The Fruit, the Whole Fruit, and Nothing but the Fruit
Once we become a new creature in Christ, we are given a special gift of "supernatural" vision. This is a gift of discernment in order to protect us from the things we see in the natural. This new vision takes us deeper to see the things that are seen beyond the natural. We no longer trust what our eyes see,we see what our heart sees. God knows that our eyes can be deceiving so He gave us this gift in order to protect us from the wolves in sheep's clothing. As an example,I would like to use my flower garden. Last spring I was checking on my flower garden that I had planted the year before.Much to my delight the flowers I had planted seemed to be flourishing, but soon they looked as they were taking over and nothing was blooming. Although these imposters took on a similar appearance, upon closer examination I soon realized that they were weeds choking out the original flowers. My precious flowers were being robbed of the essential sunshine and nutrients. Then it came to me, I remembered an important lesson that Jesus taught about discernment. It was simple really. He said you can tell if something is good by the fruit it produces. This not only applies to flowers, but people also.Without hesitation I pulled these seemingly innocent plants out by the roots, therefore giving the good fruit bearing plants a chance to grow and flourish. Just as I was able to recognize these weeds, our eyes have to be trained to see others for who and what they really are, not just by their outward appearance, but by the fruit they produce. In his affliction,Job asked of God, "Do You have eyes of flesh? Do You see as a man sees?" God is Spirit so therefore He sees in the Spirit. But God taught Job a valuable lesson to open his spiritual eyes, not only to see his own weaknesses, but to also see God for who He really is. God sees us for who and what we really are, we can't hide from Him the fruit we bear inwardly or outwardly. God also gave us this gift of seeing clearly through His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus came as the Light of the world to teach us that we cannot be wise in our own eyes. With the newfound ability to see in the Light, we are now able to see when others are in the dark about situations. In this discernment we get a feeling of conviction from the Holy Spirit that warns us of things that don't always appear as they seem. John 15:8: When you bear,(produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of Mine. (Amplified). How are we to grow and bear good fruit? We must first get rooted and grounded in love. The next time you see someone or something with your 'natural' eyes and it appears to be good, stop and ask yourself, "does it bear good fruit?" Priesthood is Not a Profession - Does this Attest for Unprofessionalism? 1 INTRODUCTION Spiritual Healing or Spiritual Malpractice? Christians with chronic illness need to know there is a source for healing beyond secular medicine that does not follow the pattern or knowledge of this world. That source is spiritual and comes from God! But there is a problem. Millions of Christians are being robbed the gift of spiritual healing through spiritual malpractice. Let Her Be Covered Part One Several weeks ago, while shopping in a grocery store, my wife was approached by a woman who appeared to be very refined -- very courteous manner. She indicated that she had a question that possibly she could answer. She and her husband had observed that some women wear coverings similar to the one that my wife was wearing. Why are they worn? Her husband's opinion was that it signifies marriage. She herself did not concur with that opinion. But why DO you wear it? That was her question. In response, my companion assured her that the wearing of the headcovering is a Biblical teaching recorded in 1 Corinthians 11. To her that was news. She seemingly was not aware that this was a Bible teaching, and with gratitude in her voice, she promised to go home and read for herself from 1 Corinthians 11. Teamwork in Ministry: Pauls Sense of Partnership in the Gospel In the pursuit of his Christian ministry, the Apostle Paul had a keen sense of teamwork, teamwork with God and with his brothers and sisters. This awareness he expresses by using compound Greek words that begin with the prepositional prefix, sun-. With an object in the dative case, sun means "together" or "with." This same prepositional prefix has carried over into English, occurring in such words as "symbiotic," "symphony," "synergy" (the Greek sun-, represented by sym- or syn-). What follows is a brief survey of the words Paul employed to express this sharing of ministry. You will discover that such sharing continues among 21st-century Christians. Choosing the Christian Path - 147.5 million Americans claim affiliation with a religious group Pagan Religions Taught In Public Schools In classrooms throughout the country, Judeo-Christian beliefs are often cast aside or ridiculed. Multiculturalism studies, environmental propaganda, and Save-the-Earth classes now indoctrinate children with New-Age religious