The Wall of Honor

Many Americans have children, fathers, mothers, grandparents, other family members and friends who have served in the armed forces. For these individuals, they understand the importance of protecting this country because of the sacrifices these American servicemen and women have made for us as citizens of this great nation.

In our home, we have a wall of honor. This wall honors my father, LeRoy C. Hoagland, my father-in-law, Richard Smith, my husband, Kenneth R. Smith and my step-son Korbet Smith. On this wall are their pictures, their medals and for two of them, the flags presented to the family upon their deaths. Three of these men served in two wars, WWII and Vietnam. One of them, my father, received the Purple Heart from the largest naval battle in history, the Battle of Leyte Gulf. He was left to die on the beach because of the severity of his wounds. However, 24 hours later, a medic realized he was still alive and transported him to a medical ship bound for Australia. Dad was airlifted to San Diego, CA where he spent 2 years and faced over 10 major operations.

As we celebrate this day of prayer and remembrance, we must recognize that without the sacrifices of past and current service personnel, we would not have the opportunity to be the greatest country in the world. Even though today is a national day of recognition for those honorable women and men, we all should take a few moments every day to offer prays for these courageous individuals. For it is the walls of honor within those American families that allow us to "still hold these truths to be self-evident."

Union Members Don t Be Fooled, Conservative Talkers Have it in for You
Ever wonder why labor unions consistently endorse democrats over republicans in nearly every election? The answer is simple. Democratic officials support the right of workers to unionize and collectively bargain. Ronald Reagan, the great communicator, communicated loud and clear that he didn't recognize unions, or their right to strike, when he decertified the air traffic controllers union in 1981. This executive order led to the largest labor protest in our nation's history when 400, 000 men and women protested in Washington, DC against the policies of the Reagan administration. Reagan's message was clear; it is legal to fire striking workers.

Justice Department Losing the War on Street Gangs
The Justice Department is at it again; promoting themselves in the mass media attempting to convince us we are safe. This time they are grandstanding a few arrests of alleged gang members. MS-13 is recruiting over 300 people per week in cities across the United States. Recently the Justice Department held a huge press conference, claiming that in a two-week period they arrested 582 people. Now then if the MS-13 gang is recruiting 300 people per week and the caught 582 in two-weeks then they are 18 gang members in the rear for that two-week period alone. Most of the offenders, gang members were said to be picked up between July 16 and July 28, other arrests followed after search and seizures of evidence was taken. Do not get me wrong it is great to catch these drug sellers, thieves and felons, but at a growth rate of 300 per week and an estimated 10,000 members and growing MS-13 is hardly under control; it more resembles a wildfire nearing its maturity.

Do Not Tell The Truth
Do you really want to get ahead in your life? Do you want to grow a business really large? Do you want to be powerful? Well then do what works. For instance the United States Government is big and powerful. They control every aspect of your life and your business if you own one. They never tell the truth about much of anything. An example would be the Justice Department and their bunk lawsuits. Much of the time they make stuff up, doctor the truth and file it in court. Why do they do this, it seems to be unethical? Well, because it works. You see the Justice Department has had lots of practice suing law abiding Americans and they have failed a lot and study what works. Like the Donald Trump show they have learned to slander brand names and people in the court of public opinion and trump their almighty ethics. Same as the kids as they lie, cheat and smear their fellow man on the Donald Trump "You're Fired" series. The Government has learned this tactic to win cases.

Prison Abuses on Good Muslims
Well we have certainly been reading a lot about prison abuses. Many of us in the Western World are completely outraged at the media leak of the photos at Abu-ghareeb. It is a horrible travesty that those photos were shown on the Internet and TV where prisoners were involved in sexual activities with their Arab Brothers in compromising homosexual and adultery affair activity. What a complete low point in their lives to be publicly humiliated for their activities in the prison. We should not exploit their willful and lustful sexual advances on our female prison guards or their own Arab brother prisoners. How could these prisoners betray their Allah and their family names in such disgrace? We should not tell the world of their misdeeds in those prisons. What happens in prison stays in prison. If those prisoners have gay, homosexual, extra marital affairs we should not be taking pictures for any other reason than to psychoanalyze their current or rapidly deteriorating mental health status.

Richard Nixon, the truth
Richard Nixon was by far a most fascinating and colorful character in our nations history. Richard Nixon, well even his dog's past was checkered. Richard Nixon was an excellent diplomat, negotiator and politician. Anyone who studies Machiavelli, Carl von Clauswitz, Politics and the reality of the human species has to understand what really goes on. Without praise or condemnation Richard Nixon was a man who indeed, did care very much for this country and served our nation very well in many regards. His foreign diplomacy and tough negotiations came in handy at a time when those skills were needed. And yes there was the other side of history as well. I recommend an Audio Book, which has many excerpts of his secret tapes on them to better understand the man;

Rugged Individualism vs Human Nature
"Rugged individualism" is actually a euphemism for Thomas Hobbes' baseless concept of man's natural condition as a war of everyone against everyone else. Even different species of wild animals (each of which has its own group soul, as opposed to humans, which have individual souls) cooperate with one another for their mutual benefit, so Hobbes would have had us believe that mankind is inherently more bestial than the beasts, perhaps explaining the name of the pop "music" group known as the Beastie Boys.

Bio Attack Nation Unready
We are told by out leadership that we risk loss of American life from a Bio-Attack. This is quite a scary notion. We have already allotted over 20 Billion US Dollars to the cause of prevention since 9-11. Tom Ridge indicated that Bio-Terrorism is amongst one of our biggest fears, as much or more than nuclear detonation within our borders. Meanwhile we have Pig Disease and Bird Flu running its course in China and the CDC, WHO, HHS and other organizations and agencies are warning of us an impending Pandemic on top of any Bio-logical or chemical attack being planned by Al Queda.

Retirement Age Will Have To Be Raised Since People Are Living Longer
With people living longer we have some problems as those with pensions will be receiving monies much longer than anticipated. They will be using hospitals and need care longer and all of this will cost us more. Also at issue is Social Security as we have been listening to in the news lately. Yes, the once small $1300 pay from the Roosevelt Ear has now reached epic proportions and the ponzy scheme is a financial crisis waiting to happen. You can also expect many of the huge pension fund contributions of America's largest corporations to renege on their pledges. Do not expect to find a new wave of retirees moving into the golf course condos, unless they have a large financial nest egg. Many retirees are worried. Ask any financial advisor, investment advisor or insurance sales person what the number one thing people ask for today? Long Term Health Care Insurance; costs have skyrocketed and folks are living longer and very worried. Want to live longer?

Environmental Economics, Stream of Thought
Entrepreneurs can clean up the environment if we would let them. Look at Fred Smith's Brilliant plan to challenge American Ingenuity paid off. He said to the industry, build me a delivery van that uses 50% of the fuel as our current units and emits 90% pollution and he will by 19,000 of them. Well guess what, it worked. Thus proving that Free Enterprise can solve the problems of the human race five times faster than any government intervention or regulation.
