Media Advertising: New Alcohol Advertising Codes - 1 October 2005
Businesses advertising alcohol either in TV or non-broadcast format need to ensure they comply with the new Alcohol Advertising Codes ("Codes"). The Codes for both TV and non-broadcast advertisements have now been published. All alcohol advertisements appearing from 1 October 2005 need to be compliant with the Codes. They include such things as: Marketing communications should be socially responsible and should neither encourage excessive drinking nor suggest that drinking can overcome boredom, loneliness or other problems. Care should be taken not to exploit the young, the immature or those who are mentally or socially vulnerable. People shown drinking or playing a significant role should neither be nor look under 25 and should not be shown behaving in an adolescent or juvenile way. Younger people may be shown in marketing communications, for example in the context of family celebrations, but should be obviously not drinking. Marketing communications should not suggest that drinking alcohol is a reason for the success of any personal relationship or social event. Links must not be made between alcohol and seduction, sexual activity or sexual success. The wording of the Codes differs slightly for television advertisements although the meaning and effect would be the same. If you require further information contact us. This is a deplorable moral atrocity to perpetrate against Americans and must be reversed. Those responsible should know that they have destroyed their own credibility in the eyes of a free people, and should now go join the insurgency in Iraq. Faith in Our Government Many have lost faith in the government and are completely afraid that no one there has a clue as to what they are doing. Others have complete faith. Which is the right answer? Is it somewhere in between? Are our tax dollars being spent efficiently? Who is over seeing this huge blob of bureaucracy? How to Tell When Government Regulators are Shopping You In this day and age of tattletale, whistleblower heroes and homosexual bureaucrats with an axe to grind, we often find government regulators calling up business people to try to entrap them. As a matter of fact one worthless agency called the FTC ? Federal Trade Commission will often call up Biz Op companies and attempt to get them to say something they shouldn't. Usually it is obvious as they straight away ask questions that no buyer would ever in a million years ask in the first three sentences. Why do they do this? They do it because they have so many honest business people to call and so few crooks they need to quickly find the bad ones so they can score another point for the agency. What they end up doing is picking a fight with you when you do not say anything, which will get you in trouble then quickly dial the next number. This is utter BS and over regulation. Who do they get to do such petty, vindictive things; after all who would want a job like that? Well easy they find men who think they are women; vindictive and petty homosexual men? Have you ever sat in a coffee shop and listened or rather over heard a homosexual male with a lisp talk about his boyfriend; how about as you waited to get a haircut? Oh my God, they go on and on and loud, they are so loud. As if you want to hear these details. You know how women talk, but these guys, oh wow, they can go on for hours in a screechy voice. Smelter Closures In America Hurt Our Industrial Output The United States is losing its industrial capacity quite rapidly. Some environmentalists call these "old industries" and say we do not need them anymore; that we want clean industries. Yet the environmental mitigation equipment has kept up with the needs and our heavy and older industrial industries. Such industries are extremely important to the health of our nation because they represent the raw material production needed to make things. The closer these industries are to the final assembly points of parts means cost savings are rendered which make it easier to compete on the finished products with foreign competitors. For instance if we have a low dollar compared to the rest of the world we have an advantage in cost. But if we eat up that advantage in transporting the processed raw materials from foreign lands then the advantage is lost in transportation and distribution. John Kerry as a Prosecutor? Prosecutors with political ambitions are known to modify the truth or withhold evidence in order to get a conviction. It is so common in fact that the greater the political ambitions the greater the unethical ness of their tenure as a prosecutor. It is for this reason that we must do a background on every case that John Kerry falsified as a prosecutor in order to maintain such a high conviction rate. After all political ambitions for President of the United States are great indeed an there is a significant motivation to cheat? I believe John Kerry kicked his dog and unless he can prove otherwise we ought to make a note of it. And it is of interest that the companies involved in this process are huge, as big as the oil companies they will compete against. Also of interest is the fact that automakers will have to do some fancy footwork to keep car sales moving in the 2003-2004 time period with zero/zero financing now. People will be upside down in auto loans for a while and no reason to take a huge financial hit by trading in those cars, SUVs and light trucks. How Can We Elect Good Leaders? Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Men desire power. Give power to those men who have the greatest apparent altruism by nature, experience and by example. Give these beings the ability to attain those innate needs, while simultaneously helping the whole. Mankind will be fulfilled and work itself to the common good with forward progress. Other men will follow who are similar and rise up. I saw a great picture on the front cover of the NY Times where the Politicians were busy having a party congratulating themselves for getting a bill passed in the Senate. Hypocrisy of Over Regulation All to often law makers and regulators create rules and regulations using a linear mindset. They claim they understand the issues, even have public hearings to prove it. Yet the people who are able to attend such things are usually lawyers and losers. Losers because anyone in the market place who was winning does not have time to show up, they are too busy producing and participating in their respective industries. So they hire attorneys to show up and talk with regulators. Those attorneys who have no real clients of any value also show up because they know be getting in bed with the regulators and bending over a little, they can get the occasional reach around in the process and a little juice. This can help them get good corporate clients and make big bucks. All these scoundrel, I mean attorneys have to do is promise the regulators jobs when they get sick of the bureaucracy. Free Trade, Outsourcing, Protectionism and Reality Check Recently on C-SPAN, there were two gentlemen debating free trade one from the CATO Institute for free trade. Yet he failed to mention the real problem, the lawyers, over regulation and government bureaucracy. They seem to be under the impression that Americans did not want to work in manufacturing jobs? What on Earth was he thinking? If the CATO Institute, a conservative free enterprise think tank, is going to go on National Television and debate free trade, surely they have more depth to understand the plight of the manufacturers in this country.
