Passion To Succeed
"Spiritual Intelligence" (SI) is the ability of a person to acknowledge and observe established principles that can affect his potential to succeed. This may be simple and practical, but some have missed the point. The article below is written to illustrate how a principle affect a person's career. "When you are full, you even hate honey. When you are hungry, even what is bitter tastes sweet" (Proverbs 27:7) What motivates people to succeed is "passion"... passion is also defined as "hunger". In basketball championships, we often hear from game anchors that "the hungrier team often gets the crown". When Filipino boxing hero Manny Paquiao moved up in weight and fought Antonio Barrera of Mexico, as his countryman, I thought then, he is not yet ready-- I am afraid for Manny because Barrera has the built and experience. But I was proven wrong. I underestimated the hunger and passion of Manny-- he prepared, worked hard, got a plan, took the risk and made a step of faith... He won! Though his gallant stand with another Mexican boxer, Eric Morales, is not enough, Manny was bloodily defeated. After he was humbled, he is still determined to get a second crack. Inspite of what he experienced, his defeat can't quench his passion to succeed. Passion is hunger-- to a hungry person, the choice of food is not as important as the need to be filled. What drives people to his destiny is this hunger. Unless a man knew the purpose for his existence, there will be no hunger. Success is not only measured by money, or the title attached to a person's name, but the fulfillment of one's calling. When there are setbacks, like in the case of Manny Paquiao, it is passion that will keep us going... If a person doesn't have passion, he may be wearing the wrong hat. A person must dig into his heart and check his dreams, his desires. These treasures are kept in man's heart. In my short life, this is what I learned. The more I get into my calling, instead of being filled, the more I become passionate... Sonnie E. Santos HR Manager & Trainer MyBlog: http://skopun.blogspot.com/

Overcoming Bad Moods From experience, one of the biggest stumbling blocks for people who attempt to improve their states of mind is feeling motivated to use the strategies when they have already slipped into negativity. Sometimes, despite our best intentions, we just cannot help but fall into a less empowering mood, and then we stop doing the things we know we should do to feel good. The Power of Positive Thinking: Unlimited Possibilities Does negative thinking pay? Is it desirable for me to encourage thoughts in my mind that break down, hinder, and incapacitate me for good work? Do I want negative thoughts that inevitably bring discontent, unhappiness, and ultimate failure in their train? Five Ways to Stay Positive in a Negative World In view of the increasing negative events happening around the world here are five things you can do to help you stay positive. Success or Failure: How to Cope With Failure There is no such thing as failure ? only feedback ? we can learn from our failures. Do not let apparent failures beat you up, learn from them. As humans, we tend to be harder on ourselves than others are. A small child learning to walk never fails to get up and try and try and try until success is achieved. It is the same in life; every failure is a step closer to success. Create Your Own Confidence Bank Account This is a technique that sounds a bit silly when you first hear about it (and doesn't seem at first to get much better as you read on) but WORKS, which is what counts, if you apply it to your life. The idea is to "open" a Confidence Bank Account for yourself. Bear with me on this! Lifes Curveballs Do you realize how good you have it? Yes, everyone has problems, but it could be worse than what it is now. Yes, everyone has a bad day or two, but it could be worse. Life can throw some serious curveballs at us sometimes. The Mind?s Power Fusion Component It is widely believed that just anybody has the intrinsic potential to unfold an idea that will generate the revolutionary change(s) the world needs. That's erroneous! Envisioning Your Ideal Self In my work as a professional coach, I've had the opportunity to interact with hundreds of individuals. I've found that people who are successful and fulfilled share common characteristics. Chanel Your Prosperity Energy Today Every emotion, wether we classify it as good or bad, has energy. Think about it. Can't you feel it when you are angry or bouncing off the walls happy? Just as there are levels of energy for these emotions, there are levels of energy for another emotion - wanting. Be Positive This may sound quite aberrant to most of the younger generations who are not really exposed to the personality development articles, books or motivational lectures. Does Lack of Confidence Stop You? Ever had the sense that there is more to life than you're experiencing? Start Your Day on Your Terms Most of us start the day like we're trying to catch a train. We wake up, grab a cup of coffee, look at the paper and listen to the news. We rush out of the house to make an appointment or deadline or to put the finishing touches on a project. From deadline to appointment it goes. When we leave work we have other responsibilities and obligations, and it doesn't end until we go to sleep, and for some it still doesn't end. We never do catch the train. We forgot one essential thing. We are the conductor and the train can't go anywhere without us. Are You A Victim Of FABS? Part One Have you heard of the FABS? The FABS are quadruplets; they are not identical but they are very, very similar! The FABS are: Fear, Anger, Blame and Shame. This quartet love to arrive, uninvited, at people's houses and literally stay forever. They will certainly stay as long as you allow them to; they never seem to get tired of hanging around and causing troubles for the unsuspecting host. The Illusion of Failure The most dangerous thing is illusion.~ Ralph Waldo Emerson Beware: Your Mind is a Battle Field! When Living Mindfully Normally I race around multitasking. I am always thinking about a million things while I try and do at least two activities at once. More and more I forget what two things I'm doing and I often feel guilt that I'm not doing either terribly well. This certainly is the lament of every working mom. There is a Zen story that tells of a man charging down a road on a galloping horse. Another man, on the side of the road, yells to the first man, "Where are you going?" "I don't know", replies the rider, "Ask the horse." The horse represents our galloping thoughts pulling us along throughout our day. We don't know where we are going and we couldn't stop, even if we did. What Every Employee Should Know About Looking Beyond His Attitude Our attitude makes seems to control just about everything about us. It helps us get better grades in school, become more generous and courteous to others, and enjoy better health. Finding Meaning in Life: Three Steps So how do we find meaning? The first step is through personal experiences ? experiences through something to which we are familiar and through someone we value. Develop your appreciation of beauty ? that is heightening your sensitivity to beauty such as in great art or wonders in nature. The most important of all these type of experiences is the love we feel toward each other. To love another and to demonstrate this to such an extent as to allow your beloved to develop ? and by doing this we will find that we develop meaning ourselves. Love is the highest purpose to which we can aspire. Beliefs Do you realize that what we believe about ourselves, affects us so much more than what is actually true about ourselves? Let me give you an example of what I mean. |
