Angel Inspired E-mails
This morning, I awoke somewhat down. As little seems to be going great in my new-to-a-wheelchair life, I guess I was falling victim to the old depression devil. He slips up on us and we may not even recognize him. Apathetically, I checked my e-mail and behold, an unsolicited e-mail from a reader of my FSBO mystery novel awaited me. It was as if someone had just poured some sunshine over my rain-soaked soul. The reader even said she had written a book review and posted it on Amazon, from where she had ordered her copy. It is hard to express how good that unexpected e-mail made me feel. When we contend daily with physical and/or emotional challenges, it is easy to occasionally forget how blessed we really are. Who of us is not confronted by problems? Who does not have need to receive some positive reinforcement? Not that we should rely, or be dependant, on others to establish or maintain our self-worth. Yet, it can be so refreshing to receive a communication from someone who is moved to invest a little of their precious time to send something besides a joke having added our name to a list of people they routinely forward humor to. The 91 Psalm promises that God has given His angels charge over us, to guide us in ALL of our ways. I actually think that, once in a while, an angel taps someone on the shoulder and whispers, "You could send a little personal e-mail to ?" Yes, I am certain that our angels are in communication. I don't believe that good angels push us. Rather, like the rational reasoning's of good people, angelic beings can be heard, and their wise council understood, by those persons who will listen. I am in no way here suggesting that anyone should go seeking wisdom from angels. The Bible specifically cautions against that! Yet, I do feel led to acknowledge their marvelous provision that is provided by a benevolent creator to aid mankind. Today, I feel that an angel encouraged the e-mail by one reader of my novel to brighten my day. Hey, this is the first article I've written in four months! Perhaps, I will once more spend some time writing? Could this be my gardian angel's way of telling me to post my musings on MilesBooks.com and for ezine readers? Simple Words The words, the thoughts, the processes go on and on. Star-Fire Ceremony The Templar flag Columbus and da Gama traveled under was the dominant economic (and therefore if for no other reason) force in the three centuries before they set sail. Not just in Europe as we have shown, but in the entire world, these progeny of the Phoenician Brotherhood ended feudal socio-political strangleholds and opened the way for new possibilities. For these reasons and the eventual weakening of the church influence and Inquisitions (though that is what the church started against THEM!) we can truly be thankful. Teilhard de Chardin FATHER PIERRE TEILHARD de CHARDIN: Quotes to Think About INSPIRATIONAL COMMENTS: Its Not Your Fault! Saying goodbye is easy for the traveler. I am a person who traveled so much that I had no roots except 'within' and I learned to be connected to 'What IS'. The Pertinence of Nudity Every kind of nudity is an abstraction. A man without clothes submits himself to immediate opinion. Nudity emphasizes coarseness devoid of culture, clothes advocate culture without coarseness. Culture and coarseness are subjective omissions. We wear our personalities, we also wear their failings. When romancing opportunity, man despises possibility. Nudity is the greatest opportunity that yields the nearest possibility to human perfection. Human perfection is an abstraction, too. The concept of drenching oneself with something that selfishly annuls this, is known as clothing. Topically, it is redeemed as Fashion. Life in the Universe; Part 1 Is there life ( extraterrestrial life or any other form of life) elsewhere in the universe.....a universe consisting of millions of galaxies, nebulas, blackholes, millions and millions of stars, unknown planets and other heavenly bodies millions of light years away from our solar system ?This we don't know, but we must bear in mind not to rule out the possibility of the existance of some form of life. The Concept of the Sublime in Eighteenth Century Philosophy The development of the concept of the sublime as an aesthetic quality distinct from beauty was first brought into prominence in the eighteenth century in the writings of Anthony Ashley Cooper (third earl of Shaftesbury) and John Dennis, in expressing an appreciation of the fearful and irregular forms of external nature, and Joseph Addison's synthesis of Cooper's and Dennis' concepts of the sublime in his Spectator, and later the Pleasures of the Imagination,. All three Englishmen had, within the span of several years, made the journey across the Alps and commented in their writings of the horrors and harmony of the experience, expressing a contrast of aesthetic qualities. Belief is Closure The CON in CONstructs: Three Theories An event occurs, then there must be an antecedent event, prior to it, causing it and this event will serve as an antecedent to another event and will lead it, if this theory is agreed means then there must be a starting or beginning for everything. This theory is called "theory of causal determinism". Now let us consider an event A, is said to occur, then two type or arguments can be posted one is called 'Fatalism' and other is called 'Free will'. Viewing from Anothers Perspective Sets Humans Apart? Recently I discussed what sets humans apart from other animals and species. The basic question, which has been kicked around for centuries is what makes man so unique? So, different than the other species we see? Many immediately take their religious doctrine and use it to answer the question; they say things like "God made us in his image." The animals were put here for us to use, eat, fish and etc; they are indeed here to serve man? After kicking around such notions which cannot be proved either way; a gentleman, David, came up with an interesting concept. All That We Are... Are Labels Within the confines of the known universe, a madness is present that taints all of the knowledge which every human being has aquired within their life, and within the lives of others. Why Im Glad Im Not a Minority Writer I'll admit that I used to be jealous of my compadres who were minorities in my BFA Creative Writing program. The rest of us were just crusty white kids with no rhythm. Joseph Bonaparte and The New Jersey Devil Joseph Bonaparte and The New Jersey Devil: Common Psi-sense Up until the start of the 20th Century there was a strong cadre of scientists like Michael Faraday and Sir William Crookes who knew integrating the humanities with hard sciences provided the greater insight or wisdom. The Keltoi The CIA's motto is "You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free." That is hard to swallow to say the least. Reducing Human Population Growth Due to the indoctrination of World Religions and their control over the masses, prior peoples were told to procreate the next generation to serve their god or gods. They were told how to live their lives and taught about sinful thoughts. Most of which are the very reason our species evolved to the top of the food chain. However now we see those who have superior intellect readily debunk the notions and tales of those religious leaders and their stories. What is happening now is that non-believers in Allah, God, Santa Clause or other Creator are not reproducing as much as those who do believe in superstition, voodoo dolls or World Religions. Nature Worship NATURE WORSHIP: - Wicca and witchcraft or other shamanic attunements akin to the kind of ethic and awe the great and beautiful (FREE) North American Indians had before the arrival of the 'civilized' men from the Old World. Satus Anxiety 'Every adult life could be said to be defined by two great love stories. The first - the story of our quest for sexual love - is well known and well-charted. The second - the story of our quest for love from the world - is a more secret and shameful tale. And yet this second love story is no less intense than the first.' Thus speaks Alain de Botton author of the thought provoking book Status Anxiety. In this day and age, we are given respect in direct proportion to our (perceived) "success". It is like a calibration, for the world to decide how much respect they owe us. So desperate are we for status, it is the over-riding concern of our lifetimes to achieve status and respect. Increasingly, status in the West has been awarded in relation to financial achievement. The consequences of high status are pleasant. They include resources, freedom, space, comfort, time and, as importantly perhaps, a sense of being cared for and thought valuable ? conveyed through invitations, flattery, laughter, deference and attention. Emerson and Plato You might be surprised by the breadth and reach of the influence of Plato. Even Ralph Waldo Emerson is one of his progeny. Emerson also had a lot of Swedenborgian Rosicrucian leanings and was heavily influenced by Thomas Carlyle whose biographers have still not figured out what his secret was that made him tell them they would never get him or his life right. That secret ties Carlyle and Goethe to Swift and other literary and scientific members of the Hibernians who oversee the Priory of Sion and Royal Society.