beliefs, often without parents' knowledge. Public schools sometimes try to sneak offensive pagan or new-age religions into their curriculum without parents' knowledge under the guise of multiculturalism studies. The Apocalypse Revelation 6:2-6:8.I will bring thee down, saith the LORD. Revelation: Something disclosed, especially something not previously known or realized: disclosure, exposé, exposure, and revelation. Apocalyptic eschatology is marked by the conviction that God will intervene decisively in the present evil age and vindicate his suffering elect over their oppressors, raising the dead, consigning the wicked to eternal destruction, and establishing a new creation. In the Bible, apocalyptic elements are present in the books of Ezekiel, Isaiah, Joel, Zechariah, and Daniel. The collection known as the Pseudepigrapha Christian Book Stores are a Great Indicator of the Popularity of the Religion in Demography Have you ever wondered how exactly would someone find out which parts of a city or even a state is more religious than another? As an Internet enthusiast I always figure there is some help rendered for such research in any walks of life from websites. The one particular topic I chose to write for this article is how to find out which locality is good for targeting your website advertisements. Here I am taking one Christian Book Store as an example to drive the point. The popularity of books in a particular topic is based on two factors, the segments popularity and the quality of the book. This is based on my own lexicon. The First is how popular Christianity is as a topic to read at this particular time. The second is more of a wider scope as it has the keyword "Quality", some of it is author's popularity (!?), title name, topics covered, the style and language. This is what makes a book, a high quality piece of "Marketing Material". Don't be offended when I tell a book is a Marketing Material. The targeted audience is booksellers and distributors plus you as a person who like to understand how well your community can be gauged against the religious meter. The Basics of the Christian Walk Now that I am saved, what do I do next? That is a very common question for people who have just recently got saved. I recently read that 50% of all people who get saved drop out within the first year or two. Sex, Lies, & Videotape; Part 3 Conclusion Life as Simulator Recently I met an interesting Gentleman at a Coffee Shop, Robert V. Ries, was his name. Bob expressed to me that he felt our life experience was nothing more than a really good simulator which put us into organic bodies to experience the Earthlings Realm and to test our will and strength of character in a variety of situations. He went on to say that we were interacting with many other is the same simulator. We talked for hours and his theories seemed somewhat far-fetched, although he did go into a long scientific explanation of how this might work. Paul?s Letter to 21st Century Christians Dear Readers, I received a letter this week that is written in Greek that I have translated and would like to share with you. Treachery in the Midst of the Land The term Scripture uses to describe the activities of those who attempt to sell-out Israel comes to mind. "Treacherous!" Following In the Masters Footsteps In these interesting times of change, millions of people the world over are struggling to find their personal truth - a truth that will sustain them through their present moments and through whatever the future may bring. There are as many definitions of what will happen to this planet in the next fifteen years as there are belief systems, but in the midst of the dissension is one commonality, and that is worldwide agreement that change - in whatever form it takes - is inevitable. The world just can't go on the way it is; something has to give, somewhere. Living Without Blueprints Some people look at the biblical book of Revelation as a blueprint for the end of time. It tells exactly when the end will come, how it will come and who will be punished when it happens. Those with this perspective buy up apocalyptic fiction like the "Left Behind" series and confidently pronounce that we are in the "end times." They may even associate certain modern day figures or happenings with supposed end-of-times events. There are three basic problems with this perspective: (1) It is counter to the pronouncements of Jesus himself; (2) It ignores the long history of people who have tried to use Revelation in this way; and (3) It is counter to the nature of faith itself. Let's look at these three problem areas more closely. Possibilities in Prayer Prostrateology is the theological term for the doctrine of prayer. Prayer is the oldest form of worship and is universal to all types of religions and believers. Even atheists rely on prayer in some form or another to make it from day to day. Man has always marveled at how things happen in life and how to change those things that have not yet happened. The answer for the Christian has always been prayer to God, Jehovah, in the name of His son Jesus. Give Him a Stone Luke 11:10-11:13 |
