To Retire Rich, Save and Invest Early
If you want to retire rich, start saving investing early. The most powerful tool when it comes to retiring rich, is compounding your returns on money saved when you are young. Through the power of compound interest, cash invested today has a massive impact on your wealth level when you retire. Look at it this way, assuming a retirement age of 65 and an annual compounded rate of return of 10%. * Bob is 40 years old and invests $20,000 a year for retirement. * Jenny is 21 years old and invests $5,000 a year for retirement. By the time they retire, Bob will have invested $400,000 and Jenny $220,000 respectively. But because of the power of compound interest, Bob will retire with half as much money as Jenny, despite investing twice as much! * Bob would retire with $1.97 million * Jenny would with $3.26 million So, what's the moral of the story? Stop robbing your future retirement income to pay for luxuries today. Maximize your annual contribution to your IRA When it comes to your IRA contribution limits, Uncle Sam's motto seems to be "use it or lose it". Workers that don't make the maximum allowable contribution to their Traditional or Roth IRA by the cut-off date, are plain out of luck unless they are in their mid-fifties and qualify for catch-up contributions. Take advantage of your employer matching funds Many companies will match up to fifty-percent of the contributions employees make to their 401k and other retirement accounts. If your boss will match your contributions, take full advantage of it, as it is money for nothing... literally free money! Don't take your retirement cash out when you change jobs The average American worker will change jobs several times in their career. When this occurs, the most foolish thing you could possibly do is to cash out of your retirement plan. What you should do is roll over the proceeds into an IRA or your new employer's 401k plan. Besides avoiding significant tax penalties, you will be able to keep your money working for you tax-free. Avoid IRA withdrawal fees There are numerous ways to withdraw money from your retirement account in the event of an emergency. However, before you even think about doing so, make absolutely certain that you have done everything required to qualify, otherwise, you will get a quite a shock when you are hit with what could be thousands of dollars in fees and penalties. Expand the Pie Don't just cut expenses - find a way to make more money! Get part-time work, or turn your hobby into a business enterprise. You should create additional streams of income to help fund your retirement.Often this is an excellent alternative to cutting costs and scrimping, because it allows you to maintain your current standard of living, while providing for your future retirement. *******************************************************************************

Franchise Opportunity Sellers Beware; franchise buyers lie on forms? It seems completely absurd that franchise buyers lie about their financial position, available cash and abilities in order to buy a franchise. After spending 8 years setting up franchises around the nation and fielding inquiries I am appalled at the lack of integrity of the average business buyer. If you wonder why franchisors make franchise buyers fill out forms and ask lots of questions it is because 75% or more of every franchise inquiry to a franchise company is misrepresentative of their reality. A franchise opportunity seller should beware of franchise buyers lying on forms. Press Release Scams and Successes: Reading Between the Lines Press releases are a means through which companies can keep the public up to date regarding their recent affairs. It is the duty of every public company to keep its investors and indirectly potential investors aware of what is going on in the company. It should not be forgotten, however, that it is in the ultimate interest of the company for the price of the stock to increase. Consequently, companies are increasingly selective about what and how information is presented in such releases. Your mother always told you, "If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is." That popular adage holds particularly true with regard to penny stock companies' press releases. Certainly all press releases are optimistic; companies would not release them otherwise. But when looking to invest in a company, be aware of overly ambitious, optimistic, and unsubstantiated press releases. A company that has had annual revenues of 10 and 11 million for the past two years and that claims that the coming year will bring revenues of 40 to 50 million, better have a darn good reason. Examining press releases by breaking down the argument into its underlying logic is an excellent way of uncovering reasoning that has been intentionally muddled to appear better than it is. For example, if a company says that its software sales increased 300% over the past year but do not indicate what percentage of their total revenue was composed of software sales, be suspicious. If a company does not lay out a detailed plan explaining how they will make money and increase earnings, it is likely that their only source of revenue is selling valueless shares to sucker investors. Four Key Components To Building A Trading System Need some insight on what you should really be striving for when you're building a mechanical trading system? When it comes down to it, there are really only a few criteria that are used in judging the merits of a trading system. The most obvious one is profitability - does the system work? But really, there's more to it than just that. The number of wins versus the number of losses is important too, but there's a lot of latitude there if the profitability is high. The size of the average win versus the size of the average loss tends to be held as important, and it is. However, that criteria is correlated to the number of wins and losses, so again, there's a lot of leeway there. The one thing that is too often overlooked is the consistency of a system. The fancier term for this is 'drawdown', but it's just a matter of consistency.....you'll see why below. Each of these four components is examined below, and then some of the common mistakes made when folks start building trading systems are discussed.
