Globalization
Often we see protests at the sites of global leader gatherings. Some complain Globalization is bad, that a one world currency is evil and that there is a huge conspiracy a foot to control all of mankind. Yet, these same folks often fail to see the incredible advantages to trade and quality of life that a one-world scenario can provide. They fail to understand the issues of free trade and what we can do for the third world. Before you buy into the anti one world theme and do your family name the dishonor of standing on a corner and making a fool of yourself, there is a book I recommend that you read: "One World Ready or Not" by William Greider. This is an older book as it was written in 1997. But it brings up many points that are important to understanding the merging of Asian, European and North American currencies. As free trade and developing nations come into first world nations we will see many changes. The book is very good as it discusses issues almost too numerous to list in real terms. I recommend the book to anyone who finds themselves thinking they understand the global economics of the future. It may help you reason other aspects you may not have considered previously if you are not an economist. Read it and think about it and if you still feel yourself being coaxed by friends to stand on the corner in mass protest you will find you and your friends soaking wet from fire hoses, in the polluted water of your own follies. Mexico; Look What We Did The number-one question people ask us is, "What possessed you to move to Mexico?" The number-one answer we give is that we simply could no longer afford to live in America, so we found a country where we could, and moved there. Army recovers terrorists? bodies from avalanche-hit areas in South Kashmir As the death toll in the avalanche-hit Jammu and Kashmir is increasing day by day, the security forces have recovered the bodies of few terrorists who had taken shelter in the foothills of Pir Panjal mountain ranges to escape the clutches of security forces. Little did these terrorists know that they wouldn't be able to escape Nature's fury even if they hide from the army. These terrorists were also buried alive with hundreds of other civilians in the avalanches that stuck in a big way in three Qazigund villages situated in the foothills of Pir Panjal. The Economic Giant-- A Closer Look at China IT'S NO LONGER NEWS THAT CHINA IS BECOMING A MAJOR player on the world economic scene. Yet, as we've noted in past editions, investing in China is fraught with uncertainty, due to a still un-free political situation, and insecure property rights. Despite our current lack of interest in Chinese stocks, China's renaissance clearly has implications for investor decisions worldwide, simply due to its market's enormous size. Protecting Children From Porn There's a new Michigan state register (at https://www.protectmichild.com/) in the works to create a database of e-mail addresses that cannot (under penalty of the law) be spammed with content that could be deemed objectionable to children, most notably porn. The database will extend to include pager and cell phone numbers sometime in the future. Right now, it's sort of like the national DO NOT CALL registry, but for electronic mail. The History of Trade and Using it as a Weapon for Peace The Flow of Trade is a major consideration of civilizations and cultures working together to insure that they can get what they need. Some areas have special crops, which grow in their regions, which the other regions would like to have. In days of the First colonies in this country, before it was a country trade with the local Indians were vital to them staying alive. Our ancestors traded with the Native Indian tribes to insure the colony had the food and things needed to get through the winter months. Jihad Will Continue The Jihad against the Western World will continue. It will also continue against the Eastern World next. Why is this happening; why do they continually plan to attack innocent life? Why are they using this weapon against others? Why are they using their religion to build their International Terrorist Teams and recruit suicide Jihadists? Well the answer to the question is because it works. The Jihad works and many are folding their hand. Mass Media hysteria and fear have taken their toll on weak peoples of many countries, who are surrendering their freedoms and their civilization's forward progression to this simplest of tactics. Spain in the Madrid Bombings caved into International Terrorism, they should have never done that. Such a back track will not save them from future attacks and it certainly assists the Jihadists in their war on the civilized world. MORAL ARMORS Counterfeit 911: Refuting Michael Moore Michael Moore asserts the following in his political film Fahrenheit 9/11: Debt Relief and Reality Check The United States and other first world nations have been asked to forgive debts of foreign third world nations. We have obliged in doing so. This is a tremendous gift to the world, yet there are a few problems with this. Number one; that money, we as a nation are paying interest on the debt. It adds to our national debt. Another issue is that when you give away money you make others weak; "give a man a fish" theory. Often when we give other nations monies we do so for a specific ear marked use. How Does the US Congress Really Work? Many people do not understand politics very well. They often blast their Congress Person for this, that and the other thing. You are probably one of them; no worries you are not alone as a matter of fact if you watch enough TV you will blast and condemn all our leadership figures. What might be beneficial to your understanding before you start point fingers at the politicians, is to better understand human nature, inner workings of clubs and groups and the human and primate innateness and genetic make up of politics. Before you turn to accuse me of judging our politicians as a bunch of no good apes or their chimpanzee cousins there is a book you should read. It is also available on audiotape if you do not like to read anything longer than a one-page article. Or you can simply take my word for it? The book is called: Sweet Lies, The Aspartame Issue Aspartame activists are constantly being attacked because all data are a matter of public record from congressional records to government documents. Now there is even a movie, Sweet Misery: A Poisoned World (www.docworkers.com) that exposes how Don