pope If you look at just the man/women after he/she has died, what part of the humanity do you eulogize? Women as Catholic Priests: The Time for Change is Now In ancient Rome, the cradle of democracy, women had no rights. Their place was in the home under the custody and control of the master of the house, which would often be the husband or father. Her job was to take care of the house and family. She had no vote, could not govern, nor even conduct her own affairs without the oversight of a man. These are actions viewed as crude and uncivilized by today's standards. |
