How To Increase Creativity... Set Deadlines!
Deadlines are something all of us face from time to time. We face deadlines whenever we set even a small goal and commit to accomplish it... that's when deadlines becomes important and valuable to us. Why is a deadline so important?... Without one... many ofour projects would, be put off, or eliminated completely. The closer we get to a deadline the more our thoughts, ideas, imagination and creativity go to work to help us meetthe deadline. Daily... many of us set goals to start projects, completeand send out ezines, finish articles, or finish writing asales page for our websites. How many times do we put it off till the last minute? Then we remember, were committed... and have a deadline to meet on the project. That's when deadlines show their value and importance. Because, a deadline gets our juices flowing with new thoughts and ideas so we can get into action and complete the job... sometimes at the last minute. Even small goals take commitment and deadlines toaccomplish. Either they're important enough, to make acommitment to doing at a certain time, or we eliminate thegoal completly. My ezine goes out on the 4th and 18th of every month. Sometimes a day or two before it goes out... the deadline getsme into action. Thoughts, commitment and imagination go to work to motivate me to complete it on time ... and my ezine goes out at the specified date. The importance of a deadline is easy to overlook . I hadn'trealized their value, or hadn't thought much about it untilwriting these comments. Without any kind of a deadline onprojects ... I wonder how many would get completed? Have you noticed as you get closer to a deadline, you become more creative? Deadlines cause our thoughts and imagination to become active giving us ideas to get the job done before the deadline. Deadlines are what causes us to get into action... sometimes at the last minute, to complete a project or goal we set with commitment days before. Bill Parks... Three Ways Journaling Can Boost Your Creativity and Your Business I have a friend who has struggled with her creativity for a long time. She's extremely uncomfortable thinking of herself as "creative." We've been working together on it, and making progress. One of the tools that's really helped her has been journaling. The Creativity Creed I believe that creativity is a natural order of life itselfand it provides my life with the purest of energies. Find the Artist Within Can anyone be an artist? Stress VS Creativity Now when I use the term "creativity", I mean the kind of states of mind and body where thoughts and ideas flow freely; where there is a STREAM of data information that comes clearly from a very different place than one might normally inhabit and which translates smoothly and perfectly into colours, visions, sounds, patterns, movements, actions and resolutions. How Do You Paint New Age About once every year or so, I take a critical look at the design of my web site and now our popular newsletter and wonder what I could do to create a theme background for them. Telling It Like It Is (Or Can Be) When you hear, "tell me a story," does your mind suddenly go blank? Don't panic. The good news is, you're already a natural storyteller! Surprised? You shouldn't be. It's built right into our genetic code. Human beings are a storytelling species. Of all the creatures on Earth, we're the only ones that share past memories and future dreams as a way to get to know others, build friendships, plan an endeavor, inspire a group. Mindfulness and Poetry: Delicious Word Awareness Everyone's a poet. Be Creative to Get Money Creativity alone can make you money and no matter what anyone tells you or what you think, anyone can be creative. Creativity is like a skill that needs to be developed. The more you work at being creative the better you will get. You have to allow yourself to think. Just sit back, read some books, look at TV. Keep feeding your brain with ideas until you find the one or one(s) that will make you that fortune you have been working hard for and waiting to come. Inspiration, Creativity, and Channeling ? Opening Ourselves to Greatness Channeling is much easier to do than most people suspect. As a matter of fact we have all seen people channeling and you have probably done it yourself many times, even though you may have been unaware of it or didn't know what to call it. It's actually a very natural state to be in. Top Five Journal Exercises Keeping a journal is a form of creative expression that enhances the creativity coaching process. Keeping a journal develops emotional awareness, reinforces self-esteem and aids in problem-solving. Keeping a journal also provides a written record of artistic growth, struggle and change. Here are some basic exercises that I use throughout the creativity coaching process. Brainstorming Effectively BRAINSTORMING: The basic tool used in generating many possible solutions to a problem is brainstorming. To use the brainstorming process effectively requires following a prescribed set of rules very closely. These rules are: 1. No positive or negative comments are allowed during the brainstorming phase. 2. Positive or negative non-verbal evaluations are discouraged as well. 3. A group member may ask for clarification if the member does not understand a given suggestion, but it is important to avoid any questions that are directed to "how" or "why" of the idea. In other words, the person suggesting a solution is not to be asked to defend the idea! 4. "Far out" or amusing suggestions are encouraged. Laughter can serve as a good release and help people relax. A seemingly wild or amusing suggestion is listed with the more serious ideas for group consideration, unless the "author" of the idea specifically asks that it be withheld. Sometimes a wild idea can be changed or built upon for creative practical solutions. The idea here is to relax and let the ideas flow. 5. Encourage group members to generate solutions that are based upon changing ideas already presented, (e.g., reversing, expanding, limiting). 6. Combine ideas that seem to compliment each other. Characteristics: Creative Types VS Clods! Here are some odds & ends I have observed in creative-expert-genius types: The Source of Growth and Creativity Bare attention (to objects, people and circumstances) is what brings order in this world and in your personal world. If you know how to move your attention without the involvement of mind, positive creation happens as a result. Attention is literally a life response whereas mind is reaction out of memory and reaffirmation of the past. Attention is not same as thinking mind but it constitutes pure awareness moving itself through different objects without creating friction. Trying to Create From Distorted Perceptions? We've all met people who are "negative" ? negative thinkers who consistently see the glass as half empty. 9 Steps to Supercharge Your Productivity with Creativity Time is the great equalizer. Everybody has the exact same number of hours in each day. For most people, the hours available are usually less than the hours needed to get everything done. However, by using the following principles of creativity, you should be able get more done in less time, while making certain that you are doing what's most important and moving yourself closer to your goals. Magic In Your Spice Rack Variety is the spice of life, but spices, historically are the stuff of magic! A spell, after all is really just a recipe and traditionally many of them involve plant life or herbs. Magic doesn't have to be complicated to work. In fact the simplest spells sometimes work best of all, because they most resemble an innocent wish and the doer is not attached to the outcome. Check out the magickal uses of some of these very common spices, which are found in almost everybody's spice rack or kitchen cupboard at home. I Want To Create... What would you like to create? A peaceful life, a successful life, a good life, a sculpture, a piece of art, a book? What is it that you would like to create? Whatever you want you can achieve it. All you have to do is follow your natural compass. Remove the rubbish that takes you off course and let the natural you come through. It is not the case of adding new behaviours to create what you want. No. It's a case of moving the obstacles out of the away and let the natural you come through. Creativity Management ? Working From Real Life Creativity can be defined as problem identification and idea generation whilst innovation can be defined as idea selection, development and commercialisation. The Healing Powers of Journaling For the past several years, I have found joy working as a motivational writer and speaker. One of my greatest passions has been the gift of sharing my deep love and respect for the written word. Words are powerful. They provoke thought, stimulate creativity, and most importantly, they hold within them the power to heal. Most people do not realize the incredible life-changing potential writing has. Creativity Management ? Its All About Routine Creativity can be defined as problem identification and idea generation whilst innovation can be defined as idea selection, development and commercialisation. |
