Building Your Bankroll
The first thing one needs to do before they even think about laying a bet down is: set your bankroll before the season even begins. You have to know how much money you are going to start with. To clarify what a bankroll is, it's the total amount you have saved up, put in dresser and so on, and can afford to lose and not effect the way you eat, sleep, live, etc? Next, one needs to set a base amount or percentage of their bankroll that they are going to bet on each game. This means, it will be the same amount for each game all year. Now you may be thinking, what if you have a for sure bet, shouldn't you bump it up? Remember this, no matter how much someone tells you they have a "lock" or sure bet, there is no such thing! We strive for 100% every time but that most likely will not happen. If it were true we could get 100% correct, we would all be millionaires. You are doing the set amount for one thing: making it through the long haul of the season. If one was to bet a set amount for the season and hit on a clip of 60% there is a real good chance of doubling your money! I don't know of anybody who doesn't mind doubling their money in just a few short months. Last thing to remember when it comes to setting a base amount to bet, make sure the amount is an amount you are at ease with. There will be times where the weeks are not too kind to you, so by betting a easy set amount, you won't feel too bad when those weeks come by. Lastly, Do Not Play Catch-Up! If you are betting a set amount and are on a losing streak, do not try and play catch up because it will end up biting you in the butt. Remember, by setting an amount on each game, all you need to do is hit 50% of the games for the year and you break even minus the vig. If you are behind and feel you need to play catch up and double or triple your set amount to "catch-up" your bankroll can take a dramatic hit. If you keep your set amount through the season anything above 50% winning percentage will give a profit at the end of the season! There is no real reason to play catch-up and it is not worth the risk! Leo Mendelsohn

Three Ways to Play Free Online Poker Getting to play poker online for free is the holy grail for a lot of poker players. You get to play your favourite poker games and it doesn't cost you anything. What could be better! Secrets of Texas Hold Em First if you are tired, angry, drunk or your condition is something other than focused, sharp mind, DON'T play! You will loose money in time. Texas Hold 'Em poker game requires patience, sharp mind and focused eyes. Now, keep in mind that every table has one or two very skilled players. You must pay attention to those players so find them. If you are a beginner in poker game do not look for a table of few players. You chances to win decreases and further more you are paying more blinds. Take a table like 10 seats for examble. I prefer 10 seat 0.5/1 or 0.25/0.50 no limit tables. When playing at a table do not start aggressively. Just look around and watch your poker game buddies. Learn how they play and mark those players who are playing well, you will notice them in time. A good player does not play all the deals, in fact he/she folds about 90% of his/her cards and plays only with good hole cards. Focus on them and avoid playing against them unless you have a very good hand. You could use holdem odd calculator program like HoldemSpy if you are a learning to play. It calculates the odds having a good hand on river and suggests if you should bet, call, check or fold. You should not follow its suggestions blindly, use your own common sense but it gives you good guide anyway. Now you are playing full. Look at players who play every deal and those players you think they bluff. But remember, play only with good hands. After you have learned to play well you can start learning to bluff time to time but bluffing is another story to tell so I'm not talking about it now because it requires skills also.Good hole cards are starting from 8 or better. Fold everything else even if they suit. It is just not worth playing those cards. Exception: you have A and something else (under 8), then check or call but if you have K and the other card is below 8 then throw them away always. Not worth playing. If you have AA, AK or KK then always raise right at the beginning but keep in mind that you do not bet too small, the idea is to go on playing against one or two players. This way you have much better chance to beat your opponents. As a conclusion of all this, reserve a of time for yourself, maybe several hours. You can not win big money in short time. Be patient. Fold bad cards EVERY time, don't rely on them ever. Make notes of other players: how they play? Who is good, which are bad and so on. Avoid playing against good players. Finally, remember quit playing when you are winning money. Do not continue playing and thinking you could win a bit more... The Secret of Put Bets Pssst...! Wanna know a secret? Poker Fever Big blind with my jack-three off suit, I found myself able to see a free flop as the action was checked back to me. Typically, jack-three off suit is a hand I, or any other poker player with the slightest knowledge of the game would not even look twice at, but when the flop of communal cards comes out jack-eight-three, it is a very pleasant surprise. I checked the action, meaning that I did not bet, trying to slow play my two-pair. The action was checked around and the turn revealed yet another three, giving me a full house (three of a kind and two of a kind). I checked again, acting like I had nothing. This time Joel, a very skilled poker player in my opinion, bet. How To Extend Your Stay & Play At A Casino How To Extend Your Stay & Play At A Casino The Secret of Making Odds Only Bets Pssst...! Wanna know a secret? The Truth About Roulette Systems and How to Win! The Truth about Roulette Systems and How to Win!Casinos have an edge and they make money, FACT. Players bet on Roulette and the game has a built in edge in the casinos favour. The player wins or loses on individual bets, but the casino is looking at the odds over the LONG term. It's a bit like the way the insurance companies calculate insurance premiums, they lose sometimes, but they have an edge in their favour where premiums collected are more than their payouts. Therefore, Individual bets even out over the long term and the casino earns according to the following equation:Casino Profit = (Total Bets All Players) x (House Edge)The House EdgeRoulette balls and dice have no memory. Every spin in roulette is independent of all past events and the current spin is not influenced by previous spins. This combined with the house edge dooms all roulette systems to failure.Roulette systems cannot work, as there is no reliable data to base a system on in the first place. If you don't have data you rely on, you can't have a system that works!Over time, the longer you play, the ratio of money lost to money bet will get closer to the house edge. If you win in the short or long term, it is purely down to chance, or luck.Roulette Systems - Progression SystemsProgression systems are based on the belief that this equation can be beaten. It is an attempt to ignore the truth and tries to place bets according to a set equation in an attempt to change the house edge in favour of the player. There are two main types of progression roulette systems:Negative ProgressionA system where wagers are raised after a losing bet is called a negative progression. The logic behind this type of betting system is the frequency of winning sessions. It assumes that in almost every session, the player will be able to leave on a win.The downside is that loosing sessions can be very expensive for the player. The most famous of these systems is the Martingale system. While a player would lose over time anyway, the casino gives itself some added protection restricting the number of consecutive bets!Positive ProgressionAnother method is positive progression, pyramiding, or letting a profit ride.Players are willing to gamble more aggressively with money they have won in order to win bigger amounts. The downside of these systems is the player needs to keep winning. The player needs a long series of wins and the odds are strongly against him, in fact the house edge tells you that he can't win and the longer he plays the more obvious this will become. The fact they are sometimes playing with winnings is irrelevant over time to their overall profitability.Winning at RouletteIt is obvious from the above that casinos can't lose over the long term because of the house edge. The above systems will not work, as there is no reliable data to base them on.Players can win in the short term, (by chance), but the longer they play the more the casino gains an edge and wins.To get the house edge down to its lowest level does not require roulette systems, all you need to do is know the right bets and how to place them. 2005 World Series of Poker -- Mid Tournament Report The 2005 World Series of Poker started its 36th year bigger and better than ever at the RIO!