Rumsfeld got aspartame approved even though the FDA said no. Go to this link to see a clip of the movie exposing the politics Rumsfeld used: http://www.soundandfury.tv/pages/Rumsfeld2.html Bullington used the issue of when I lectured for the World Environmental Conference. Someone by the name of Nancy Markle put her name on a post I wrote about it, disorganized it somewhat, and a networker sent it around the world. Monsanto used front groups to try and say it was a hoax even though my invitation to speak was on www.dorway.com/nomarkle.html So many people got off aspartame and got well that Monsanto could not put out the fire and sold the NutraSweet Company. The story is in the book Politically Incorrect Nutrition by Michael Barbee. Because I was willing to put my phone number on the Internet there was no way for them to get away with it. Here is my published reply to the newspaper. Is Congress Going to Lay the Groundwork to Include Education with the Steroid Legislation? As of late steroid use in sports has been the topic of conversation by the media. From Jose Conseco appearing on Donnie Deustch's "The Big Idea" which airs on CNBC to Congress looking to pass legislation to regulate steroid use in professional sports. Regional Grid Power Backup; Energy Ideas Our Hydro-electricity accounts for some 20% of our current needs. Hydro Power; think of that? We do use the most electricity per capita than any other country in the World, but we also have the strongest middle class and rank near the top in quality of life and standard of living. For instance try living in Baghdad at 120 degrees with no air conditioning. We have done quite well with our hydro in this country and much of this has to due with the abundant flow of water. Of course recently in many regions of the United States severe droughts have hurt our ability to make electricity from hydro. Voters are to Blame for Bad Politics When I was growing up, I actually considered a career in politics. I quickly changed my mind, though, when I discovered that there was way too much politics involved in it. Obviously, that's a play on words, but I get funny looks from people when I tell them that. However, I am completely serious. The politics of running for and holding elective office is influenced too much by the politics of power, influence, and money. But whose fault is it that such a condition exists? I believe voters have no one to blame but themselves. Why Can?t We Have a More Responsive Government? The great people of the United States of America deserve and should have a more responsive government. What is the problem; we are the government; so why are we holding ourselves back? Let's get busy and get it done. Dog catchers, building plans, code enforcement, even the city councils, county commissioners should be as responsive as the police departments, FedEx or the American Automobile Club. After all if, a customer calls, who pays taxes they should be given the same service that Dominos Pizza would give them if you called for a pizza. Why can it not be this way? Truth is it can. Chinese Military Build Up - Sun Tzu and Chinese War Machine We are currently seeing a build up in China of their military, with 7 new classes of warships. Buying of 15 Billion worth of jet fighters from Russia, advances in Space which can lead to Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles, Electromagnetic Weapons, training and recruiting of personal for army. Taiwan is extremely concerned as is Japan, Russia is thrilled having been able to sell them technologically advanced weaponry. Our defense industry is upset seeing sales go to other countries, also alarming in our trade deficit and money flows out of our country to China, which is being used to buy the weapons in the first place. Airbus is establishing a military division to catch some of that money flow too, having watched Boeing which also sells military and commercial make major end roads to markets thru R and D partially coming from US Government, which as we know has been a debate in the EU and fair trade rules as Airbus is funded in part and subsidized by European governments who are simultaneously deficit spending. The selling of weapons in the world is quite alarming and makes the case for Iranian or North Korea's nuclear weapon ambitions a tough one, in that shouldn't a country have the right to defend itself? A worthy debate although a government, which has proved untrustworthy in the past obviously should never be trusted with such destructive power which once used would surely change the history of mankind. NAFTA; What did we learn? A quick look back at NAFTA; how did we do? Battling Societys Cancer: Unemployment The official figures are staggering: 35% of the workforce - about 280,000 people - are unemployed and looking for a job. Each 1.43 employee support 1 unemployed person. In the USA the figure is 3.3 to 4 employees supporting all the unemployed AND all the pensioners! Question Authority Policemen in many US cities are taking their new authority over the terrorism issue way too seriously. They are using it as a reason to harass our citizenry. Just like a bunch of $5.00 and hour security guards. Give a guy a little authority and a badge and boy oh boy he'll show you. You know the problems in America with security guards who are so over zealous that they offend the people who make their job available. Now we have a recruitment issue with not enough people for the jobs in policing. So we are hiring security guards and giving them too much power. Thoughts Born of Tragedy ... ..."history may judge us to be the real bully if, in the our rush to punish someone, we act in ways contrary to our core beliefs and values as a nation"... On The Privatization of Social Security Reform Social Security has been talked of Capital Hill for many years. However, it is just put in a real action by President Bush recently. The reason is Social Security could have shortage to pay retirees by year 2018 and bankruptcy by year 2042 because the growth of retirees is faster than the contributors of Social Security. Privatization is the process of putting percentage of payroll tax of Social Security into private account that can be invested into stocks and bounds markets. Stocks and Bounds usually make more interest than the growth of Social Security. Thus, in turn, we respect more money to make up the shortage of Social Security. If it does, the Social Security is saved. Otherwise, It does not. This involves timing, ratio, management, and evidence. |
